Official TES V Speculation Thread Number 26

Post » Tue Jul 06, 2010 9:08 am

I remember reading that 50%of the team was working on Fallout, 25% on Oblivion DLC, and 25% on a new title.(Hopefully TES V)

Ok, thanks for the quick reply.

Am i the only person who acknowledges that Fallout 3 was made, so they couldn't have started work on TES V as soon as they released oblivion?

What...? They have different teams for different projects. Bethesda Game Studios has quite a number of employees.
They more than likely had a team working on TES:V as soon as TES:IV was released. Very basic "drawing board" type stuff, but ideals were probably being thrown around. They probably got more people working on it when Fallout 3 was released.

I think that is the source :

"And what’s next the Bethesda team? According to Pete, once the game is shipped the team will be split into groups. One group will focus on support for Oblivion such as patches, updates, and expansions. Another group will focus on the next Elder Scrolls game. And finally one group will be working on Fallout 3."

Thank-you, I think I remember another source that mentioned the 50/25/25. I'll try to find it.

I'm aware they have different groups working on different games. I'm asking for a source for the percentiles that was mentioned.

I don't think proportions is how they usually split up groups. You kinda want relevant employees to work at each stage of the product rather than a specific number of employees to fit the quota. 50/25/25 is too strict, but I do think that they were split up into teams with the biggest one working on FO3 and smaller ones on Oblivion expansions and TES V :)

Just a quick question; last time I looked at the 'possible' new provinces, it was rumoured that it would be the one with marshes and Argonians (black marsh). How come now everyone is talking about Skyrim, now? It's been a while so I've might have missed it, but where there hints/claims that the next game will be in Skyrim?

I actually thought a black marsh one would be good. (I believe the rumour on that one started because someone noticed bethesda bought a domainname in relation to black marsh).

So, on what is Skyrim based on?

They have a trademark on Skyrim, for a game, and merchandise.

That's not a picture from a video game..that's a engineered picture consisting of real life photography and CG made to look like a video game.

OK...

I'm still hung up on the fact that TES V AND an MMO are being worked on, with the same timetable, and the same target release date. Something is off there, and right now, we have a lot of proof for an MMO out there. Now I know that it doesn't fit with the trademark, so that is conflicting with the MMO idea. At this point, there are way too many "If"s for anyone to confidentially predict that this game is TES V vs an MMO. That's all I'm saying.

/facepalm.

There is NO PROOF WHATSOEVER that an MMO is being worked on. At all. By anyone. There is also only the frail speculation by someone who heard secondhand that ZeniMax was planning an MMO based on a Bethesda IP at all. Also, there is NO PROOF WHATSOEVER that TESV is being worked on either, however two novels, Todd's team working on a secret project and the Skyrim trademark allowing for speculation. Neither of those point to a timetable or release date at all, let alone that the one that actually exists would have the same timetable as the one that likely doesn't and hopefully never will. So we can say with confidence that the next TES we see will be a single-player RPG made by Bethesda since there is at least ANYTHING to point to it ever being made at all, ever.

I know people have said basically the same thing, but it needed saying again, very loudly in Regulation Red.

No proof that an MMO is being worked on? Bethesda Game Studios certainly isn't making one, but we do have clear proof that Zenimax Online is creating an MMO...

There are court transcripts that http://www.duckandcover.cx/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23626 an MMO is being worked on.

That kind of setting would be nice, I don't know if the actual image quality is possible, but the character of the landscape is definitely possible.

Frail speculation?

Here, look at this http://i43.tinypic.com/16bbuat.jpg of the Zenimax Online website. I would tell you to just read it, but I doubt you would. I even drew giant arrows on it pointing to the proof, or as you call it, "frail speculation."

So yes, they are using one of Bethesda's IPs. And yes, they are working on an MMO. As has already been said, get your facts straight before making such embarrassing and false statements.

It's all speculation, no matter how you look at it. Yes, there's a good chance they are using one of Bethesda's IP's, but they don't specifically state that. They said they have access to a number of "gaming's best known IP's". None of us can say with full confidence they they know what Zen is doing. We know they are making an MMO. That's it.

Tell you what, I'm really sick and tired of all this speculation. One picture, just one, would be nice, there better be atleast one picture of TES V at E3 or I'm going to be quite an unhappy customer. No one wants that now do they? Other than that, the graphics better be as mind blowing as what I see in my everyday life.

Really? The fact that they say they are sharing IPs and say they are working closely with Bethesda's staff doesn't convince you that they are, in fact, using one of Bethesda's IPs?

Here's a direct quote:

"Because we are all inside the same corporate structure, we share IP and because our offices are only about an hour apart, we can work closely with Bethesda's staff."

Why would they be working with Bethesda if they weren't using one of their IPs? For the hell of it? Why would they say they share IPs, if they aren't sharing IPs? They may not have said it outright but it's pretty much 100% certain they are indeed using one of Bethesda's IPs.
