Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestion Topic. #5

Alot of people seem to like to go to Alaska again. Is it just me that think winter landscapes in games tend to be so colorless (well, they are)? They are just white, black and different shades of gray, only thing that should be like that in Fallout is the karma system. :) I'd like it a bit further down than Alaska, maybe there's snow, but it's beginning to thaw, so in many places you see patches of grass, and then there's the green fir and pine trees. And if there are lakes, you see some ice, maybe drift ice, maybe it's in Canada by the Great Lakes and you see shelf ice. Imagine an afternoon in this landscape, the sun is standing low but it casts a warm light, and the snow on that side of the house is thawing, and you can hear it dripping, and the birds sing.... and then the [censored] Enclave lands with vertibirds everywhere, and they have another space crawler, and they're back in full force again! And the F3-[censored] rejoice!

Hahahaha, the Great Lakes are very far from Alaska and there is no ice shelf. Well there is ice on cliffs in teh winters sometimes.

My god, St. Louis is bad enough as it is! I can't imagine that after nuclear warfare.

Though I live in a state that borders Lake Erie, and have seen it a few times in the winter, I have never seen that.

Truth is I have not seen Lake Erie on a regular basis during winter to confer or deny that pic.

I wouldn t think that happens to lake Erie, but wiki should know more than me about it.

It must not happen very often, because I ve been there in December a few times and the lake is moving along just fine.

Nuclear winter has nothing to do with cold or snow, well natural cold.

I also think fo4 should be about the midwest bos in Chicago.

There are people that have been waiting 10 years to find out what really happened there. If Bethesda is going to have fo tactics as canon, then I say we go find out whats up in the windy city and surrounding areas. They should play fo tactics 1000 times so there are no lore or canon debates and then put us in.

If Bethesda keeps the Fallout title for good, then I also think we need to see other parts of the world sometime.

NASA scientists think that if everyone launched, the average temp of earth would drop 20oc. They say the amount of fallout a debris in thd air would stop sunlight from fully reaching earth for a while (I cant remember how long)

They said major events were canon, probabpy because thry didn't like ideas such as the hairy deathclaw... It was a safe move on their part, they're probably just going to read everything about Tactics a bunch of times and base a game off of it (hopefully Fallout 4)...

Yeah if they have the 4th game is partly in Ohio then they need to have Lake Erie on fire [img]http://www.ohiohistorycentral.org/entry.php?rec=1642[/img] though only a river that empties into lake Erie actually caught fire

I like the idea of Midwest for 4. Maybe canonize some of the stuff in it? Really, hairy deathclaws aren't that far of a stretch; just say they fell into a lake of FEV, which in turn evolved them to have hair or something.

Seriously, though, I'd either want Midwest, New York, or London. I was thinking about this today, and I thought that seeing Big Ben all broken up would be pretty intense. Maybe climb up it and go all "Clock-Tower-Sniper" on some ghouls? New York, on the other hand, has landmarks like the Empire State Building (which would be awesome to go to) and the Statue of Liberty (which would be equally as awesome to go to). DLCs could have the PC head out into the less urban areas of the state, like Central NY, stuff like that.

Well then ditch the hairy deathclaws (or leave them I couldn t give 2 [censored] if they have hair on them) and lets hear about the main events. I couldn t imagine waiting ten years to see what happened for real.

AHHHHH Who am I kidding Old Gaurd will say Bethesda messed up fo tactics canon/lore anyway and won t be happy no matter what. Let em suffer......... NYC baby

New York City
Set: Within a few years of Fallout 3 finishing
One of the things I loved about Fallout 3 was exploring the ruins of Washington and stumbling on new areas of the city or new buildings to enter. a Fallout set in New York could be similar as its heavily built up and has extensive subway system

Factions:

The Commonwealth
Primary Base: Columbia University
Secondary Bases: Various points around the Northern end of Manhattan island
Principal bad guys, lots of robots and androids have come down from Boston looking for tech

The Enclave:
Primary base: Intrepid aircraft carrier
Secondary bases: Various sites along the western shoreline near the Intrepid
Not a large faction possibly no more than a 30 troops have a couple of Vertibirds. The Enclave are using the Intrepid aircraft carrier as a base for their operations in New York city. The Enclave forces in NYC are survivors from Raven Rock and are unaware that all remaining Enclave forces in the DC area have been destroyed including Adams Air force base.

Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts:
Primary base: Brooklyn naval yard
Secondary base: NY Army National guard. The is also a Long range patrol at the New York Public Library
With the Brotherhood of steels victory over the enclave they are able to secure most of the tech in the DC area. The Outcasts still refuse to stand with Lyons and leave the area for New York City

Brotherhood of Steel Lyons Pride
Primary base: Liberty Island
Secondary locations: Staten Island ferry/ New York Helicopter tours
Having secured the DC area Elder Lyons allows locals to join the Brotherhood swelling their ranks, Lyons is able to do this by recovering Enclave Power Armour and distributing it to new members. After word reaches the Citadel that the Enclave/Commonwealth have been seen in New York City Sarah persuades her father to let her take the Lyons Pride and some of the New recruits to New York along with several captured Vertibirds.

Chinese Remnant
Primary base: Chinatown Manhattan island
Primarily made up of Chinese Americans Chinatown also was home to a secret Chinese Special Force detachment whose job was to seize one of the Vaults under New York city and set off its Nuclear reactor. The Chinese where never able to find the vaults and when the Great war began they helped fortify Chinatown against the Great wars lawless aftermath

PItt Merchants
Primary base: Near the western exit of the Holland Tunnel
The Pitt Merchants are from the Pitt (The ruins of Pittsburgh) and control the only working Steel Mill int eh Eastern US. In a lot of ways they are similar to the Gun Runners in that they sell guns and ammo to anyone , however they are also looking for new stuff to make and will pay caps for any Blueprint handed into them

"The Vault"

The Vault where the PC was born was built into an abandoned subway tunnel under Central park before the Great War

Another interesting idea would be New Orleans with the Levees broken and radioactive water flooding the streets it would be a post Apocalyptic Venice

I'm kind of warming up to the idea of "Motor City" being the centralised area.

Nuclear winter would already have passed 200+ years later ;P Or I dunno, but the skies were pretty clear and the climate pretty hot in Fallout 1, which was ca 100 years after the Great War.
It's the term for when after a nuclear war (that could've been during the cold war), all the dust the bombs would cast up into the atmosphere would block the sun from heating up the earth, experts thought it would be as much as 20°C colder than normal, hence "winter". Kind of what scientists think killed the dinosarus, a huge meteorit crashing, casting up dust into the atmosphere and block out the sun so they all died due to lack of food and freezing.

Though yeah, I agree with seeing B or C in Fallout 4.

Do it in Wyoming. Then the hero can be like "omg there's nothing here, all life here has died" and then a cow can be like "people lived here? lol"

My god, St. Louis is bad enough as it is! I can't imagine that after nuclear warfare.

In Tactics St. Louis basically looks like D.C. with super mutants. The MWBOS staged an assult on the City of St. Louis the Super Mutants however won the battle. So Tactics left off a possible BOS counter attack. Oh the people of St. Louis are very friendly just don't go into the inner-city neighborhoods cops will also warn you.

Maybe St. Louis could be where the MLA is trying to form a government, that'd be pretty cool.

im going to get so much [censored] for saying this but i would love to see it set somewere outside of the usa mainly china (uk and russia would also be high on my list) now i understand that the retro 50s america style is apart of the series but it was never a big part of it until fallout 3. i think i would be great to see how other countries have been effected it would also give a chance to introduce a whole bunch of new fractions to the franchise (im sick of seeing NCR, BOS and enclave) again just my opinion please dont flame me for it. if i have to pick somewere in the usa i would like the see leigon controlled states mainly arizona
