Okay, so it looks like Bethesda isn't the only developer that likes to make people wait 4 years for an announcement. Apparently a "hacker" was able to use the forums to find out about Star Wars Battlefront 3 and they haven't announced it yet. Check it out...

Wonder if we'll find out before the official announcement of TESV.

I wouldn't be surprised if some decisive clues were discovered shortly before, but I for one would hope it would be a result of our vigilance and not based on someone's nefarious activities.

I am with you on that note, Stain, and in fact I think I would be thoroughly pleased if any of our speculation proved to be fact.

Okay so I had to do another post, because upon further inspection, I don't think he was doing anything naughty, nor even hack-ish... he kind of stumbled upon it when he used his program to decide which server to log into for a multi-player match... almost makes me wish we could do that (but that means multi-player TES, and I am not so much a fan of that idea) here's that link:

TES don't make multiplayers in the series, so we can't do that, though I wouldn't be surprised if a disk ended up on the front step of the main studio office which had a virus that copied all data on the computer and posted it on the forums...just sayin' :whistling:

Someone say nefarious activities? Heheh.

Anyway, I'm pretty well sick of thumb-twiddling. At least give me the second book so I can go back to Morrowind again. I hate going back to the beginning of a series halfway through an installment.

Hey guys, when my alarm sounds off i'll let you all know.

Also, I just realized something.http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/more-on-doom-4-at-quakecon-20104 at this year's quake con. They've pretty much penciled that in.

As we know from that other http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/04/interview-bethesdas-pete-hines/, they don't like their new titles getting lost in the mumbo jumbo either. So I find it hard to believe they'll announce TES V when DOOM 4 , an equally as amazing game will be showcased.

I remember specifically from John Carmack in an interview he did early on when Zenimax bought id, he said that Doom 4 would pay for the Elder Scrolls V's development. Either John Carmack new for sure that ESV was in development, or he was just saying it, not really knowing for sure what BGS next project was.

as for the buying up of internet names i wouldnt be surprised if bethesda didnt buy all references to all of the provinces. what im mostly interested in is zenimax buying id. if they used the new idtech5 engine or a modified version of it, i would scream like a little girl and skip rope out of joy.

There's a big difference between showing a game at E3 and having it lost within a dozen other games, and showing a game off at Quakecon where only one or two other games will be shown.

Plus I don't really see how Doom would influence TES, IMO they are two separate fanbases. Sort of like Fallout and TES, sure you have people that like both games because of similar elements, but ultimately people like what's out the series to stay out, and what's in the series to stay in. What would you say?

I really hope they improve the scenery. And I would love some gore! I would die for a slow motion "V.A.T.S. style" kill mini-cinematic. Kinda similar to fable 2.

Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure there's really anything very tangible to take away from it; other than perhaps it is his way of venting over a frustrating day where he wasn't able to achieve what he expected due to other circumstances outside his control.

I think about all that can be gleaned is that they're in development of something. There's unfortunately just too many assumptions required to derive much more detail than that.

Don't get sick of me on this as I realize it is unlikely, but we are two weeks away before the announcement on 6/2 according to the historical trends and theoretical timeline for the "Website->GameInformer->E3->Trademark expiration" My personal countdown begins!

I'm waiting with you brother. I'm pretty much desensitized at this point, but whatever happens I'll share in the glory or pain. :foodndrink:
