Official TES V Speculation Thread Number 33

Post » Wed Nov 24, 2010 12:35 pm

I remember E3 2009 when Bethesda had a secret announcement. Then I saw it was Brink and I was just about to rage-quit on life. I'm not trying to sound overly pessimistic, but who knows...

And they showed that eye teaser, didn't they? Lol.

Come on Beth, you know what we want.

I just cant picture a decent MMO from any of these companies with no experience and having no user feedback cause they dont announce anything. I still dont think its an MMO, E3 is not too far away though so we'll see wont we.

Also, they'd be screwing a lot of people over by making TES:V an mmo. The player base is all about the open ended RPG and modding community, as an MMO you can say bye to ALL of that.

In other words my money is still on either TES:V or a FO:4

I hope you didn't forget about Zenimax Online. They're a company under Zenimax Media, and they ARE producing an MMO.

I hope TES:V isnt beths natal game...

Bethesda Game Studios is not producing a Natal game. That whole thing about Bethesda and a Natal game was about Bethesda Softworks looking to publish a Natal game.

Yeah, that secret could also be a game that's not under Zenimax Media, like Brink was.

The surprise just has to be TES:V. Sure everyone has argued that Beth has never announced games at E3, but who's too say they won't do something different? I mean come on, everyone wants TES:V. Look at http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=249078 article, almost every comment is begging for the game. It's the same thing for most any other Bethesda related article. It isn't just us, but mainstream gamers, and Bethesda knows this. I'm even more hopeful for this announcement than I was when Infernal City released.

We just won't know it's ESV or Zenimax Online's MMO until E3 comes. We just have to wait.

Even if it's not ESV, it'll probably be announced later this summer anyway.

I've taken a long hiatus from these forums, so I'm not really sure: is this MMO still just a rumor, or is there solid evidence of its development? I just can't see it...nobody even wants an MMO, that's what WoW is for. Anyway I s'pose I'm just saying what has been said a million times before...

Bethesda Game Studios- Makes ESV.
Zenimax Online- Makes MMOs.

Both are under Zenimax.

How many times do I have to say it?.. Heh.

Pete Hines:
"In regards to the MMO comment, he was asked if there was “any chance of an Elder Scrolls MMO” and he replied — in a joking fashion — by saying “I guess there’s a chance.” To be clear, Todd and his team do not make MMOs, for any franchise, at all. We have another division – ZeniMax Online Studios – which is lead by Matt Firor, and they are working on an MMO. They have not said anything about what game they are making. When ZeniMax Online is ready to show what they are up to, we’ll let everyone know. Until then we aren’t going to provide hints or speculate on what they’re doing either."

Here is my prediction. Bethesda said specificially they dont like announcing things at E3. This, is concrete evedence that points to an ES5 announcement at E3
Look at my metaphor.

Lets say your five, and its Christmas in a month. You read all around the internet that mommy has a brand new firetruck for you, some people say they found a recipt for a firetruck in mommy's trash, other people say its been years since you got a firetruck, so its bound to happen this year. But mommy's lips are sealed. So you go looking around the house, and while digging through your mommys closet, you find a box labeled old socks, you open it, and inside you find a bunch of presents, one of them has your name on it! And right before you start to unwrap the box, mommy comes in! She is all like, dont get your hopes up for a firetruck "Anytime soon." You feel really sad.
The next day, your mother clarifies, saying "Thats really not what I meant, of course I'll get you a truck, I just cant say when, that would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it." You nod, wanting to strangle and hug your mother at the same time. She continues. "I really dont like giving you firetrucks on Christmas either, it seems the gift gets its thunder taken by everything else that happens on Christmas. You nod again, confused.
As it turns out, your mom was bluffing, you should have guessed, she does this kind of thing all the time, shes worse than your uncle who works in that STEAM factory.
You open the present, and lo and behold, firetruck! Your mom LOLs for hours.

THE END.

"Less than two weeks to go. Hang on."

In the latest BethBlog. My bet is that's a response to the 80-something messages they've got (up untill now) on the E3 booth blog.
I don't know who said it, but didn't Bethesda announce Oblivion before they filed the SOU on their trademark?
If they would announce at E3, that would still be a possibility.
Here's hoping! ^_^

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who caught that and perceived it the same way. :P

Personally, I do hope they announce a new TES at E3 as I've heard there will be an f-ton of crap showcased this time round. We need an injection of quality to make this one memorable.

Hopefully Bethesda follow you on this one after their blog was bombarded with nothing but elder scrolls comments.

Gah. Damn this thread! Now I'm hopeful for E3 (even though it's unlikely). >___<
Anyways, seems quite likely it will be announced this year, at least.

Well, I'm pretty sure the announcement will be either at E3 or QuakeCon or possibly before them. We should wait, as there is only a week and a half to E3
