Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestions Topic #12

I dont like the Legion either...too roman for my liking, yes yes yes we could play Fallouticus and lead a gladitoral upraising! NAH! The legion should pop us like the BOS/Enclave in NV bands and patrols nothing more....out of the deserts give me a dead forest out side of Detroit....

I would love to be able to explore the MOTOR City and visit Canada like Point Look out my favorite DLC so far!

No City seems fun after you have lived in it for a while, but once bombs start falling and factions move in they get a whole lot better.

100% correct on that!

Its a huge city with metros and stuff, and it is sort of historical. And it is eight next to two more states, so they could say that it is in multiple states.

Only real reason you recognized DC is that Bethesda made it intact, when it really shouldn't have been.
Metros? I prefer if beth stayed away from metros.

We need more lore for the Legion.

No we don't.

Well, maybe we can have more lore, but that doesn't mean we need to set the next game in their territory or anything.

I'll never really understand why people didn't like the metros in Fallout 3. To me they added an excellent atmospheric touch.

What ^That^ guy said. I liked the metro tunnels, brought me back to my days of exploring the abandoned tunnels of Chicago's aqueduct system. Also reminded of the city beneath the city. Good atmosphere, but I wish some parts could've been a bit darker.

The odd metro dosen't hurt, its just that the only way to access any major urban area is by a metro gets old.

I'd like metros in the next Fallout but not a ton like in F3 that blocks off entire parts of the city (so people who dislike them don't complain, I enjoyed them).

They could have it like North Vegas in NV, the poor live in the sewers and are ruled by small gangs.

I know Fallout is pretty much strictly America but I wouldn't mind seeing another English speaking country or any country if I can hear the native language with English subs (just wouldn't feel right listening to a Japanese character in Tokyo speaking in English).

So here would be my list in no particular order.

1. Chicago
2. Australia (No idea what part of Australia but mutated Roos, Crocs, and a bunch of other things that can kill you)
3. Canada (being annexed by America I can see this likely being the only other "Country" we can visit in Fallout)

Compared to the NCR, Brotherhood and the Enclave we know relatively little about the Legion. Having a game that includes Flagstaff will shed some more light on them, all we've seen of them is their army.

you want to see the legion = slaves tons of slave, gladiatorial games, more slaves, feasts, more slaves, statues to ceasar, slaves, slaves, crucifixions, beheading, slaves, burning people alive,....and did i mention slaves?

loved the metros added a dark sense of scale and extended vault like atmosphere but hated that sometimes there were the only way to places.

I would like to a robot heavy place, will many different prototypes or a test area that is still turning out robots, maybe the humans are willing slaves to their creator.....

Great Lakes area. Plently of cities here Chicago, Detriot, Cleveland. Buffalo. Diverse eniviroments, New lore and different factions and creatures. There is no reason why the Next Fallout can't be somewhere in the Great Lakes area.

The whole point I'm making is that no one knows what the citizens of the Legion are like. They most likely aren't going to be very similar to the military which is all we see in New Vegas. The closest thing we see to a Legion citizen is the trader Dale Barton and he seems kind of normal to me.

This.
People think that the legion are all murdering slavers, but the only citizen we see is no different than the NCR citizens. I would love to see the game in Legion territory, because imo they are the most interesting faction. There also wouldn't be people murdering each other in the streets, (Which some people think is all the Legion does) unless Bethesda decides to make the Legion evil and have them team up with the Enclave only to be defeated by the BoS which the PC is forced to join.

next game′s have to be on a bigger map so instead off mack the game on a city i think we have to aim in size of a state, so where can fallout 4, 5, 6, 7,.... be:
  • one of the 50 USA states.
  • one of the Canadian states
  • Mexico
  • an island grope in pacific
  • an island grope in Caribbean
  • chines east cost
  • England, so you who don't lick subtitles can play, but star-wars works fine whit subtitle's so why not fallout!
  • e/w Germany, Berlin
  • Moskva/Leningrad/Stalingrad triangle area
  • Scandinavia
  • Fallout 4 Alaska, DLC Canada
  • Fallout 5 Hawaii, DLC Pacific
  • Fallout 6 Shanghai, DLC Japan
  • Fallout 7 Moscow/Stalingrad/Leningrad
  • Fallout 8 Germany
  • Fallout 9 GB
  • Fallout 10 Scandinavia

A city that I don't think they have done yet that would be a good place of setting would be New York, New York with the outside Rural areas incorporated.

New York is so overused!

A problem with doing an area with the legion is that the player had a choice to kill ceasar and lanius. If you do that part of the country then it would be bad because all of legion army would be basically tiny and about to disappear.

So if you kill the leader, the army disappears?

No, that does not happen. Does killing Kimball in New Vegas cause the NCR's army to slowly disappear? No, it doesn't. They just replace the leader. It would be different having a new Ceasar, but their army wouldn't magically become small.

Think of another place with a large city and a rural area outside it. As I was reading I did see a good idea having a large region. It could include more detail within that idea. Someone should make a discussion topic about it and everyone could add their ideas to it. Also has a fallout game ever done ny. Like did fallout, fallout 2.

Well it kind of does because the morale that army would be down. Also you didn't just kill Caesar you also kill lanius and their high ranking members when you kill caesar in his tent.

What Sebor said, NY is so overused.

I prefer Boston, or somewhere on the East Coast.

NOT Chicago for the love of god, let Obsidian do Chicago! I don't want the best faction ever (The Enclave) to be the bad guys again and have them be destroyed forever!

Yeah I think the enclave is the greatest fraction, but ny is in the east coast and what game uses ny. If some one wants to post a list of games then that's fine I'll stop saying ny. I'm just saying tho it is a good location cause we just did a more rural area (new Vegas) and now we should do a place with a large urban area and a large rural area.

Plus ny hasn't been done by bethseda. They could make one for fallout 4. It not like the same game maker is making the same game and setting. There would be differences. Bethseda I think has the most experience with building large cities like dc (I'm not saying their not capable of building a rural area, I'm saying that it would be better if they buit a urban area).

Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, Seattle, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Dallas, Austin, St. Louis, Denver, and many others are just as good as New York City and less generic.

There has not been a Fallout game set in New York or anywhere in the north east for that matter. Fallout 1 was southern California, Fallout 2 was nothern California, Fallout: Tactics (which I started playing today and I am absolutely loving) is in the Mid West, and I am sure you know the other two.

Yeah I think the enclave is the greatest fraction, but ny is in the east coast and what game uses ny. If some one wants to post a list of games then that's fine I'll stop saying ny. -inFamous
-Crysis 2
-Prototype
-Prototype 2 (not yet released)

And that's just what I got from my shelf! Here is a list of videogames set in New York City -->http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_set_in_New_York_City AND here is a list of movies set in New York City--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_set_in_New_York_City

Its overused.

There are never enough differences, besides after a nuclear war NYC is likely to become a giant crater which would flood with water from the Long Island Sound.

Why should it be set in a city though?
A more rural and wintery enviroment with a few scattered settlements would be far more interesting than a city.
