The gods forbid we actually expect a game developer to be better than your average Activison or EA dev.

You can expect anything you want, but don't b*tch about what you get, when you they don't actually have to give it to you.

Why isn't anyone talking about this:" Argonians, just like khajiits, will have fur."? In my opinion it is ridiculous that a lizard has fur instead of scales, but whatever i wont be using argonions anyway...

Where did you read that?

Oh, I've just noticed something I missed earlier...
11) What are the differences between the races? I guess they'll have different skill bonuses, but will they also start with different perks or have different "hard-coded" attributes, such as different running speeds or maximum encumbrance, etc.?
Todd:
They each start with some skills that are higher by default, but those aren’t hard to overcome with another race in a short time. They also have different starting spells and each has its own passive abilities, like before, as well as powers, like before. So Khajiit can see in the dark, Orcs have a berserk power, Redguards have Adrenaline Rush, and so forth. They work differently in the new system, but the flavor is the same. We kept all the racial movement speeds the same, that’s now a factor of what you’re wearing and have equipped. And starting max encumbrance is the same and is based on your Stamina attribute.

Pervs! Forcing my character to run around naked and weaponless like this just to get a decent movement speed...

Play as a Nord. If anyone asks, you can always blame it on a witch :shifty:

Same goes for you, If you had been on here longer you wouldnt feel as tho all this info is "new", much of it is old news to us who have been on here every day for like a friggin yr beggin for news scraps and piecing together stuff from tidbits, instead you jump on, read for 5 minutes all the new stuff, dont explore anything yourselves, then make comments about us being spoiled who want more news then this at a time,.... thats what I am talking about !

A year?

They announced Skyrim in December 2010. January, February, March, April, May, June, July......

Hmm. There seem to be several missing months, unless a year is way shorter than when I was in school.

Over exaggerate much? Or over dramatize things?

Every statement that is made will be taken as engraved in stone, no matter how many times they say "at the present time". Just like that screenshot from Oblivion that had a fighter on horseback with a drawn sword, something they say or show from a current *now* build might not end up in the final "gone gold" version of the game. And then the OMG THE DEVS LIED ranting would start. They announced too many things too soon with Oblivion, and it didn't look good when they had to scale things already mentioned back.

I think it was a decent interview; there were things that people thought were correct, but there wasn't anything official that confirmed it. Now this does. I can wait, even though my patience is getting strained. I just want the game at this point. I'll find stuff out as I play.

Please link to that, or show which answer it was.

Because otherwise I'm going to suggest you re-read the answers and double-check your source.

Except that my character is going to be the the witch! If she isn't faster than all those Nords she's going to rob and undress, this can't end well...

When you think about it, the inherent problem with the forums is that 99% off the people who come here are committed TES fans whose feedback, intelligent or otherwise, is largely inconsequential because they're guaranteed to buy Skyrim. Go to the Call of Duty forums to see the same exact thing: Players who see a certain franchise as their #1-favorite-of-all-time will inevitably be insufferable perfectionists who criticize every scrap of new info the dev releases. They'll also provide feedback that's often nearly as well-informed as that of the devs themselves, making them simultaneously one of the most useful and annoying resources the devs have.

I'll say this: I do wish Bethesda could give us a bit more info, but I think we should be thankful that they're still making the games they want to make, which are ultimately the games we want to play.

Compare them to Lionhead and Bioware, both of which have sold their souls to Microsoft and EA, respectively. They're busy making RPGs approachable for the shooter crowd and cramming Kinect functionality into everything. Bethesda is, with some degree of secrecy, managing to sidestep the ditch that other devs are jumping head first into.

So for every little disappointment, just remember the big picture: Skyrim will be one of the biggest and deepest RPGs in years, made by one of the few competent RPG devs left in the industry.
