Better then a post that says something is wrong, and then proceeds to ramble on without explaining at all why said post is wrong.

You literally just told me, that what I wrote was wrong, and without merit, yet you have actually contributed nothing to back up your statement. Nothing. Do you know what a hypocrite is? Someone who might, for example, say something is without merit, who's reasons to say as such, have no merit. What's worse, is that you're trying to take the moral highground, but you're post is bluntly insulting, and is based completely on your own personal opinion. Fallacy after fallacy. My emotional response is wrong? A little over the top yes, but wrong? Logically and rationally it's neither right or wrong, but definitely not wrong.

Before you furiously respond with what I'm sure will be a clever and well thought out counter-post, let's review your amazing and well thought out reasons for disagreeing with me:
  • A company is exempt of absolutely any sort of liability to anything and anyone once you buy their product, so long as you get that product (maybe tomorrow or 20 years from now.). -> "No one told you to pre-order 8 months in advance, that's your fault. Don't blame Splash Damage for that." (My issue is an ethical one, this goes beyond what you're willing to accept.)
  • The game will be good! -> "They are making a great game and you haven't even played it yet." (Not sure what point you're trying to make, I already know the game will be good, that's why I pre-ordered it)
  • Any reaction to any subject is unwarranted if you seem emotional, or the message does not agree with the audience, or any one member of it -> "Yes, your reaction is unwarranted because you took the time to make an out-of-control-crying-like-a-baby post like this. Rage much? Nobody wants to hear that." (This is just infantile.)
  • I don't even know how to form a proper, cohesive thought -> "That's how I see the situation at hand (you)." (Unless of course I literally am a situation. Perhaps you have me confused with Mike "The Situation" from Jersey Shore, and understandable assumption, but I assure you I am not him.)

Look, the game is delayed (or not so much delayed, but being officially released later then what I had expected) longer then I find acceptable, I was pissed, that's all there was to it. I have no clue why that is so hard to comprehend, I paid for the game, so I have an absolute equal and just as valid right to feel however I want to about this game, and post in the forums accordingly so long as I abide to the rules and regulations. This is another complex concept called equality. If you seriously want to have an argument about any and/or all of this, be my guest, but I'll tell you now, you won't win.

Alright, unlike the other guy I will explain why your post is unwarrented.
You were pissed because the official release date is May 17th, and you thought it was going to be released in March off of placeholder dates. When you pre-ordered the game in September, the release date was clearly Spring 2011 which means any date between March 21st and June 20th could be the official date. Now unless there was some freak re-organizing of months, I'm pretty sure May 17th falls into that time range. Now if the release date was July something, then being pissed is justified. But thats not the case.

Wow, troll much?
All I was saying was that there is no need to whine on a forum because you have to wait a few more months.
What were you thinking of gaining with posting something like you originally posted? For the game company to cater to you and push the release date FORWARD just for you? Because that's what you wanted right? It seems like it with the way you post.
You're just mad because you have to wait until May 17th. You've been waiting since September and probably even earlier than that so, enjoy the wait. I'm sure you will.

Kalabalana,
you've come to the right forum but are directing your ire at the wrong people, Bethesda sets the release date, not Splash Damage

btw, pre-orders seem to upset you, do what most of us do, get it after release
plus, you didn't pre-order from Bethesda or Splash Damage but a game store. I'm sure they would love to hear your concerns

I could see your complaint having "merit" if you were one of the people who pre-ordered before the game was delayed for 12 months total. But you pre-ordered when the release date was Spring 2011, and the exact date is in fact in "spring 2011". They did not say "early spring 2011" or "middle of spring 2011". I don't see how they they have done anything wrong just because you assumed that they would release in the first half of spring.

If a contractor gives you an estimate of $5000-$8000 and it ends up costing $7500, has he done anything wrong?

Edit: I personally expected the worst case, May 31, so the date they actually chose is like getting it 2 weeks early for me.

Well that is a relief.

Glad the release isn't later like it could have been, I mean spring is a season, not a day, so I for one am glad that they are releasing it earlier than they are obligated to.

Someone should learn to accept that the date is so far away, and be happy that they didn't set the release later.

Glad i now know when it is out, and with it being quite far away means that they have time to make it an awesome game.

The best part is that i finish college around that time and means i will have plenty of spare time to play all day everyday B)

The rage....it is strong with that one....
also the they've said in the dev dairies that they are constantly facing issues with development and level construction. All they're saying really is that they need a bit more time to make sure that any final tweaks can be made so that the game is as enjoyable as we all hope it will be on release. If your pissed at waiting that long for it after waiting this long already then your not really looking forward to playing this game as much as you thought...

(Tbh, I hate it when games release earlier in North America)
Not that I'm complaining, but I'm wondering why it isn't being released in Europe earlier, I mean Splash Damage is a British developer anyway.

Bethesda is an American publisher

While this is a good explanation, it's still a stupid thing.

The forums work on my iPod, without too much trouble. Only problem is linking to other posts/vids or long posts.
