Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestion Topic. #5

I expect that FO4 will be in the Commonwealth, possibly including Ronto.

However, I'd love to see a Florida Fallout based around Cape Canaveral. Here's how I see it: Cape Canaveral still functions as the US's home to its space program. We know from Van Buren pages that space stations were intended to be in the FO universe. Canaveral was targeted heavily by Chinese nukes, but it also had strong defenses, allowing only partial destruction (like Mr. House saving Vegas for the most part). Being home to top scientists, on-site Vaults were created to protect America's best scientific minds. They survived fallout underground, with much of their technology and information with them. As generations passed, they educated their children to the best of their abilities, but they slowly became less adept over time - but still superior to scientists elsewhere. Eventually, the vaults open, and the inhabitants reclaim Canaveral and are trying to restore it to its original glory. They create a perimeter similar to the Boomer's in NV, and refuse admission to anyone else in the wastes. Eventually, using resources from their vaults, they manage to repair a significant amount of tech at Canaveral - Vertibirds, equivalents of the Liberty Laser for border protection, re-establishing connection to orbital assets (including weapons and communications platforms), and of course, one lone space shuttle capable of making only one or two trips. However, their numbers are small, so their influence in the wastes remains limited. Being completely self sufficient, no one goes in, no one goes out. People living in the wastes are constantly trying to get in, having little infrastructure. Outside of Canaveral would represent something more along the lines of the Capital Wasteland instead of the Mojave.

The Enclave should appear as well, serving as a small cameo appearance. Since they are remnants of the US government, it would stand to reason that they would have small outposts all throughout North America. Canaveral just makes sense for one. The PC can run into a small, hidden bunker manned by only a few Enclave personnel. They are monitoring the restoration of Canaveral with great interest. Upon taking the base, the PC could tap into the outpost's databanks and learn about the overall location of all Enclave bases.

You could also throw in a cool little scenario with advanced communications. Canaveral could contact all the known major players - BoS, Enclave, NCR, Legion, West Coast BoS, Vegas, The Institute, Ronto, The Pitt, and so fourth. I'm sure something cool could come of it. These factions could vie for Canaveral's alliance, and the player could choose to nuke say..... Shady Sands, Vegas, or the Citadel. It would also be interesting to use orbital installations to view the condition of the rest of the world.

DLCs would take you to a functioning space station were you get to nuke some foreign threats to North America, and a Canaveral expedition could be sent to Cuba to investigate Communist bases and missile silos existing there before the war began.

In Tactics St. Louis basically looks like D.C. with super mutants. The MWBOS staged an assult on the City of St. Louis the Super Mutants however won the battle. So Tactics left off a possible BOS counter attack. Oh the people of St. Louis are very friendly just don't go into the inner-city neighborhoods cops will also warn you.

I haven't played Tactics. I'm saving it for when I want some Fallout and am sick of New Vegas. Interesting.

And I assume the last part is about real life. I have family in St. Louis, and though I love them, they might actually taint my perspective of the place. That and the humidity. And I just don't like where I've been in the Midwest. Oh well.

Texas. It sounds really ideal because, stereotypically (not sure if texans are actually like this but i live in Australia so, meh), are very patriotic, ignorant, pro-guns, extremely religious and racist. Bethesda obviously gets their ideas from racial stereotypes (I mean just look at the swampfolk in point lookout) so, once again, i dont mean to offend anyone by saying that and i dont actually believe it but focusing on these things could build quite a unique falout setting.

They said major events were canon, probabpy because thry didn't like ideas such as the hairy deathclaw... It was a safe move on their part, they're probably just going to read everything about Tactics a bunch of times and base a game off of it (hopefully Fallout 4)...

I'm ok with this, though I did like the hairy deathclaws, they looked so cuddly!!!

Oh I already have it. From Steam. The thing is, the resolution patch needs special work for Steam so I don't want to fiddle with it unless I really want some Fallout.

hey guys, what if you and all the other vaultdwellers come out of the vault and settle down somewhere, and the camp/city/town you are setteled gets raided and u and some other people survive/get enslaved. u must track down to peoples who killed everyone and must kill them. on your way you'll find many adventures and meet new people (good and bad) who need your help to.

Maybe St. Louis could be where the MLA is trying to form a government, that'd be pretty cool.

Any mention of the Mutant Liberation Army would be cool, for it would mean the Barnaky Ending of Tactics bame the canon one.

Pacific Northwest. The Olympia-Tacoma-Seattle sprawl. Lets get some green in the background too.

Jus starting with the most recognizable symbols of the area you have the Space Needle and Monorail built for the 1962 Worlds Fair, then you add/adapt sites like the Capitol building in Olympia (already nice Federal style architecture), University of Washington, Ballard locks and Elliot Bay, the bus tunnel under the city, I-5 freeway covered over by Freeway Park and the Convention Center, Boeing Field, Payne Field, Nike Site Hill, Fort Lawton, the former Sand Point NAS, lots of nice bridges over water and between hills, floating bridges (which may/may not be floating anymore - or floating in quite the way they were named for) etc.

Nearby you have US Naval Station Everett, McChord AFB, Fort Lewis, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bangor Strategic Weapons Facility (that's nuclear missile submarines and associated warhead storage), Whidbey Island NAS, Tulalip, Muckleshoot and Nisqually Indian Reservations, McNeil Island Federal Prison, rivers, lakes, hills and mountains.

Yeah, I lived there most of my life and I could see the area adapted as a Fallout setting VERY easily. The longer I think about it the more spots in the area I think of that would fit.

If the game were to take place in Chicago then some of the most recognizable places are the Sears Tower, the "L" (elevated train), The entire lake front, The john Hancock building, Chinatown, The Field Muesuem, The Shedd Aquarium, The Adler Plantarium, The Muesuem of Science and Industry, Wrigley Field, Comisky Field (U.S Cellar), The United Center, Daley Plaza, Grant Park, Lincoln Park Zoo, Soldier Field, McCormick Center, Navy Pier, Brookfield Zoo, The Water Tower, Michigan Ave. Bridge, Plus all the other bridges in Chicago there are 37 movable bridges. Further away from the the city there's Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Straved Rock State park, A system of Waterways that link the Great Lakes to The Mississippi River which empties into The Gulf of Mexico. There is a lot of Forests outside of Chicago, The Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, The Indiana Sand Dunes. Those are just the places off the top of my head

It can't be long before the next thread appears, I suggest that it has a poll listing the most popular suggestions. The ones I've noticed cropping up again and again are New York, New Orleans, Seattle, Chicago and somewhere outside the US.

Quote this if you agree and it might happen.

I just started playing NV again (for the first time since beating Dead money) and though of a couple things that could be improved that I think others might have overlooked:
1. being able to pick up just about every thing: I really want to pickup the cow skulls or skeletons laying around to decorate a room in my characters house, but you cant annoyingly enough.
2. Enemies should notice and react to dead bodies-Id also like quests that emphasize using stealth so that hiding bodies not only has a purpose, but is necessary. They should also try to find bodies if they see blood/chunks. The only issue with this is it'd be a [censored] for those with the bloody mess perk. I also think i'd be cool if bodies continued to bleed while draging them, thus making a trail and making you need to think more about how/where to kill someone. There should also be speach options (maybe tied to chrisma and a factions opinion of you) that allows you to get people to temporarily follow you (they wouldn't fight for you or even follow you outside of the building/town/immediate area, so that you cant use people as followers so you could lead them to an isolated room. not sure if the bleeding think is even possible...
The rest has probably been mentioned already
3. better AI-I like that if they are almost dead and alone they will run away, but they should say something instead of just randomly running and maybe yelling and they should be smart about trying to get away, not just going around a corner and crouching down like I can't see them
4. better weapon models-you know there bad when I'm using a machete and my roommate thinks its a stick
5. a more populated world-come on, it's been over 250yrs there has to be some progress. I think it'd be cool to have a theme of the wasteland being tamed and starting to become more civilized (not too much of course, this is FO after all), maybe have one of the main quest lines (assuming theres different branches like NV) be to destroy a/a couple cities to keep the wasteland from being civilized
6. better stealth mechanics- If I stealth kill someone in a crowded room, not only should everyone freak out, but they shouldn't automatically jump up, make a bunch of noise, and start shooting me. One should go get the sheriff or someone in charge, while others try to find the killer. IE make the ai more realistic and believable. Also, if I kill everyone in a building/room and on one escapes, or even just a lone person, I SHOULD NOT be attacked by everyone on upon leaving said room. Same thing when I kill someone with a silenced weapon in a building w/ lots of people, but where no one can see me or the person I killed. Another good thing to add would be that upon finding a body the AI not only looks for killers and gets sheriff/gaurds, but all the ai also look for someone carrying the murder weapon, forcing you to either hid bodies or ditch the weapon
7. When I shoot a gun around the corner from enemies that don't know I'm there, they should come running to see what happened. and enemies should be smart enough to actually use cover (my crouching behind stuff and poping up, also if I snipe someone in a crowed the others should all run to get behind stuff and try to look for me, instead of instantly knowing where I am, or standing in the open like morons) and not just charge at me.
8. more AI improvements- have them wonder more, walk in/out of buildings, open and close doors, instead of sticking to a few general areas
9. Perks for specific types of guns- If I want to specalize in a specific weapon type (one more specific than the skills menu, such as sniper rifles, shotguns, or laser pistoles) there should be perks that significantly increase damage of said weapon type, but sig lower all others. There should be one for every type of weapon and you should only be able to take two max. If you take two (lets say shotguns and sniper rifles for example), then both are rasied, but the lowering effect of said perk doesn't effect the weapon type of the other. Otherwise taking two would just cancel out the effects of each other.
10. Explosives should be a LOT more powerful, but more rare-Rocket launchers, granades, ect. should kill any non/lightly armored human instantly. A Fat man,esp being so rare, should kill ANYTHING in one hit.
11. BOSS TYPE ENEMIES!!!!- I dislike the lack of such a think...the only thing that comes close are the highest death claw variations in NV (not sure what they are called. I didn't explore that quarry at all)
12. new enemies in addition to the old-stop just reusing the same old enemies. I'd like more enemies that are very dangerous and monsterous like the deathclaws. Also, it shouldn't be able to run 10X faster than you so that you actually have a chance to run from it, unlike the death claws and cadazzors.
13. bigger map-Is it just me, or does the oblivion map feel slightly bigger than FO3, and a LOT bigger than NV...

Thats it for now. I'll probably think of more later.

another thing: more collectables. I loved hunting for pre-war books in FO3 and was disappointed to not find a collector for them in NV as well. So many games have lots of collectibles, open world games should have far more.
I'd also like more variation in what people say outside of conversation. Its annoying when an AI that's looking for you says "anybody there, maybe I'm just jumpy" over and over again...

taking place in Atlanta Georgia and surrounding area, Fallout 5 (i say 5 as this thread says future fallout locations and I think they are already making 4)
The Enclave and BoS have started a war over Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in hopes of taking the planes and fling to take over another country. The enclave want to re group with there comrades over seas to re take America and put it back into there control (they would use a normal Vertibird but it doesn't have a high enough fuel complicity). The BoS want to find and discover other country's to use there technology against them and the enclave And create a new government for the new United states. The Airport is the last truly working air port after the great war. (Atlanta used all its power to create a shield to protect the airport so when the bombs had landed the people could be evacuated to a secret island built 60 miles off the coast of Antarctica. Sadly the shields went off after the bombs and the toxic rain killed off most of the people who were there. All of hume became ghouls making it the top ghoul home in the US. There are still 30 planes set and ready to fly the skys once again. This praised area has been the cause of many battles but now because of the Talons the Enclave have gotten a slight advantage. (the Talons are working for the Enclave because of money)

The newest faction to join the war is the Reapers. Joining to protect the ghouls and to keep the Enclave and Brother hood from aquiering the Air port. Because of the Reapers know how of ghouls they have been able to put all the airport defenses back online (except the shield) and have managed to talk the ghouls into taking arms to defend there home. the war has been going to the reapers so far but no all is surton in war.

OR

Fallout 4
The Southern Capital
You are a vault dweller of vault 46 located in Atlanta Georgia. You are born into a time of war for Georgia as its largest faction The Red Arrow is planing on taking on the north after a group of BoS members where found. The BoS attacked the Red Arrows thinking they where monsters. This made the red arrow mad and ever sense have been planing on destroying what ever is up in the north. Your vault is cot in the middle as during one of there battles your vault was uncovered and was taken hostage by the BoS. You get lucky and escape in hopes of freeing your vault. You find out the Red Arrow is a large group of animal tamers that controls a total of 74% of the new southern states. There numbers have grown with the addition of a group of talking death claws. There numbers out rival the north 9 to 1 but there technology is low as there only weapons are automatic cross bows and the animals they tame. Whos side will you choose in hopes of freeing your vault or destroying it.

Fallout 4
The Frozen War
You are a marine protecting Alaska from the Chinese. After the Great war what was left of china was sent to Alaska in hopes of taking what metal and oil that was left to rebuild there home land but were greeted by an odd site. A USA army protecting the land. Alaska at the time was the only state not to get a vault so it suffered much. Like much of the world there was a large toxic rain that had infected the state but it wasn't the same. The cold had turned the rain to snow. It had the same effects but it hit harder and only lasted a simple 2 days. The clouds however staid as if frozen in place by the very snow it produced. The Chinese where scared of this fact when they where sailing here claiming that they looked like floating mountains. Most Alaskans died. all who were left were marines whos bases had bunkers. This battle has been going on for 177 years and still is strong. Will you keep the fight going or will you end it.
side note (most creatures here are smaller or fatter compared to there waste land counter parts)

Fallout 4
Island of fire
You are a child who was put into vault one build out of the Hawaiian Volcano. The lava was drained and used to help make small islands far from the main land in hopes of actually making a new country safe from the war. this plan failed as the war started before the island had cooled. back at Hawaii Vault one was finish being built and was free for all of the islanders. You are five and your family had the lucky fortune of getting in line next to your best friend. As you get closer to the door you start to hear buzzing and every one looks up. The nukes had arrived but the ships defending the island where able to fight off most. Seeing the bombs your family runs for the vault. The door starts shutting and you are lifted in the air. your dad throws you there the door with your best friend right before it closes. Only half the island made it in. Once in you are taken to a large cryostasis bed where you will sleep for 100 years. Once awake some people leave the vault. Many are dead. You meat you best friend and you both go out to see this new world. once grown you find your new homes government is corrupt and wants to turn all of Hawaii into slaves. You fight for your freedom finding monsters mutated by the toxic rain. (the only old fashion monsters are ghouls and Mirelurks. The rest are sea based creatures who evolved thanks to the toxic rain. ) You explore all the islands in homes of gaining followers to over throw this government. Will you take over and lead or will you just be as corrupt as the last leader.

These are good ideas. like the first 1 the most.

I think the next DLC should be in an amusemant park of some sort. That would be great for introducing new weapons, foods, and perks. Maybe an evil clown...
