Official TES V Speculation Thread Number 33

Post » Wed Nov 24, 2010 4:44 am

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1090035-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-164/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

Yup. And none of those are being developed by Bethesda. Strange considering Bethesda Game Studios is working on something as well as Zenimax Online.

We'll know soon enough if it's worth speculating about their E3 booth. My inclination is that we will not be hearing about ES:V just quite yet. I'm still hoping for it in July sometime.

Let me ask you this: If they were going to show it at E3, would they most likely announce it beforehand? Or would they deny deny deny?

announce, so they can get exclusives and interviews lined up. by the time E3 rolls around all the journalists will know who to pay attention to, and if beth only has relatively small stuff on display then they aren't going to get as much attention.

Deny, deny, deny until it's announced like they always do. Even if it's only some sort of countdown or a teaser trailer.

ES V would likely be announced a lot closer to E3....Oblivion was announced two days before E3 in 2005.

No, I don't think so. Oblivion was shown at one E3, and that was in 2005, where they showed the 6-part demo. I definitely remember seeing the demos much after Oblivion's announcement.

I'm thinking this GI is going to be CoD:BO... which is disheartening, but would not be surprising.

Yeah, really folks. Don't expect ESV at E3. It's going to get diluted with tons of other big-name games around, and of course Pete Hines implied that showing off a big in-house game is a bad idea at E3 when it's not even announced yet.

But don't worry, I really expect an announcement either in early July, or late July, and if not, then Bethesda must REALLY be changing things up for ESV, even more-so.

I get the feeling they aren't worried about having a new TES announcement lost amongst all the other games, but are worried that announcing TES:V would steal all the spotlight from the games they are publishing. Splash Damage and ID would love some attention at this year's E3, which they can definitely get at Bethesda's booth. That attention dissipates when a TES:V monolith towers right next to them :P

I still they think they're planning on using TES:V to boost QuakeCon's popularity: something Pete Hines said Bethesda and ID are looking to do.

While I understand the reasoning behind it, I'm not so sure it would be in Bethesda's nature to seemingly high jack the event, or even use such an event. You know as well as I do that the people that show up for Quakecon are there for one thing: Id games and playing them (among other action games in a multiplayer environment). Perhaps this would be an attempt at having a starting point to have more TES (and other Bethesda games) at Quakecon, but its also a risky maneuver. No one who cares may be looking.

I believe you might be right. After seeing a lot of the stuff on the Game Informer website having to do with Black Ops, I think we can safely assume that the next issue will be Black Ops. But, you never know with Bethesda. They might have the Game Informer issue, maybe not. Let's just be patient for once in our speculating lives! :banghead:

If they do announce it tomorrow you have my word that I'll put one of your posts on the website in my sig as "The man who predicted the announcement of TES V," so it'll be archived for as many years as I'm here (which should be a long time). So if you want me to do that, create a post detailing how you came up with the date before tomorrow. Or link me to one of your previous posts where you detailed how.

I'm thinking this GI is going to be CoD:BO... which is disheartening, but would not be surprising.

Possibly, but other magazines have already covered it. Game Informer likes to put games on the cover that are relatively new so that they have one of the first articles on them, increasing sales of the magazine. They may not have TES V as the next magazine cover but I'd be surprised if it was CoD: BO.

While I understand the reasoning behind it, I'm not so sure it would be in Bethesda's nature to seemingly high jack the event, or even use such an event. You know as well as I do that the people that show up for Quakecon are there for one thing: Id games and playing them (among other action games in a multiplayer environment). If they do try to change Quakecon, and I'm confident they will, they'll hype it up in such a way that Bethesda fans will come too.

Yes, but at the same time that means it will only have TES fans at the event AFTER this year's event.

Of course, that doesn't mean I would be there. I love Id and Doom and Quake and all that. My friends and I might go (we live in Texas, which is where Quakecon is held. Its only 150 miles away in Fort Worth). That would just be awesome to be there when TES V was announced.
