I think the devs are more "anymous users" than "guest", there are many people that are only lurking this thread and this not might be devs.

Devs don't have time for reading this thread, because they are working on TESV now :)

And on their coffee breaks they visit this thread as guests or anonymous users. To mock us.

No, Gstaff mocks us with his 'Burrito' comments, the rest of the devs laugh at us, except Shane, he also likes mocking us, but has stopped of late, where did you go Panda-man? :sadvaultboy:

Anyway, I said it before and I'll say it again, please just login when reading, its free and only takes a second, as well as narrows down the number of people reading the thread as guests or anonymous users, making us less paranoid. Please and thank you :foodndrink:

This is one of the most ridiculous ideas I've encountered on this thread! Who the freak cares if devs are reading our thread anonymously? It means nothing other than...get this...devs are reading the thread. The reasons why, I'm sure, are varied, but there's really nothing significant to derive - and to hold anonymous/guest readers under duress because they might be a dev is lunacy.

Often I read the thread as a guest when I'm on a different computer and I feel like seeing if there's any news. Guests mean nothing.

This is just stupid.

Come on, no surprises means... no surprises.

I would be little dissapointed by Bethesda and their policy that allowed to lie their elder scrolls fanbase

They do, so much so that I literally laughed out loud when Daggerfall was re-released. "Lost the source code" indeed!

you know guys, this is exactly why bethesda usually says nothing at all. even when Gstaff says that there is no secret announcement, ya'll don't believe him.

Well, aside from being the most infamously broken fanbase on the internet, we are also the most dedicated. It's like waking up a pet dog, really. You shake it around and watch it play for a bit for your own amusemant. This is how they get their kicks.

Does anyone know what this emoticon is supposed to be?? Is it Devo? :intergalactic:

That emote is a reference to a great music video from the late 1990s, "Intergalactic" by the Beastie Boys.

Ah, I almost feel old thinking that was twelve years ago.

Edit: On topic content: Famitsu is not a reliable source. They trade in rumours and sell review scores, this is known. If Pete Hines and GStaff are both saying no big reveals at E3, I think we should take it at face value, and if we get really lucky, we get really lucky, but still, try to set reasonable expectations.

Its almost definantly not going to be revealed at E3, but I am very confident they are working on it now, and will reveal it eventually. Keep your ears open, I can't believe there hasn't been some small leaks... how many people work on a game like this, how many people get drunk and blab on social networking sites...

If you want a suprise at E3. The last thing you wanna do is drop hints, otherwise it wont be a suprise! For some reason i still think theres a chance it could be announced at E3.

I wouldnt be suprised if it is announced at E3, actually. Think about it, if they are going to be making a suprise announcement, the last thing they want to be doing is dropping hints like "well errrrm we might announce something at E3, but we aren't allowed to say anything at the moment".

That is a strong point, you can't really drop hints about a surprise, because...well...it wouldn't be a surprise anymore.

Bethesda are well known for denying everything until the very last minute so what you are saying is quite possible although I just have a feeling that this time they are telling the truth.

If they announce it at E3, we'll all be happy. If they don't, well then we'll all just start looking at GI and QuakeCon again.

But if they do have a "surprise" and it's an official Fallout 4, I think things will get bad and I'll wait it out in a dark corner somewhere.

I'm pretty sure this "surprise," if it's anything at all, is Doom 4.

Yea, that's exactly what I'm thinking. They'll give a teaser for it at E3 to get all the attention, and then everyone will want to be at Quakecon for the big reveal.

You mean revealed.

And yes, it will be. Id has already said that Doom 4 will be shown at QuakeCon, which pretty much rules it out for E3.

Doom 4 is not the surprise, especially since it wouldn't be a surprise at all because its already been announced and we know its being made.

Was the Bethesda "secret" option from Famitsu before or after Bethesda officially unveiled their E3 lineup?

But hasn't it been kind of on the back burner for a while? The surprise might be that they are now more actively working on it, and have a teaser trailer to show or something.

Edit: @Mr. Tissue Box:

According to SyltStryder, http://remoon.blog15.fc2.com/page-3.html#entry12454 is the original Famitsu poll. I don't have Chrome so I can't translate, but the earliest date I see (after a very brief glance) is 6-3-10. The BethBlog was updated with their E3 lineup on 6-1-10.

There is no surprise. I am taking Pete at face value on this one. If he was lying, then I will be pleasantly surprised. If not, then no harm done.

So that would mean we need the "August" GI to have it for the "Announced via magazine before expiration" idea to work.

Or the September edition, as I've stated before if Bethesda decides to announce the game, then a week later or so have ESV in Gameinformer.
