Official Patch question

Post » Tue Nov 02, 2010 10:50 pm

I'm installing FO3 again, and I was wondering if someone could tell me what the state of play is regarding mods and official patches. I took a look at the 1.5patch bugs threads, and it they just stop over a year ago, with no real resolution.

I see FO3Edit doesn't come with the master update program anymore, so is it not needed, or is it built in now?

Cheers.

I use Patch 1.7. It seems to have corrected most all of the bugs that 1.5 had, though it seems to contribute to crashes when exiting the game and creates a two-toned skin for modded NPCs (which can be fixed).

Wait are you guys saying you don't need to FO3Masterupdate/masterize if you have 1.6/1.7 official patches installed? This is news to me..

Well, not totally. There are still some issues that master update deals with, however, from personal experience, those things are minor and you probably wont even notice.

navmesh problems, and the 2-toned skin NPCs in custom mods. Thats all that comes to mind. Its really only pertinent if you are making mods.
