Official TES V Speculation Thread Number 28

No John, you are the Shane
And then John was anonymous

Are we going to jump on every new member who posts here with something that doesn't even have anything to do with the topic?

Seems like Beth employees are getting a little wily in the office... recently lightened work load?

It's bugging me that they randomly have taken an interest. More likely than not, it means nothing at all... and that's getting to me, lol.

Every time Beth filed to renew the trademark they had to show proof that it was being used to the office. For the trademark to become 'set in stone', so to speak, it has to be used publicly. Of course, I imagine that could just be a closed showing to the media of a single screenshot that is then reported on to the public. I don't think it has to be a gameplay video, and i'm sure it doesn't have to be a playable demo. E3 is right around the corner, less than 2 months away, and then the REAL wait begins.

Unamimously? I like that word. You should trademark it.

"Commerce" includes and can simply mean "used in external advertisemant".
Of course, I have a feeling that Skyrim is going to be the next book or will be transferred to Zenimax online for the MMO.

A lot of companies will register for trademarks using a subsidiary or sister corporation only to transfer the trademark when the product is gold.

Could you elaborate on this point, I don't quite understand what you mean. I know what the terms you used mean, but I don't understand how they would do this.

I think what was meant is that Zenimax Online could trademark another name (other than Skyrim) under the name of an obscure "company" they own, thus keeping the identity somewhat more hidden. My response to that is: Why bother with all the paperwork and fees applying for and renewing a trademark if you're not planning to use it?

Yeah, either they have a light workload, are being held at gunpoint, feel like saying hello, joining in the speculation (you guys work at a business, I am sure you speculate about what's actually going down), are messing with us, C), accidentally smashed the keyboard in a way that led to the suspicious message...
...wanted to drop a "thats what she said" joke eventually and are just setting the stage,
or A) all of the above.

It might be about time to get back on the train of trackless speculation.

So someone else can't.

Just being a devil's advocate. :P

I'm voting for "All of the Above"

Or... they're just bored and log in when they get home from work and they know they're instantly a celebrity if they're officially part of the Bethesda staff.

Well, they have to know that any posts by them would make us get all excited and speculate. So, if the random posts are meaningless then Bethesda is just being cruel. They are either rattling our cage to build a bit of hype or they just like to see us squirm – and after this long of a wait, with virtually no actual information provided by Bethesda, I’m not too sure which explanation is more probable.

I agree. It's been some ride hasn't it? But I got a feeling the best is yet to come. The torcher they've put us through will be worth it in the end, mate.

Of course the best is yet to come. We've been given absolutely nothing. A picture of what a quill pen will look like in the next TES game would be dissected for months.

A simple flash game would not work with the specific trademark that is about to expire because that one is for merchandise and game instruction booklets. It would work for an interactive media trademark though, since there have been flash games with trademarks.

And please... anonymous users don't usually mean much. Lurk more on the forums.

Okay guys, really. Lets stop all this. It's getting to the point where it's just spam. An anonymous viewer doesn't mean a dev.
If all we start talking about is "AW MAH GOD ANONMOLYLUS VUEWS!11" in the thread, devs will stop coming here.
Lets speculate on the game. Not how many anonymous viewers are in the thread..
