Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestion Topic. #5

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:50 am

I think some weapon related location would be better for that. Think what could be done with everything in Tennessee, but I have to admit I would like Dixie to be the location for the next game regardless. The benefits would be that it gives the Capital come time to develop behind the screens, but it's close enough for us to hear about them. If the location is also close enough to the MWBOS, they could be a factor and from them we could learn about the Enclave near Chicago.

Jus starting with the most recognizable symbols of the area you have the Space Needle and Monorail built for the 1962 Worlds Fair, then you add/adapt sites like the Capitol building in Olympia (already nice Federal style architecture), University of Washington, Ballard locks and Elliot Bay, the bus tunnel under the city, I-5 freeway covered over by Freeway Park and the Convention Center, Boeing Field, Payne Field, Nike Site Hill, Fort Lawton, the former Sand Point NAS, lots of nice bridges over water and between hills, floating bridges (which may/may not be floating anymore - or floating in quite the way they were named for) etc.

Nearby you have US Naval Station Everett, McChord AFB, Fort Lewis, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bangor Strategic Weapons Facility (that's nuclear missile submarines and associated warhead storage), Whidbey Island NAS, Tulalip, Muckleshoot and Nisqually Indian Reservations, McNeil Island Federal Prison, rivers, lakes, hills and mountains.

Yeah, I lived there most of my life and I could see the area adapted as a Fallout setting VERY easily. The longer I think about it the more spots in the area I think of that would fit.

It's diff got all the right elements.

Because it was not yet fully civilized. It has the Hoover Dam and is in the middle of the two super powers of the Wasteland. NCR and the Legion.

It also has not been in any Fallout game before. Why do people want to go back when there is still so much of America left unseen?

Because it will be a new game engine that lets you explore more.

NCR is as civilized and developed as pre-war america at this point, would you have much fun walking around your home town, even if you had a pip-boy?

There's no Desert around Chicago but I think the world would be turned into one big desert because of the extent of the Great War. Although there is such a thing as a cold desert

He, my home town would be really interesting. It's got a lot of history in and under it. I wouldn't mind walking around blowing things up.

I am fully for Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and Milwaukee. The MWBOS is the main reason they have a bigger fight against Super Mutants in St. Louis and Raiders in Illinois. Plus why would you want to jump from east coast to west coast to east coast doesnt make much sense really.

Texas, El Paso, would be awesome because I doubt it would change much lol.

Texas in general would be nice, an old western theme suits Fallout.

Seeing as Mexico was all ready [censored], I doubt they were hindered much by the fallout. So a plot focused around Texas Rangers defending their land from Mexican invaders would awesome, maybe taking place in San Antonio (Alamo).

We could have Natives Americans too, though there aren't to many tribes left here in Texas (then again this isn't really standard history).

My two cents.

I really love large urban settings with surrounding countryside. The East Coast somewhere would be perfect for this. I'm hankering for lots and detail and intricacy in the landscape. With some caves and tunnels, underground subways, underground cities. Like Atlanta maybe. Or just an old East Coast city with some history like we had in the DC Wasteland. Chicago would be excellent as well.

I really don't care for the country and western theme at all. I get bored just thinking about it.

I'd love to get back to the atmosphere of Fallout 3. Yes. I said it.

Texas. It sounds really ideal because, stereotypically (not sure if texans are actually like this but i live in Australia so, meh), are very patriotic, ignorant, pro-guns, extremely religious and racist. Bethesda obviously gets their ideas from racial stereotypes (I mean just look at the swampfolk in point lookout) so, once again, i dont mean to offend anyone by saying that and i dont actually believe it but focusing on these things could build quite a unique falout setting.

I live in Texas and I hate to say this too, but you are pretty much right on the mark. There are cities like Houston(has a lisbian mayor) and Austin(it's a college town) that are more liberal, but for the most part it's very conservative here. My mother is from England and I'm not originally from Texas, so you're not offending me. I would actually hate to see a Fallout game set in Texas though. Not unique at all. Unless you are from Australia I suppose. Then it would be. But no. Bleh. I'm going to catch hell for my comment I think. :cryvaultboy:

I wouldn’t mind a post apocalyptic UK. It would have to be an English speaking country and Canada is ruled out because of the demonization it got in Fallout 3 with the non railroad "I make robots that look like men" dudes. It would work here in Australia, but no 1 cares about us and in the draughts we already look like a post apocalyptic nation. I would recommend Alaska in the future because the scenery would be very distinct and I would like to see the Fallout world outside of the desolate wastelands and into a mutated Garden of Eden. Hey, here is an Idea. It is still techniquly (?insert correct spelling) America, but how awesome would it be to have a fallout world in Hawaii!!!

Hawaii is Iconic, has a jungle and if you like you could chuck in your own little volcanic eruption if you want too. Come on, How awesome would it be to come out of your vault to look at a ******* BEECH!!!

If it's another desert i'm gonna go AWOL. No really, we need urban areas with streets and plenty of enterable buildings.

Or maybe my backyard. With a few work here and there, my backyard can become a fallout universe. It has bugs and big ditches. We can make the character get shrunken and fight in the "Backyardian wasteland."

New York works to...

Moar dezerts plz. Seriously, I love them. And they have been so prevalent in Fallout that it just feels right to be in a desert. New Mexico/Arizona game would be amazing.
