Official Fallout 4 Location Suggestions #2

I agree with the consent of some others here, A mayor city like New York would be great. There could be a part that's flooded, with bridges spanned between buildings. Sounds good to me.

I have to say a good location for FO:4 or a dlc would be Kentucky. I'm sure some ones going to reply with a , But seriously the area along the ohio river in the 50's was huge industry wise. Also the out of all the locations in the U.S. the people of Appalachia are the most prepared to survive a event like the great war. Theres also the history of slavery where the underground railroad to get slaves up north went right through Kentucky which they could fit in there some how, also bethesda could do something with the horse farms that kentucky is known for, adding cincinatti in there so you could have a bigger city would also be a idea. And the rumors of HUGE catfish in the ohio river which would only get bigger with the radiation. Wright patterson air force base with its relations to the roswell crash and aliens is pretty close too so that could be a dlc.

yes

as soon as I saw giant catfish I knew this was good

The only reason i wouldn't want the south in was it would be way to much like point lookout and I have had more than enough swamp-folk. If there was a civilization though it could work but they would have to be at war with the eastern BOS

Atlanta is not really surrounded by swamp and last I checked the only large scale BoS in the south was in texas. please dont tell me you think the south is nothing but hillbillys cus its not.

Choosing from every major city in America they could still do a fallout around, Boston has the most hooks necessary for a sequel to Fallout 3. It's got a river, plenty of famous ruins, a known high-tech fortress with an android problem, and some highlands in the area for picturesque views. The only thing it doesn't have is mountainous terrain in the surroundings for interesting landscapes.

New York. the city would have to be done better than DC in FO3 though, they did it crappy in FO3. having to take those damned subways EVERYWHERE was annoying, as was seeing the same pile of debris blocking off areas every 5 minutes.
I'd like a system more where you like encountered wrecked cars, or trucks or, in some cases that make sense, fallen buildings blocking off cells, with a nearby like coffee shop or something similar on the corner, where you just enter it through a normal door, then exit the cell through another one. Soooooo much more realistic and easier.

But of course it would also have to be non-city New York as well, and I would LOOOOVE post-apocalyptic forests in the countryside (they would like sort of like the one in the opening of The Book of Eli, mostly leafless and barren, but still standing). This has alot of potential as not only was it a population center, but it is also in close proximity to several other states with interesting landmarks. I mean, forget the Mall in FO3, we would have the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Chrysler Building, Wall Street, etc. to visit. Would be great.

why not in missouri that could be fun a half destroyed arch the football and baseball stadium all the old building and all sorts of things i think it would be interesting and fun but if it douse not half to be in the usa then japan would be fun there is a lot of cool places out there that would be interesting to explore. lets see i like the idea of the commenwelth as one of the factions and the outcasts with a sub or a remnant of the BoS in the back round and for the enclave joins the comenwelth and you get to choose that side you want to be on or you can act as a spy that for ether side that would be kinda fun bu you can get tech w/ them all

I agree with many of these.
I think it should be in the Commonwealth.
And a small part to add would be to hear talk of Harkness / (SPOILER) The Android from Commonwealth.

i think the reason we like the commonwealth is because we revived a slight introduction and it peaked our interest b/c we want to know more about the tech and what it in-tales and then we let out imagination run wild. we want to know more about it. lol

EDIT: Name it.... F.I.S.T.O. MkII ?

Kentucky. You know, there's... Fort Knox. And. Coal mines, yes.

And no, I'm not only saying that because I live here.

Though if I could visit my own house, would I still lose karma for stealing?

You should expand on The Pitt.
If not then I really hope you plan on an expansion for The Pitt in FO4.
Pitt has such potential.
Don't waste it.
Expand.

New York City. Lots of landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, the new World Trade Center (will be completed in 2013), the Empire State Building, Central Park. Of course a lot of the city would be destroyed but there could still be skyscraqers standing.

They could also have the New England Commonwealth in the same game. Look like there could be factions like the Institute and the Railroad, which were mere footnotes in Fallout 3. The Institute is supposed to have lots of advanced technology as it was once MIT. They could salvage the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Boulder_Dome concept Van Buren for the Institute near Boston, except it would be a working facility instead of the chaos it would have been in Van Buren.

LOL It'd be hilarious for their to be Commonwealth robots that say "COMMENSING anol PROBE!" when your atleast five feet away from it and turn away...

I'd really like to see a war between the Commonwealth and the Pitt... Possibly over whats left of NYC?

A Fallout in Kentucky might actually work, and I say yes you will still lose karma for stealing your own stuff... But it'd be creepy if you were playing, stole your own stuff, and you as a ghoul came out and started yelling at you...

And yes because we had a small glimpse at what the Commonwealth is and what the Pitt might become (I add the Pitt part in myself, he didn't right it) I think that's why we're so excited to know more...

I think Chicago is a legitimate possibility..

Spoiler
New Vegas almost told us directly that the Enclave is still in existence within the city. The Mid-Western Brotherhood is in Chicago or close to it, so I think Chicago is a possibility. Not saying it's what we all want, but I think it's possible. Personally I wouldn't mind taking a brief break from some of the old factions and learning about another major power somewhere in the East. Then come back to the old factions in blazing fashion!!

NV mentions (former?) Enclave outpost there, yes. But it might aswell be just like a dozen men hiding in some bunker. Enclave should be nothing but dead by now, since they have been utterly destroyed three times already.

My sentiments..
Spoiler
While that's possible, the background on ED-E's journey from the Capital Wasteland to the Mojave makes it seem like there is relatively larger presence there.

I think Fallout should stay out of pre-war cities for some time. I'd like to see some towns and cities made from scratch a la Shady Sands, Vault City and Junktown. You know, actually seeing people building a new world instead of living in the ruins of the old one.

I think any location in the southern states would be amazing, but it would be especialy awsome to have a game revolve around control of the Mississippi River. The river would be a major means of transportation for people and for traders...if its not irradiated to hell like the Pitt. Not to mention being able to explore all those creepy abandoned antebellum homes and civil war battlegrounds. Any swampy areas like New Orleans(which would be especialy cool with its whole cajun vibe) could have mutated gators and other swap creatures while more wooded areas could have things like mutated deer(the most deadly animal in the U.S.) or wolves.

I'd like to see a bunch of gangs making up Chicago with some other large factions trying to get to it... But no like New Vegas, let Chicago feel like it has it's soul!

Why would a dozen Enclave citizens be there, as Arcade said in response to "Where did the Enclave go?"

http://img815.imageshack.us/img815/9334/49140165.png

I see no reason why 12 Enclave citizens would just sit around, waiting for orders, or why only 12 or so would be sent there. If the idea was to split the Enclave up to try and ensure it's survival, I imagine maybe, 50 or so citizens, though to be fair they will be quite old now, unless they took children with them or something.

To keep an eye on MWBoS, maybe? It's kinda hard to stay hidden with that much people.
