Some Extra Ideas (with the help of my friend)

Magic
Different types of atronachs:
Maybe Wind, Water, Earth (basically all elements or just mix it up a bit with different summoned creatures)

Spell creation

More spells available

More variety of staffs and mage clothes etc.

Combat

More varied attacks (rather than just left right left right etc. although the power attacks are good)

More weapons e.g. throwing knives, throwing axes, spears, halberds, slings, crossbows, javelins, different kinds of swords (rather than just sword and great sword), shuriken type weapons, flails, different maces, more varied bows (short bows, longbows etc.) and hunting bows and bows with specific purposes that actually are suited to certain activities.

Improved hand to hand combat and the ability to disarm and critically injure enemies (locational damage etc.)

Armor

Different sorts of armor and more unique for the wearer (as stated in my previous post) and the ability to customize what you make (including weapons).

Ability for armor to become damaged and worn down and have to be repaired unless it is fully wrecked.

Capes and cloaks, different types of helmet (full helms etc.), more armor slots (more places to put and have armor on the body to increase armor or mix up heavy and light).

Before being able to craft race specific armors and weapons, the player must first visit a smith of that race or someone with the knowledge instead of just leveling up and automatically mastering the art of another race's technology.

Movement

Add the ability to grab and/or jump onto objects and climb up things as well. Also the environment should affect how you move e.g. thick snow slows you down especially in heavy armor.

Armor be able to affect your movement as many people say e.g. wearing full iron armor and sprinting effortlessly through The Pale NO
wearing heavy armor and struggling to move with any significant speed through The Pale YES

Cities/Settlements

Make cities bigger. There are probably going to be more people than in Whiterun in an actual city. I find it hard to think I'm in a city environment when there are barely any buildings or they are just not at all obvious. To be honest they are all more like towns.

Different kinds of shops. In every major settlement there are exactly the same types of shops (blacksmith, general goods, food stalls, inn, alchemy) but I think it would be much cooler if there was a wider variety of shop types with perhaps individual items to sell according to that area. I don't know the details but maybe this would spice up the game a little.

NPC interaction

Something concerning arrows, and knees. That much is certain.

Some odd things I've found:
1. Somewhere between the Dibella shrine and the Thalmor embassy in the Solitude province (Hjaalmarch?), off trail there are a series of old steps - nord looking - that end in a collapsed structure which looks like it was once a gate. It then dead ends into a mountain face that is vaguely shaped like a door. Why?
2. Again in the 'solitude' province - in the northwest corner, there is a rather large island off the coast, slightly hilly, with some ore fields on it. There's also a flag planted on the high point, with a skeleton hugging it. Why?
3. There is a shrine to Akatosh in the southeast corner of the eastern march (Windhelm province) at the southeastern edge of the 'yellowstone geyser' plain. It's accessed from the eastern side, up a very craggy hill. What's it doing there, and why isn't it marked?

This gives me an idea:
Each skyrim province is ripe with opportunity for enriching - creating new quests that expand on the current layout of dungeons/ruins, and perhaps expand/deepen individual ones or open up a few new ones. We don't necessarily need Skyrim to be redone, or have a whole new province/region opened up.
The Windhelm murders quest serves as an example - everything took place within the city walls, and it was a very limited quest, yet it was interesting. It wouldn't take much imagination to come up with much, much deeper quest storylines in a limited geographic area.
Markarth and its province would be IDEAL for this. Consider - when you go into the dwarven ruins to kill the giant Nimhe spider and track down the lost expedition, the first thing you see upon entering the ruins is a bunch of caved-in hallways. There must be 5 or 6 of them, I can't remember. What if further excavations revealed whole new wonders/terrors? What if someone was digging from the other side?
Then there's all the wierd problems of that province - Thalmor hunting down Talos worshippers, the border regions themselves, the presence of daedric - loving Forsworn roaming around and those damn Falmor emerging from underground, raiding caravans and causing havoc, not to mention the bandits and Dwemer ruins - WOW, what a province! I could easily imagine another 40-60 hours of questing and adventuring centered just on Markarth. There's opportunities to include the Thieve's Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Companions, Blades, Pentulus Occulatus...........Oh My!

If I knew how to develop code for such things, I'd do it myself. Seriously.

Ma'iq the Liar! I wonder what he'll say in the next game.

Talk about potential - Ma'iq could serve as the center of ALL SORTS of new quests.
Is Ma'iq a spy? Is he looking for someone? Who is he looking/spying for? Is he a thief? Assassin? Saboteur? An agent seeking to contact malcontents (Falmor, Forsworn, Bandits, Stormcloaks) on behalf of some outside power/agency? Is he looking for some THING, like Septimus Signus was? Is he serving the Daedra in some wierd, horrible capacity?

Bethesda, I bow to thee. You guys are AWESOME for developing this game. There's SO MUCH that could be done here, it's probably a bit overwhelming.

First off, I am in awe of the talent at Bethesda and in no way am I complaining, just dreaming.

I love purchasing houses in the game, but I think the concept of title and land ownership could be taken to a whole new level. I would like to see a game where the money you accumulate actually means something! I lose all kinds of motivation to continue playing when I have 200,000 gold and I own every property I can own in the game. Wouldn't it be cool if you could purchase land, then improve it? So let's say I do enough in a hold to be eligible to purchase one or all of three or four properties. Then, when I have collected enough cash, I can choose to improve the land (in expensive stages) leading to the establishment of a tavern, meadery, house, stable, etc? Maybe, you could even purchase land somewhere which could be developed into a full blown estate. You start off with a wood house, then you can pay to upgrade it several times (expanding the footprint and floors) and eventually it is a manor or castle! I guess I've walked by too many abandoned camps, forts, and watchtowers in Skyrim and thought, "I wish I could clear this place of bandits, buy the land from the Jarl, repair the walls, and turn this into MY camp, fort, or watchtower"...

Maybe I could buy a title from a noble, king, or jarl with a large sum of money and a few tasks.

You could construct some neat missions around these endeavors, too. It would be neat if you became rivals with other nobles as you challenge their dominance through gaining property and title... There are already hints of these kinds of rivalries, but you are doing the bidding of feuding Lords and Ladies.

Also, as you establish businesses, they yield an income.

Finally, I have often thought that I would love to go cave diving and cat burgling for some artifacts, art, and other treasures with which I could then decorate my abode(s). Basically like what you can do with that one shelf in the Thieves Guild in Riften, but apply that to a large house, ya know?

So when I am finished with a game, I am sitting in my castle in the middle of my estate with hired workers, hired mercenaries to keep away thieves (without whom maybe some of my profits from businesses are hurt from time to time due to thieves), purchased horses in my stables, surrounded by my many pieces of art and artifacts, with a meadery in Riften and my farm nearby...

No, they're definetily looking for feedback. From a pure biz standpoint, Bethesda knows they've got a giant money machine on their hands - that's why they now own the Elder Scrolls and Fallout rights.
They're giving us a chance to give them feedback for two reasons:
1. They want the expansions/DLC's to sell well, so they need to find out what worked well and what the player base didn't like. To find that out, you have to ASK - there's no other way.
2. The developers probably have ideas of their own and are looking for ratification; also, the feedback could stimulate ideas in their heads, and they look for that sort of stuff.

it would be cool to be able to travel on a boat, but a carriage would be boring, unless things can happen on the journey that allow you to get off like bandits attack the carriage.

Nice try, but Morrowind (TES III) had both faction reputation and exclusive factions.

Okay, i'll make my wishes reasonable.

1. Bring back attributes and all the Morrowind skills. Not Morrowind nostalgia (I started with Oblivion),
but I want to be able to make whatever kind of character I want, and I should be able to make a
character that doesn't work. The unarmored skill in particular was pretty versatile. You could make
an explorer character who doesn't even wear armor.

2. Weapon and armor variety. Kind of go's with skills. Spears, thrown, crossbows, medium armor.
I'd like to see the armor sets split up into pauldrons and legs peieces and stuff. Not that essential,
but I feel like it would be pretty easy to do with future computers and consoles capabilities.

3. Most importantly: maturity and complexity in quests and storytelling. This translates into deep
dialogue. I would like player's actions to effect the world, but that's not really essential to TES. Really
though: better dialogue. I personally don't care for voice acting, but I know its not going away.
If nothing else, I say once more, better dialogue and more interesting/interactive quests.

Text dialogue.

I'm well aware that this will never happen, but voiced dialogue is just too time consuming and too expensive to provide the level of detailed interaction I'm looking for.
