Official TES V Speculation Thread Number 25

Post » Sun May 30, 2010 4:35 am

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1065099. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

One thing that makes me think they are going to do something soon is the fact that they are being very active on the forums lately. Few months ago, for a WHILE, you saw no red names at the bottoms of these forums, just white and green. Now, I see 5+ a day. That's not normal, so it leads me to believe that they are planning something.

I feel like that might be more to keep people from aiming at the jugular with some of these discussions. But it is good to see that Bethesda can feel comfortable on their own forums. Either they have some free time *cough* or the bile level has gone down.

Edit: \/ \/ on that note, they probably "leave" the forums, then egg us on from a new account. Gotta do something to pass the time when TESV is just a really big crock -- ----.

Or they just find us amusing.

Nope, nothing yet. The cover should be revealed any day now though.

I'm telling you, that cover is going to be Gears 3. It's going to be announced this thursday. EGM has already been confirmed to have a story on it for their May issue, but not the cover story, which means than another mag (Game Informer) has the exclusive for a Gears of War 3 cover.

I'm beginning to doubt if TESV is going to be announced at or before E3 now. I was looking at the exhibitor list and Bethesda Softworks is on there, but if they were going to unveil TESV wouldn't they be listed as Bethesda Game Studios?

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Probably will.

Well, if that does turn out to be the case, we'll still have 3 covers left. I'm honestly not expecting it to be announced until we have a single cover left, because Bethesda will probably want to take all the time they can get.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure Bethesda Softworks represents them even though BGS would be the one showing it off.

That's a shame. I've never cared for Gears, so I guess I'll have to wait for next month.

If my memory serves me correctly, despite not being sole console games, Microsoft debuted a couple of games at E3 last year, though i think most, if not all, of them had already been announced.

I want to remind everyone that there is no hard evidence whatsoever that TES V is going to be announced in GameInformer.

The only reason we have to think it might happen is that Oblivion was announced that way - but that's no assurance that TES V will be. It's possible - and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened - but there's no hard evidence that it will.

True, there is no hard evidence, but not only was the announcement of the Oblivion cover announced relatively soon after the announcement of Oblivion, but Fallout 3 was on the cover and that was revealed the same month that the first teaser trailer was released. That is, in my opinion, reason to think it will happen with TESV as well.

For any desperate-to-believe conspiracy, the lack of evidence is more than enough solid proof.

But we do have reason to believe it will happen, like I said in my previous post.

The lack of evidence, indeed. I just want something. A morsel. A single phrase, stating that TES:V is happening. I know it IS happening but, it's just oh-so much sweeter when it comes from the chapped, fruity bubble gum stained lips of Todd howard.

Todd Howard: We are pleased to announce a game we have been working on since late 2008.

I don't want to set the world on fire... :P

I would be curious as to where the trademark is for the "big new game" that Todd Howard says they're working on.

Maybe, but I think its alot more likely they they'll be showing off New Vegas than TESV. When I went to PAX '09 they were showing off Brink and it had Bethesda Softworks name on it (at least if I recall correctly)...

But hey, I'm all for being wrong and them showing off TESV at E3!

But I woulnd't get my hopes up.

I agree, even just a quick tidbit on the forum, like Gstaff or Nick or Todd or anyone saying "oh hey guys, yeah we're doing that just sit tight for a while." No information needed, just a quick confirmation of the series' continued existence.

While I'm wishing for stuff, a solid gold telephone or at least another $20 phone card would be nice.

Many of you are exhibiting hope that will be unrealized. E3 will not provide TES:V's announcement. I believe Game Informer will likely have an exclusive on it, but I do not believe this will provide the "announcement" either. The announcement will come first through elderscrolls.com and will roll out through other sources. The website will likely become either a countdown of some kind or a series of related images. You will not see it anywhere else first, therefore speculating on Game Informer's cover will not provide any information that proceeds what is offered on the website.

Sorry to disappoint some of you...

Indeed and agreed. You'll first know about TESV one day when you load up elderscrolls.com to find a mysterious splash page with a countdown timer on it.

That's some serious speculation you're flaunting as fact.

Regardless of fact flaunting, it seems to be the most reasonable explanation, related to the announcement of TESV that I've read.
