Official: Beyond Skyrim

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:56 pm

This thread is for ideas and suggestions for future Elder Scrolls games, and to keep all the discussion in one series of threads.

During the run up to Skyrim's announcement topics on it proliferated and took over this forum, to keep things tidy we are keeping future game discussion in one topic, all other topics will either be locked and referred here or moved to this thread. We have a long way to go before next November but as information is released there will no doubt be thoughts and suggestions on the way forward. Please keep any discussion of Skyrim in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/forum/118-skyrim-general-discussion/.

A thread about this already?

Wow >.< Why can't people be happy that we've had Skyrim announced?!

In any case, it's still going to get quite a bit of activity I reckon.

I'd like Summerset Isle to be honest, or High Rock.
Mainland Morrowind would be quite cool as well, but that's my bias towards Dunmer showing.

They're kind of running out of normal places to go - all that's left are the big mysterious places - Elsewheyre, Black Marsh, Summerset, and Valinwood. I almost wish they would leave those places alone so that we can keep the mystery.

I can't really imagine how you top the previous games like Morrowind, Oblivion, and probably Skyrim, but I'd like to see more than one province featured, especially Hammerfell and possibly Black Marsh.

Should Skyrim DLC and Expansions also be discussed here? :)

The other day, I wondered for a moment when we'd see the Official TES VI Speculation Thread. Today, I lol'd.

I'd like Summerset Isle to be honest...

Yes. Add my vote.

We've been expecting this for 6 years. A spin-off by one of Zenimax's many legions for the interim would be at the very least acceptable.

Uhm, who said we weren't happy?
I also vote for Summerset Isle for TESVI! I would love to visit that province. And it'd be great for a game because it's surrounded by water, which could do away with the invisible barriers and make it more like how Vvardenfell was constructed in TESIII.

What is the five year plan? Might I suggest TES VI will be released fall of 2013 and the developer will be Arcane Studios using the Skyrim engine. Meanwhile Bethesda Game Studio will be working on TES VII and new tech, Skyrim engine V2.0. Machinegames will pick up the Fallout IP which will free BGS to develop new tech for TES.

Nope, there is a thread for that somewhere.

Oops - sorry. :( Fixed - although perhaps Skrim sounds better?

Beyond Skyrim, how about Summerset Isle? Revisiting Hammerfell would also be pretty cool, in my opinion. If Bethesda could stop the lasting joke that is the male Bosmer, I would also like to go to Valenwood. I'm hoping to dig up a bit more history on the Ayleids, there.

Actually, I expect the technology for TES VI to be even better than that. It may still have a version for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, however... it would be like scaling Call of Duty 4 from the PC version to the Wii version.

As for location, it is any guess. A southern province is a good bet... Valenwood, Elsweyr, Black Marsh or Summurset Isles. Hammerfell and High Rock are possibilities but I think it is too soon to say that Skyrim is the only province featured in TESV - but that will probably be cleared up next month!

One thing I would like to see is a triple threat - Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh, with the little strip of Cyrodiil in between, all in one map. Valenwood and Elsweyr are also possible - the premise could be another war between the provinces? Or maybe the southern panhandle of Cyrodiil is absorbed into either Elsweyr or Black Marsh.

My vote would be for Black Marsh, with a second place a tie between Summurset Isles and Valenwood.

Fomenting dissent, in the heart of the Aldmeri Dominion: Valenwood. The Wild Hunt.

The Thalmor has, I believe, relocated its capitol in Valenwood, as the First Dominion had. It'd make sense to go here, before going to Sumurset, because Sumurset is where the Chapters will end. The Graht Oaks and Falinesti may actually lead the rebellion. Awesome.

Elsweyr makes a lot of sense, too. A new Mane would inevitably jeopardize the Dominion's alliance with the southern principalities. Even though they're pretty chummy, and the southern Khajiit hate the Mane and probably killed the last one, there's that old legend of the Cat-Dragon, uniting the north and south. "For a truer paradise, you need to look Elsewhere."

Hands down the next location I'd like is Black Marsh, followed by Sumurset Isles.

Would be amazing to explore the Black Marsh and see the Argonians in their homeland.

Yes, I hate each and every person who posts in this thread.

Wait, oh crud what trickery is this!!

All I want is the Eye of Argonia :sadvaultboy:

Given the popularity of the Prince of Persia reboot (the first one, with Sands of Time) and Bethesda's presence in the console market I actually wouldn't be surprised to see this some time. They didn't want to do it before because they felt the genre did better on consoles and they were primarily a PC developer.

Maybe one of their new sister-companies will consider taking it up Fallout New Vegas style. I never played the first one, nor have I played a Prince of Persia since the original, but I'd be quite interested in Eye of Argonia if it was announced.

Ive been waiting for Akavir since...like forever. But, I could care less about the location as long as they incorporate.... The Nu-Mantia Intercept!

Yes, I know I'm completely obsessing over that right now. :P

I personally think they should take another crack at Cyrodiil, and make the Imperial City.... Well feel more grand and awe-inspiring.

Actually, I'm going to be honest and say that if they did an elder scrolls in Valenwood or Elsweyr they should actually do it in Both. Let's not forget that this is a PLANET. They can create anything they want! o.O

Though honestly, I want an epic space sim game!
