Official: Future Fallout Locations Suggestions Topic #15

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:27 pm

To elaborate on two points made above, "setting" can refer to a time and situation as much as a place. This thread should also be used for any such discussion for any potential Fallout titles, not just Fallout 4.

psssssssssst... Four Corners.

We know its gonna be around Chicago, because it is the easy route. We know some of what has gone on there.
Though, I would rather see an entirely new place that wasnt:
A ) Part of a cancelled game

or
B ) Picks up where a previous game made by another dev left off

I would Rather see a continuation of the CW or perhaps The Commonwealth as they were introduced by Beth.. Beth should continue with theirs in order for it to be a sequel.

Still.. Four corners hah

Bethesda has said they don't want to continue other peoples work, or something along the line of that. They messed with Fallout 1 and 2, but more with the factions and art, etc.

If they are in Chicago they are right where tactics was, so I don't see Bethesda actually putting it in Chicago.

What about Brahmin Wood? Not Chicago as a whole, but still part of it.

But either way, I think it is too close for Bethesda to actually do it.

It really depends on who makes it. Beth somewhere around D.C. or anywhere on the east coast. But nowhere snowy we just got Skyrim. If obsidian makes it let them continue on the west coast. But one particular location? Florida

I also hate to say it but Bethesda did say "The High-Level Events" of Tactics are canon. Unless they go into more detail, they could change locations like Brahmin Wood. I hope they don't because I feel Tactics is all canon. But the game says the MWBoS found themselves on the "outskirts of a city once called Chicago." Outskirts isn't really the city itself.

Well it might depend on who you ask, because cities also include metropolitan areas which live in the cities areas. There are also downtown parts of the city which are the largest, that is what most people would consider the "city" part, but the outskirts could mean right outside of the downtown area, or it might not, so Brahmin wood would be in some part of Chicago. But it depends on how Bethesda wants to deal with Tactics.

agreed on the suburbs of cities.
An aexample: from the US/Mexico border all the way up to Del Mar is within the San Diego City limits, even if they aren't awhat you'd call San Diego proper.

True they could always move it to way outside of the Chicago area if need be. I haven't looked at a map lately of Tactics and Chicago so I don't know where Brahmin Wood is in relation to real life.

If Bethesda decides on Chicago and they decide to move Brahmin Wood, I hope they make mention of it in the game. Then again by the time Fallout 4 comes out it would have been almost 100 years or more since Fallout Tactics and BW was just a small tribal town, it could easily be said that it was absorbed by the MWBoS and no longer exists.

next game′s have to be on a bigger map so instead off mack the game on a city i think we have to aim in size of a state, so where can fallout 4, 5, 6, 7,.... be:
  • one of the 50 USA states.
  • one of the Canadian states
  • Mexico
  • an island grope in pacific
  • an island grope in Caribbean
  • chines east cost
  • England, so you who don't lick subtitles can play, but star-wars works fine whit subtitle's so why not fallout!
  • e/w Germany, Berlin
  • Moskva/Leningrad/Stalingrad triangle area
  • Scandinavia

  • Fallout 4 New England
  • Fallout 5 Alaska, DLC Canada
  • Fallout 6 Hawaii, DLC Pacific
  • Fallout 7 Shanghai, DLC Japan
  • Fallout 8 Moscow/Stalingrad/Leningrad
  • Fallout 9 Germany
  • Fallout 10 GB
  • Fallout 11 Scandinavia

New England whit all those old buildings and stuffs!

And then build more about he Cthulhu lore and have a visit to Miskatonic University in Arkham and other similar places, the lore already exist in the game!

I agree with the fact that California would be boring.to be in the middle of the NCR would compromise any good main quest. Bethesda must do brand new something unseen. so no California no east coast, may be not even Chicago.
Texas Florida could be good locations

I haven't really played tactics so I had to look it up, it is really close the where Chicago would be, it is just a little bit off of the lake.

Anyways my top three places

1. Philadelphia - easily continues the story of Fallout 3, hopefully they don't move too much Fallout 3 there though.
2. Seattle - would be cool to see, and they could have NCR just arriving in the area, and you could decide their fate there, it would also help decide what is canon in New Vegas if NCR showed up
3. Miami and the Florida Keys - would almost force Bethesda to use a node map system

It is time to fill out some gaps in lore. Putting FO4 in an entire new location, not mentioned, would mean unanswered questions remain unanswered.

So, if in Florida, unless they pull more "hey I decided to move to Florida for no particular reason" means likely no news from West or DC.

Philly could give news on DC, but probably none from the west.

Chicago could offer up both. DC area people could show up, perhaps BoS searching for Enclave or MWBoS.

Mojave people could show up, for example maybe Veronica heads looking for MWBoS, or other WCBoS, and with them news. Or, escaped slaves from Legion. Or both.

As it stands folks, we do not know the canon ending of three games, and frankly, that all needs to be answered in the next FO title, and preferably, not in a one liner.

What's all this florida crap? I'd rather see New Orleans or Texas if not California.

Maybe even Arizona or New Mexico.

If its done by Obsidian then yes to Arizona(Flagstaff in particular) because they can handle that lore heavy region.

I feel that if Bethesda makes Fallout 4 then they should do it in Florida. That might just force them to come up with their own ideas, instead of recycling from the originals.

I'd trust Obsidian with New Mexico, though Bethesda should stay as far away from it as possible partly because it's near the lore heavy west coast, but mostly because of an irresistible urge for them to include Area 51 which will inevitably lead to more insultingly stereotypical little green aliens.

Texas contains...bad memories of things best left unmentioned.

I have no personal opinion on New Orleans, though it could be interesting.

California should be avoided completely by both companies. Its been in two of the games already and it is the centre of the NCR's territory which would make any game set in it more then a little dull.

According to the map I found on the wiki Brahmin Woods wouldn't be the city center just the suburbs. So if they were to make a Chicago setting there's still a bunch more that they could do.

And I like all three of those suggestions

Yup. That appears to be right where East Chicago sits now, which is technically in Indiana.
