Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestions Topic #12

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 1:09 pm

That's more territory covered by STALKER and Metro 2033 among others.
Anyways, the 50's American theme is a strong must have in the Fallout series, so I don't see a future game taking place anywhere but the United States.

Don't get me started on this again, fallout is a global lore and can very well be in China, USSR and Europe to. And only DC area is 100% 50′s theme style dig-ed to deep.

Russia in Fallout (USSR) was also nuked to hell, just like the rest of the world. There is no reason at all to have a DLC that will take us from America, to another part of the world. It would just be stupid.

Yes the hole world was nuked to hell, maybe not parts of S-amarica, Africka and type small pacific ilands.

There is any reason to have a DLC that will take us from America, to another part of the world. It would just be a splendid game.

global lore and its only gives more wayes to mack a grate atorry to fill the lore even more whit.

The US was also nuked to hell, I personally think it would be interesting to have a game or a DLC in another country somewhere down the line.

Yeah, you are new and all so you might not know this, just he will support anything that is outside of America. Cause he thinks everything that is in America will be anywhere else in the world. Even though pretty much everything we know in Fallout is American only.

I am not against locations outside of America. Its just that most of the American content will not be in a game that takes place outside of North America.

As for a DLC, there is no logical reason for a DLC that will send us from America to another part of the world and then back again. How would we get there and back? Why would we go there? There is no logic behind a DLC that would send us to another part of the world.

The only possibility I see working would be from US to Canada or Mexico. Maybe Detroit to Toronto, or Seattle to Vancouver.

1. San Francisco and LA were already covered in either Fallout (LA) or Fallout 2 (SF), and would now undoubtedly be apart of the NCR. Most, if not all of California would be under NCR control by the time of New Vegas. Unless the NCR were to crumble after the final battle at Hoover Dam, which is unlikely since they're probably just going to have a change in governing, and the NCR name will still be around, I doubt we'll be seeing those places anytime soon.

2. As has already been stated several times by others, replaying the Lone Wanderer would kill any chance of being able to RP. If we were to play the Lone Wanderer again, that's all we could be, we couldn't be anything else. The back history of our character, would already be there, and we couldn't change that. It's best to do as New Vegas did with the Courier, and give us a blank slate that gives us hints and chances to fill in minor parts of our history, but not like Fallout 3 did, which was a bad move.

Kansas might not be that interesting of a state, but it still had plenty of landmarks and things, that could make it interesting. Plus, deadly tornados might be a cool thing to have?

I hear you. But the option of a few different character choices would make it a different game with each selection. As for F1 and F2. Never played them and they certainly weren't done like three. Choosing a location that is iconic, not just to Americans would be the go.

Fallout is an RPG so you make your own character. If you want your character to be the Lone Wanderer than role play as the Lone Wanderer. Fallout and Fallout 2 aren't done like Fallout 3 and New Vegas but you should still give them a shot.

I will actually. As far as choosing a character, I meant having the option to choose a character, all of which have different story lines thus defining the goals/quests etc of that person of which you choose. totally dif game each time. Could be interesting. Would be a challenge for the developers maybe.

I got what you meant. The orginals Fallout had it so you could pick a character. I don't want that back in Fallout. I never used a pre-made character. But even then it didn't change the game world. It would be bad IMO to have options to be the Lone Wanderer or the Courier. Just role play them if you want. Make the character in Fallout 4 just like the guys you made in the last game and go on from there.

I gotta play F1 and F2. I would hope that whatever is chosen that the size of the area to explore is much larger than those before it. I don't think anyone wants the game to end

It's best if you just make a character from your own imagination. It's more likely than not, that if Bethesda tried what you're saying, they'd screw it up. Not that I want that in there, I'm for people using their imagination to make and play a character, not wait for someone else to make some presets. If you want to be the Lone Wanderer again, then so be it, but it should be only through your imagination that he/she is that old Protagonist. The Protagonist should always have a blank slate for a past, that can be filled in with bits and pieces, if you want, like in New Vegas.

Several protagonists each with their own major quest and side quests could be a task for developers. As far as location, they did state that initially they wanted to do the west coast but went with DC. I think this time they'll hit the west.

You can already do that, by following a certain faction. The need for several preset protagonists with different quests, isn't needed and a waste of time to what could be added in the space all that would take up. Just create a character for yourself that follows this certain path, and follow it. Then make another, that follows another. Simple.

And they already did the West, with New Vegas. Beth is probably going to stick with the Eastern end of the country, or elsewhere other than the West, for FO4.

Yes, buy and play Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics. You can get all three pretty cheap :foodndrink:

I would hope that whatever is chosen that the size of the area to explore is much larger than those before it.

Fallout and Fallout 2 aren't about exploration just like how New Vegas isn't about exploration. Doesn't mean there isn't places to explore. If you haven't played New Vegas, play that as well. The game worlds of the orginals aren't as big as the new games bu they are awesome none-the-less.

I don't think anyone wants the game to end

Not sure what you mean by this. Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Fallout New Vegas all have multiple endings based on how you play the game. I very much want all Fallout games to have an ending. Even Fallout 3 had an ending, it was total crap but it was an ending.

From the sounds of it, Fallout 3 is the only Fallout you have played. Not bashing you, but the sooner you play New Vegas or the orginals the better.

yes true!

i know it will be hard to move the game direct to Europe and USSR but as i pointed out earlier it will be slowly mowed away via alaska, hawaii and china, lore we already know about and ad lore that's needed for the next game...

wow, that vulpes thing would make for a great plot for the game, also does legion have any secure lands in florida? if not an invasion could be an quite thrilling aspect if done right
No the only lands Legion hold are the one around Central South West, like Arizona, Denver, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico
A list of their known locations can be found on the right, slightly down the pape http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Caesars_Legion

The only information known about Florida is that it was going to be the setting for Tactics 2 and that the Brotherhood would be there as well. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Florida

Is this hypothetical?
No it's factual :spotted owl:

hehe nice link about the legion, "This page needs content. You can help by adding a sentence or an image!" hehe good to know.

its also a big chans they have mowed down to Mexico and if they control a cost area or a major river they will have done some exploring by ship′s and build colony's and trade-stations all around the caribbean, so they can have a hub in Florida to.. but not more then a hub i guess.

I have no idea why the link says that, hopefully that's it fixed now.
Unless everything on their Eastern borders to Florida is tribal lands I don't see them being there with how they currently operate. For them to get there they'd, I assume, have tried assilmating all the opposing factions on the way and by the time they get to Florida it'd be more than just a hub but a town - how major though I don't know
I'd like the Legion to develop more into the Roman role but keep their harsh brutal image of Justice - but since their traders can freely enter other factions lands as caravaners they seem to have it made for them now. Hopefully heavy fortified cities all interlinking make up their lands.

yes probably.

i was more thinking about that the infrastructure is no more on land so movement on land will be slow so the only working infra structure is my sea. to have trade and transports by ship′s.....and as you say " I'd like the Legion to develop more into the Roman role " it can be fun to mack the caribbean in to the Roman Empire style off world. And whit all the fun parody encounter spec in the 2 first games the Caribbean roman empire will fit well in to the lore.
