3.4 Spells
There must be a choice to create or buy spells that gain magnitude according to your skill or level, like in TES2. Most of them sort of leveled with you, so they never became useless like most of the spells in TES4. TES2 spell creating system is superior to anything seen after that, so wouldn't it be just reasonable to go back a few steps?

I miss making spells with damage rating like "20 + 5 per 2 levels".

Bit of a pervy suggestion, but i thought of it when playing Fallout. Fallout had an 18 rating yet the body meshes were clothed... I'd like naked body meshes with equippable underwear if we are going to have any rating of 18+ on the game. *vaguely wonders about the humours of enchanting underwear with personality +5pt or charm 20pt ... hehehe

Here are 5 ideas I have.

1. My first idea is being able to become a bandit/highwayman. Join up at a bandit camp and kill oncoming travelers for their items and gold or become a highwayman and simply demand it from them. Either way this would add a much more evil way to make money and it would be interesting with enemies you would fight or how the people would respond to you demanding their money. Becoming a bandit would be considerably more dangerous than becoming a Highwayman though as it would be guaranteed that you would have to fight someone.

2. Possibly my favorite mod I downloaded for Oblivion was "Crowded Roads". This added many more people traveling the roads from smugglers to traveling adventurers. It really added a sense of immersion and many times you would be able to have someone help you in a fight. This mod also seemed to add more enemies on the edges of the roads so you almost needed to stop at an inn. It really made traveling much more fun to me.

3. My 3rd idea was the ability to make drinks, not just potions. For example using graqes or other fruits you could create wine. This wine would have different effects and when you "stored" it in a wine cellar, the magnitude and duration of the effects or the value of the wine went up. With this wine you could either drink it or sell it for a profit. These values would go up for every day/week/month of game days it was stored. This would also add a better incentive to buy a house with a wine cellar. You could store your wine and get a profit. With other drinks such as mead you could become a leader of a mead hall and create your own mead! Or you could make other drinks such as beer and use this and other drinks to stock a local inn. You could make some juice from different fruits which you could sell anywhere as well. The possibilities are endless.

4. My forth idea is being able to run a farm or tend to a garden. You could plant "seeds" and when a certain amount of time has passed you could get crops like you see in a farmers field. You could make different things out of these crops or sell them raw to a local store.

5. My fifth idea is becoming the leader or count of a town/stronghold/city/city state and run it. This would create income based on your decisions and you would live in the main building/castle/hall. To get there however you would either have to build the place from scratch similar to the Raven Rock colony questline in Bloodmoon or go through a election or something similar.

Wow, i doubt even half of that will be there but I want to play the game you described!

I think Beth would do well to look at the most popular mods for inspiration. They've already implemented some of the obvious things that were missing from OB like flowers changing model when picked, dismemberment etc. There's so much creativity from people working within the existing system they'd be silly not to at least peruse the ideas.

For me world building is very important and consistency and plausibility should be priorities. This means that they shouldn't just plonk down a dungeon or fort for the hell of it but should try and find believable locations for them. Ie. this is a world in which people live and work and i want to buy into that being possible. So better zoning. Safe areas and deadly areas where appropriate and monsters suitable for the location. If there's a major beast near a settlement there should be a quest generated to kill it.

Like has been said already i'd like to see exclusive loot stay exclusive and be fixed throughout the game. I don't want to get a shiny glass dagger and then see everyone with one. it diminishes the feeling of progression or acheivement. If balancing it is problematic gating its use behind level or stats will esure that you're not going to have people grabbing it and ruling the game too early and even if they do isn't it them spoiling their own fun?

Combat Ai and pathfinding are two things i'd lump together. Please don't let a rock and a bit of patience be all that's needed to kill everything.

People who are not your enemy should have the common sense to NOT run in front of you while you have an arrow drawn on your bow. Seriously i just started a new game in Oblivion and the first thing Glenroy did was run in front of me as i released an arrow at a Mythic Dawn guy. Please no more of this or at least don't give me a bounty for stupidity on the AI's part.

I really hope objects have accurate collision meshes so they don't float above what they are upon.

Well I haven't been here a while and I don't have that many "visits" planned here but there is just something I wanted to say.

So far from what was shown in the teaser I'm anything but impressed by the "plot", yes the view that it's yet another "big bad dragon attacks" storyline.
However there is a quote by Hayao Miyazaki:

"In order to grow your audience, you must betray their expectations."

And I honestly hope they plan on this rather than going the "obvious" way.
They could still do an awesome job by not going to the lowest common denominator and really make it something unexpected, something really surprising instead of just what you could see coming from a mile away.

This may have been covered already, but I don't want to sift through thousands of posts to find it.
I think the Oblivion physics engine needs work. Taking off at a running start on a slope, to have the character first move straight ahead and THEN fall is really annoying. That physics makes it hard to jump when you're running over only, slightly uneven ground. Makes me think my controls are not responding when I KNOW I hit the jump button.
I read once on these forums of someone asking why Oblivion hill slopes were so sticky and I thought, isn't that just natural, the down force of gravity making it harder to traverse the slope? After a closer look, I realized they are sticky. The player doesn't run downhill any faster than running sideways along the slope, or not that I've noticed.
Also, why is it a dead corpse looks like it's being held by a traqeze safety harness system while it's falling? The only ones that I can think of that don't do that are dead bears and wolves. Deer and NPC corpses do and probably a few more.

Edit: I forgot to mention a couple of acrobatics skill perks I would like to see worked on. Not being able to swing my weapon until my acrobatics reached 25 was annoying. Mostly because of the problem physics system I just described above. Trying to chase an opponent down a hill while trying to take swipes at them was no fun for me.
Melee sneak attacks should not slow down when you reach acrobatics 50 skill. Rather it should be the other way around. Slow first and then faster. Of course that probably has nothing to do with acrobatics, but then why did that skill change the sneak attack?
Another acrobatics skill perk that could be fun is being able to do a tumble roll and then jump in mid air to get across wider gaps?

steal marks should be deleted with time, or when going far from the town where you steal the thing.

Get rid of those stupid "Turn back" messages you get when you are on the edge of the map. Although I know we can't swim to infinity like back in Morrowind, surely there has to be a less annoying solution.

Hi !

Here is few ideas that I recommend, I hope that you pick up few of them.

I also mark my favorite ideas with this: *

- BLACKSMITH skill with mining... mine ores then melt them in forge and make armor and other things with anvil and hammer. ("simple" animations like in world of warcraft)
- FLYING MOUNTS like dragons, magic horses, something special & EPIC? maby The Phoenix bird?? Nether Drake?? (like this with diffrent colors) " http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/5272/netherdrakeip4.jpg "
- LEATHERWORK skill for making leather armor, boots, rugs tents & maby something other? (you need to buy tools & everything else from leatherwork shop or you can rarely find them)
- FLYING TOWN/S and DUNGEONS and maby when you achieve level 100 / or other then you can "build" flying home almost anywhere you want...
- maby "GOOD AND EVIL / DARK" MAGIC SKILLS (special spells for both of them)
- NEW & BETTER "RISE DEAD" skill for dark magic carriers
- NEW NATURE MAGIG SKILL ... transform into animal & other nature inspired spells
- MORE REALISTIC MOUTH MOVEMENT
- BETTER VAMPIRES
- ENCHANTING skill ( you need buy everything from enchanters shop )
- BETTER STEALING ( if nobody sees you then guards dont pursue you, but if they see you then they try to catch you if they dont, then they spread the word of you and send guards to other towns to tell about your crime.
- Windows should be like in oblivion with immersive interiors mod
- MORE DIFFRENT ANIMALS

- FIREMAKING (dont need to be skill) + FOOD COOKING
- TENT, SLEEPING BAG & SMALL CHAIR that you can take with you and set up camp anytime you want but not in combat
- REALISTIC PRICES FOR EVERYTHING IN GAME ( jevelry, armor, weapons, leatherwork products, leather & pelt from animals and everything else)
- "REALISTIC LOOKING"! MUSCLES build up when you gain strength skill
- RANDOM EVENTS are good idea like those bar fights, but they should be very very rare

- ABILITY TO SAIL (small boats, canoes, etc.)
- ABILITY TO CLIMB TREES AND HIDE BUSHES
- FEW FUN QUESTS

FACTIONS

At the end of every faction you start getting infinite but simple quests to do like when you were god of madness you could defend your relam
Like at dark brotherhood random citizens start to spawn and you get list to kill them
And At fighters guild you would get random animal/bandit groups to take care of.

MISC

When you kill someone (from a roof or something) and someone notices, then you jump to another roof without anyone noticing, The guards shouldnt know instantly where your at or who you are.

Spears should be in game (they are the most used weapon in the history of man)

I think fast travel should be scrapped and instead they should bring back Boots of Blinding Speed and other crazy speed enhancers.

Well I don't know if it has already been said but it would be nice to have:

more skills just like in Morrowind (heavy, middle, light armor for example),
Oblivion was lacking quite alot of spells: where went teleportation and levitation spells from Morrowind??
a better merchandising skill: in oblivion I never had that skill over 35!!!
and finally a true end-boss; I mean that mage (can't even remember his name...) was dead in a few seconds and the real boss got killed by Martin -> kinda dissapointing

In my opinion Bethesda should look back at Morrowind for quite some stuff which was missing in Oblivion and also somehow was more alive.

-Levitation, teleportation, sanctuary, slowfall, jump, lock.

-The climbing skill.

-Dungeons and houses with hand placed items instead of copy/paste from a list.

-Oodles of unique and useful items, oodles of new books, oodles of conversation topics.

-Hidden quests and repeatable random quests.

-Airborne enemies.

-The ability to fail a quest or take an alternative route or option.

i want it so that the world requires fast travel. by this i mean that it should be large enough to need people fastraveling if they want to get halfway across the map in under an hour

mounts need to be better, there should also be horse drawn carriages (that you can drive FAST down roads)

the only fast travel service (since skyrim does not have stilt striders) should be boats

during fast traveling, there should be a chance of running into danger

I'd prefer the world not to be so big but much more "alive"
Boats would be fine, under the condition there are enough big rivers

On the other hand, I think in Morrowind there was a lack of light and medium armor to choose from. The focus in Morrowind clearly is on Heavy Armor. Maybe it changes in Skyrim and we will get let's say 10 different sets (without unique armor) for every type of armor (light / medium / heavy)

Her we go folks..I'm hoping =)

1. Dynamic Cities, Towns, Etc..
I would love to see Towns, Villages, Cities and Settlements dynamically dwindle or grow based on your characters action and the choices you make during a quest, plus the impacts of a dynamic economy.

2. I want Friends!!! lol =)
Part of Role Playing is creating a virtual life. I would love to see a better and more improved version of the companion mod in the game. Let us hire soldiers, have friends that join us because they believe in our approach to the world, have romantic companions...wives, mistress, girlfriends.... just make the whole social experience more real.

3. I want to be a capitalist!
It would be great to have the ability to build your own castle and homes directly in the game. Have an ingame exchange market where people can add different furniture, buildings, etc. that was created by other players. Where you pay with your game dollar coins. Be able to buy any building in the game, or take it over, but of course...it should be hard. So taking a house from someone requires to be up there in that town where the authority ignore you. Or get what you want from an honorable life of working, owning shops and hiring workers.

4. Faction Wars.
Would love to see dynamic faction turf wars where different factions fight for the same area, and your character can keep the balance or decide to favor one faction over the other. Be great to see a map to show what faction or house of rulers have the authority in different parts of the land. Of course, even have the ability to create peace treaties and alliances. All dynamically done so that each time a play through it, it would be very different.

5. Create Your Armor
It would be great that combining different elements and precious stones together you can create your own custom armor. Also creating dies from plants that you pick to mix and allow you to create different color armor. Maybe you can use "forms" in regards to how the shape of the armor is, but the texture, strengths, color, weight, etc. will depend on the elements and stones that are used.

In my opinion, having allies and friends would be a very good option to be added to the game. Certain quests would have you tagging along with 1 or 2 npcs , they save you when youre in need in a certain quest and you save their skin as a favour in return and I know they did this in oblivion, but i would like to see it happening more frequently. It would certainly make the game feel more immersive. And please take away the camera to npc face thing when youre doing a dialogue. I know it kinda breaks the tradition as oblivion/ fallout series did it, but it just feels like if youre talking to someone, the world freezes around you. Well if you want the cam to npc face dialogue thing, Id like it to be in real time, blacksmiths over the shoulder of the guy ur talking to working on a sword, people walking past - it all adds to the immersive-ness of the game. Sorry for my bad english :o
