Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestion Topic. #4

So I've been doing some thinking about Detroit and Chicago and what kinda funny is the new Chrysler commercial was just on. Anywho, could have some interesting factions form up out of competing auto manufacturers. So far in game I think Chrysler is only one with an in game reference. So can add a GM and Ford counterpart.

A few interesting things with that. Just like in WW 2, they prolly would have started cranking out military equipment. Could be a power armor assembly line in Detroit for example.

I think it time to see some of these pre-war juggernauts have some form of plan for possible nuclear war by constructing their own bunkers/vaults. We always see posters and comments on corporate espionage, so let's have some.

For example, say Chryslus built regional office in DC area to spy on Vault-Tec and perhaps steal plans for Vault. Some people think that is actual corporate headquarters, but doesn't seem like it to me. Pretty small for a automotive juggernaut. I took it as more a regional hq. So, just to refresh my memory, I went there last night in FO 3 and there isn't a working computer in the joint, so absolutely no info, which imo is good cuz that means can do just about anything with them, and the corporate espionage could be good venue to take. Perhaps they pissed that GM and Ford game counterparts are getting military contracts. So they spying and scheming.

Could throw some factions at war from Chicago and Detroit, a great lakes midwestern power struggle with mwbos, slavers, and enclave thrown in the mix.

Vault 55 would prolly be a good vault to be in Detroit area. Perhaps 42 as well. Chicago could be a good location for a Secret Vault, and maybe Enclave caught wind of it and they are searching for it.

Just some thoughts about Tennessee from http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167802-new-fallout-after-new-vegas/page__st__40__gopid__17244963#entry17244963

Fallout:The Battle for Wattz Bar (so far the most interesting name I could come up with)

The primary location would be Watts Bar Wattz Bar, a Wattz R&D/production facility.

The factions (spoiler to prevent wall of text)
Spoiler

Major Factions
MLA (they currently hold Wattz Bar)
MWBOS (Barnaky ending, obviously)
Confederacy (the important part in this game is that they kill ghouls/mutants as well as robots, androids etc. on sight, and don't take kindly to people hiding them, they generally keep to themselves though)

Possible Major factions (not sure if they should be included and how influential they should be)
Lyons' BOS (just because I want to see some fighting between the MWBOS and Lyons, Lyons wouldn't be as large as the factions mentioned above)
Tennessee Valley Authority (either renamed the Federals or nicknamed the federals, could have Enclave ties, they force people off their land)

In between faction (so far I only have one)
Sparta (Vault experiment involving the entire town living under Spartan conditions, styled after Ancient Sparta).

Small factions
Several anti-slavery cells
Several ghouls/mutant liberating cells not part of the MLA (ones more native to the Confederacy)
A few unaligned towns
Slaver groups
Raider groups

You do not see the larger factions (and the Spartans) in full, even if you wipe them out here, they still control an area large enough to survive. All factions control several towns/outposts in the area as their own where you can trade for various equipment. Also, every semi-large faction has it's own armor (including unmarked armor) and weapons, these differ from ordinary armor and weapons in that they offer bonuses more suitable to the faction's style. You can still repair them with ordinary armor/weapons as well as similar equipment from another faction.

Currently I'm thinking about
MWBOS: bonus to DT and ROF
Lyons: bonus to DT and ROF
Confederacy: bonus to DT and DAM (they don't even use gatling weapons, opting for machine guns instead)
Sparta: bonus to DT and DAM (but they still use miniguns, renamed to miniphalanx)
TVA: bonus to mobility and DAM
MLA: bonus to mobility and DAM

Oh, and try not to have the Confederacy become something like the swamp people from FO3, they are supposed to be wastelanders

The MWBOS and Confederacy both want the Wattz Bar facility to increase their Energy Weapons production. They also want to wipe out the MLA there, preferably leaving no survivors. The MLA wants to hold it from these 2 because they know the weapons will be used against mutants and ghouls. The Spartans may be able to ally themselves with the Confederacy. Maybe they could also be able to take the facility, but it's not their goal.

I like MikeZ's NYC Idea (which is where I'm desperately hoping FO4 is), but I hope the mutants are present, as they are my fav faction. The following is from another post of mine, as it fits here too:

"They need to come up with a reason for more super mutants. They are my fav enemies (aside from ghouls and deathclaws) and I'd have to see them disappear...Certainly the Enclave, the brotherhood, or someone has more FEV...The enclave seem to be the only faction actually researching stuff, or making ANY attempt to make new technology, so they'd be the perfect candidates for an explanation as to why there are suddenly more enclave (note: I am NOT saying that I want FO4 to focus on the enclave, I just think theyd be the best way to explain more mutants. They could also say that some faction, new or old, found a way to alter the current mutants to be able to have kids, which would probably be best since all samples of FEV are supposed to be gone). Also,I really think it'd be cool if they brought the master back somehow. It would work and i know a simple way to explain it (I just don't feel like typeing it now, but if anyone want's to hear it I'll post it later). Interplay's site for the fallout MMO has a table that has "the master lives" scratched into it, and while this is probably just a promotional thing and won't actually appear in the story, i think it would be awesome it it did happen. "

We can't talk abou the Fallout MMO (legal disputes) and mutants are dying.

If the Enclave is making Frank Horrigans to fomr an army (or were and they over powered the people at the base) that would be cool.

I thought interplay won the case already? Also, I said in my post that they need to come up with some sort of way for the mutants to breed or have more created. They are just too cool to be taken out of the series.

Yeah, I guess but it'd piss of the original fans further.

Although they probably would've been just fine if it was Black Isle that came up with this, but lets not start a flame war.

I'd only like it if with every generation of supermutants they became weaker, yet (for D.C.) smarter.

Edit: Last I heard about the case was some time last year...

I guess it's cool to say things like that if you always end it with "but let's not start a flame war". You could get away with all sorts of things.

Most of us are not blind [censored], like some Bethesda fans might be. Fallout 2 had many things that were [censored] and didn't fit the lore.

Seatle would be interesting, or the Rockies. Denver would be cool to go to, also they should look into using that thing that FUEL use's to make it's map. Then they could just include huge swaths of land and fill it with tribes, cities, towns, pre-war bases, radio stations, forests, lakes, bunkers, vaults, and whatever else they want. Imagine climbing through abandoned skyscraqers, going across barren wasteland(desert), gliding off cliffs. Idk, a idea at least.

I say [censored] Interplay and [censored] PoS and do a Fallout that encompasses the entirety of Texas. PoS didn't do Texas any justice, and I'd like a real, canon, Fallout to knock that crap out of any speculation.

these are very good ideas but to be honest has Bethesda ever taken a fan's idea and put it in the actual game? while that being said most game developers do not take fan ideas unless its a brilliant idea

:P

But seriously, they can't possibly listen to everyone but im sure blizzard is listing to their fans and actully takes their suggestions in to the game. Valve im sure is listen's to the fans if you take what they did with left 4 dead 2 and also took the bojkott seriously. I would assume that Bethesda is keeping an eye on TES forum and listening, all the people talking about spears, im betting they made beth atleast consider it :meh:

They were in New Vegas I don't see how they couldn't put it in, though it would be nice if they didn't use the grenade location for them. Or the sound when equipping and unequipping them.

Anchorage, Alaska

You could have a faction based off Russian Whalers, A faction based off the US military in Anchorage, and other high tech factions that can travel there with vertibirds. Mutant polar bears, Sea Lions, whales, and other animals that could have adapted to the climate. you could incorporate Alaska's mountain ranges with a vault or other military bases, instead of having like 6+ vaults next to a city. Find Caches from the Chinese-American War. The thing is though, it allows for many brand new factions, and it doesn't require any of the old factions. There could still be ghouls, probably not super mutants though. Ghoul General Chase maybe?? It very far from any of the current factions though, so there's no 4th rise of the Enclave, and we can have a game without the BoS and a super mutant companion?

Here's a crazy thought --

Since so many people are making pretty good arguments for a map node system, and since few of us agree on what future location we want, let's go for broke --

How about a Fallout that spans several large nodes across the country?

Maybe there's a secret high speed underground that still functions, or we get hold of a vertibird, or something. 5 or 6 biggish maps to explore, each with a different feel.
Hell, I'd sort of like that.

Is this node system like what was in Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition? Though I still rather the FUEL thing.
