NPCs should actually look and act like they're dying when they take serious damage. The player, too. Rather than suddenly turning into big fleshy ragdolls suddenly when they run out of health.
Maybe a sort of limping animation or visible wounds? Some proper death animations would be nice too.

Bring back that thing from Morrowind, where to advance a rank in a guild/faction you needed certain skills at such a level. Why is my knight character archmage? He can barely cast any spells!

NPCs need more variety. Different body models- hunched-over old people, big fat lords, skeletal beggars, y'know.
Also, give Skyrim some children! Then I can finally build that child-bone fortress I've always dreamed of It would really add to ... er ... immersion and stuff.

Yeah it svcks especially for warriors to wait for 24+ to get actual daedric armour from the daedra. And 24lvls in warrior years is like level 300 for mage

psh yeah man that svcks. on oblivion i got dawnfang at level 4 cu zi went straight to shivering isles. it only did 7 damage. so i made a whoel other character just to wait til level 33 then get it at full power..but then i was a high elf mage anyway so...crap... lol. seriously it does more damage then umbra if u get it full powered and i beleive more then goldbrand as well. its the strongest one in the game.

Candles and torches need to be pickup, drop, and movable.

It's a big deal when you're decorating a house.

I agree with most of these suggestions, except for the time consuming hunting. I mean, what's the point of hunting a deer and selling it's meat for 30 g if it takes 10 minutes to skin? Where really, I could just kill a bandit and loot him with a profit of 1000+ g.

Im no active user in these forums but here are my opinions.
Being a fan of good ol Morrowind - Fallout NV, Im actually excited about this new game. Bethesda is improving, with Brink being something new. I have a good feeling about TES:V because of its new unknown engine. (Might be good)

Heres my opinion tho:
I read through these three threads and agree with 90% of them.

I will love to see assassinations.
The Brotherhood made Oblivion interesting for me, it had a good storyline into it.
But I will love to see me snapping someones neck/ or anything assassin related.
If I have high agility and its one of my major skill then I have to be agile! Running/climbing from building to building. Heck, maybe wall run.

Better horses.
Mount battle as people request.

Deeper music!
(Morrowinds music was amazing.
Inns should have people drunk/dancing/singing/fighting.

I dont like the Multiplayer idea.
They should have a online community for the consoles. For example, Able to make user mods available. Like for the examples http://www.rockband.com/rock-band-network and Halo Reach. Its just a thought tho.

Staffs should be one handed.

A shield should be able to push off enemies. Ive seen this on Oblivion but it was at random.

Capes with hoods ;D

In game home customization. Able to move furniture and such.

And these are my ideas.

That doesn't make sense...Because you'd have to have Duel Wielding with that.

And why on Earth would you want to do something like that?

MULTIPLAYER!!!

up to 4 friends playing in the same world with their characters over Live or the internet. (none of that fable bull crap)

in my oppinion this would make it the best game ever. even if it was only two player
mke it were you can toggle between ally or enemy, and you have to confirm whether someone can enter your game or not (so a powerful freind cant just drop in and murder you whenever he/she pleases)

how hard could it be?

PAULDRONS!! why in the name of all that is holy would you take away a customization option from the players??? stop cutting corners.

BEAST RACES DO NOT HAVE HUMAN ANATOMY... once again, cutting corners.

SPEARS! long spears short spears, whos spears? MY SPEARS! give them back!!!

MOUNTED COMABAT! my oblivion character: "hrmm.... it appears that my sword has somehow magically fused with its scabbard and has become unusable whilst sitting atop this horse..strange." come on beth, try not to scrap it this time.

AND WHILE IM AT IT! diverse moutables.... horses, musk ox, rams, giant wolves... goats... i dont know... think about it.
PS- mount armor/saddle bags

lets see... what else miffed me about oblivion....

AH YES!

did someone in Cyrodil slap an embargo on any shipments carrying crossbows, throwing knives, and or any other type of projectile weapon. or did oblivion just take place in some alternate dimension where the inventors of said projectile weapons collectively died in some sort of freak accident at the "annual projectile weapons inventors confrence"?

ALSO. duel wielding.. please?

Well i would like to say something. Don't know if anyone mentioned it allready but in many other rpgs you can get a job like blacksmith, goldsmith, carpenter etc. etc. to earn a profit. I wouldnt say no to something like that and i also would like some more interaction with the game. Player driven economy, political interface, a player accordin to his fame, will be able to controll cities or create his own guild, shops, places after gathering all the resources to do that of course and many many other thingies like that. Just saying it sounds pretty awesome to me

I don't want my high level character during a quest being overwelmed in a cut scene.

Example level 28 of 30, at the final boss stage, suddenly my character gets put to sleep in a cut scene and wakes up naked in a cell... My character can shrug off mutliple stab wounds, fireballs and demons from the Abyss, but he and his entire party can get put to sleep with ease. So many games do this and it fustrates me.

Remove the cap to the number of times per level you can use trainers to up your skills. I'm tired of being forced to grind every playthrough.

Things I do not want to see in Skyrim:

1.) Multiplayer.
  • No. Just no. It would divert resources from areas that are far more important to the core gameplay of the series. The simple truth is that TES games are designed to be a single player experience. I do not want to see that change.
  • There are so many ways that the single player experience can be improved, and I would be very upset if Bethesda spent any time working on some sort of multiplayer mechanic instead of focusing on improving the single player gameplay. Multiplayer would sully the integrity of the franchise...
  • If you want multiplayer, hope for Zenimax to make that MMO.

2.) Guns.
  • Just no. Play Fallout if you want to play with guns. Keep the weapons appropriate to the game world.

3.) V.A.T.S.
  • Same as above. It wouldn't work in this game without completely altering the gameplay mechanics.
  • They would have to retool the physic of the magic and projectile system, and the changes would necessarily make the experience much more FPS-like because spells would have to fire much more quickly, to the point of being nearly instantaneous...

4.) Voiced Player Character.
  • I want to imagine my character's voice; I don't want to hear some generic voice that represents my character.
  • TES games are not cinematic. They are personal experiences. It's about how you shape the world around you.
  • This is also why I'm against multiplayer and cutscenes, and anything that breaks immersion or restricts your ability to make the world your own.

5.) Cutscenes.
  • See above...
  • I'm okay with maybe an opening cutscene before you create your character, and a cutscene at the end of the main quest (assuming it doesn't involve your character) like in some other ES games. But nothing more.

Things I am against but would be okay with if done properly/tastefully:

1.) Dual Wielding.
  • If dual wielding is included, it should only be for specific weapon combinations that make sense. It is impractical to dual wield any two weapons that are longer or heavy than a dagger/stiletto/dirk.
  • I would be annoyed if Bethesda allowed the player to dual wield longswords or axes or staves or any combination thereof. If you must include dual wielding in some capacity, restrict it to small, light weapons, and at some cost to weapon speed or control.

2.) Level Scaling.
  • I think the main quest should have leveled enemies with leveled equipment and rewards, so that it can be done at any level without too much ease/difficulty.
  • Outside the main quest, I prefer a more natural system where the further one is from civilization, the more dangerous and numerous the enemies will be, but also, the rewards will be greater. So a lower leveled character would have to do some grunt work in guilds, or start with the main quest, or grind a bit, before being able to venture very deep into the wilderness.
  • As you level, you are constantly presented with new places to explore, new challenges, new triumphs, new rewards, and new adventures.
  • I've already accepted the fact that such a system would probably not appeal to the majority of casual gamers and even many hardcoe gamers, and Bethesda has probably already implemented some sort of scaling system anyway so this is moot... But I still think my system would work better in terms of establishing a natural system of progression with reward-based incentives to encourage character growth.

TES needs more cowbell, literally. A cowbell necklace that scares away wildlife and draws bandits to me! that would be nice....oh and the townfolk would stop and stare as I pass.

This is a good one... Due to be optional in the game, we could earn a extra cash working protecting people, working in some store, fishing, cooking... We could buy a house and rent it to make a profit too...

Here are some of my suggestions:

Weapons that show damage: When your weapon is damages, let it show, let there be a few noticible cracks and dinks. Besides, imagine breaking a sword over your enemy when it needs to be repaired.

Simplifying Spells: This is not hard to do. Instead of "Lesser Heal" and "Greater Heal", just make one Heal spell that lets your skill determine how well the spell performs. Let there only be one Telekinetic spell, one water walking and water breathing spell, their duration and effectiveness depending on your skill.

Spell Effects: Like Bioshock. Depending on your skill level, imagine shooting a lightning spell in a pool of water and everyone in the pool getting shocked. Or imagine throwing a powerful fireball that makes NPCs try and put it out, temporarily stunning them (again, depending on skill level)

yes i think of a game that offers to the players the action and the beauty of every other TES game but also offers something realistic and traditional too. there are many many many ideas and suggestions to tell the truth and we cnt just decide what would it be better.

Does all these suggestion are sent to the Bethesda team?

There are a lot of good suggestion that would improve a lot the in game experience!

Hope we can see at least 50% of all these suggestions in the new Skyrim! ;D

It would be nice a feedback from the developers to know if any of our suggestions will be implemented.

More atmosphere...

like flies everywhere, bees, butterflies, ants walking on the floor and walls, rats (small ones, and not as a foe) in dirty places, little spiders, birds flying in the sky, more fishes in rivers and lakes, leafs flying out from trees... Much more animals / not foes

I think it sould not be difficult to implement as some mods available in Oblivion give some of these resources.

I read somewhere that the Nerevarine left for Skyrim and was never heard from again. It would be a really nice Easter Egg to stumble upon a ruin and find the remains of the Nerevarine.

I can't remember if
Spoiler
Kagrenac's tools were destroyed upon defeating Dagoth Ur
, but it would be cool to find them with the remains.

They should revamp spell effects, especially the ones for destructive spells.

In Oblivion (and Morrowind) spells were kind of slow. They didn't really shoot at people, they just kind of hovered towards them.

I think in this when you shoot a destructive spell at someone, it should shoot at them like a bullet. And if it doesn't hit the intended target and instead hits a wall or tree they just kind of evaporate. They should add some kind of effect like splintering wood or something along with an appropriately loud sound-effect. This would really add a lot to magic-based battles.

They should also add wands.

(Can you tell I've been reading too much Harry Potter?)

This might be a bit contravertial but I want the return of the static heads. They were far more realistic than Oblivion's plasticine faces and if you didn't like them you could download more!
