Elemental weapons also overlaps with a redundancy issue with enchanted weapons. It sort of makes the idea of making ethereal characters that can only be harmed by enchanted weapons/certain material types. Mages already have a counter to this, since magic already hits them directly. Personally, I'd like to see alchemy and applied resins become more prominent.
As is, I think magics only real hurdle at this point is trying to alleviate the constantly pausing to switch between spells. PC issue is (sorta) mitigated, but anyone playing with a gamepad gets hit with this hard. Wanted to say you could equip "magic" that has a wheel input of what spells you want to load onto your character, and I'm really bad at explaining things and this will probably be grossly misinterpreted.
Uh...I'd like see staves act as spell amplifiers/possible melee option for mages. That's be cool.
