Official TES V Speculation Thread #37

So as far as other games that could be the 'giant sequel' with great fantasy art on the next GI: we can cross LOTR: War in the North off - as it released an E3 trailer today. Another step closer.

Well if its not on GI, theres always Quakecon, although that doesnt really fit the trademark timeline. And is DAII really schedualed for a february release? man that was fast

There was a card inside retail copies of Dragon Age: Awakenings with the date February 1st, 2011 I believe.

Anyway, if we get disappointed with the next GI being DAII, then we have one final chance, in the September GI edition. Bethesda would announce ESV right at the end of July, then the Sept. edition would be in early August with an ESV cover.

But then, if they were going to reveal DAII in the next GI, why not just reveal DAII at EA's conference at E3? But they didn't. I'm really hoping that means Bioware is spending more time on DAII and not revealing it until that February 2011 date.

We've literally been having biting our nails for every edition of GI since the May edition. If it doesn't come out in the August GI, then I doubt it comes out for a while. I'm not worrying about that though, because I;m almost certain the next Game Informer will feature a TES title. Just think of the odds that we're getting

A. A huge fantasy sequel
B. Not shown at E3
C. Timed perfectly with our trademark expiration

These three combined ALMOST DEFINITELY vouch for TES

We can think about other titles/possibilities, but stepping back and looking at this from the outside, I see some sort of a TES title a strong likelihood

The simplest explanation is usually right, Occam's Razor here lol

Go Mustang, whipping out the logic and smacking it upside the head with Occam's Razor... I like it. It sounds good to me :)

What is DAII? Can you guys write full names, you've got the time for it on a forum and readers don't always know.

I feel a bit better now. Bioware not showing DAII at E3 tells me that they may be pushing back that February 2011 release date, if that certainly was planned to be a release date.

But it could also mean that it could be the August GI cover, if it's not at E3...:cold:

In my humble opinion, Dragon Age II would NOT be a giant sequel so I will cross it off my list.

Okay, there is another possibility for the next GI. What about Kingdom Hearts 3?

I have a feeling that's going to be shown at E3; is there a chance?

Well, one of the creators said that they will be showing one of the two Kingdom Heart's titles they're making. He also said it's unlikely to see a Kingdom Heart's at E3 that is being made on the Xbox 360, or PS3 or whatever.

So... Freaking Bob Saget, it's a possibility for GameInformer...

But think of the trademark. That's the LAST GameInformer they can get without pulling off a late July released September edition.

That still doesn't rule out an ESV-covered September edition. Blehh.

Then again, if these guys making some Kingdom Heart's spin-off, then I don't see the logic in announcing the third official game pretty much at the same time. Also, the guy in charge of Kingdom Hearts, Nomura or something, is working on some Final Fantasy game anyway.

Well, according to that person, the game isn't even in development. Therefore, the game has been crossed off my list of possibilities.

I am not sure that any art from KH3 would make fantasy fans poo themselves... according to the GI dude anyway. It could be TESV, or Dragon Age 2. Seeing Mickey and Donald with Cloud is fantasy for sure, but not what I would drop my jaw for. Akavir flooding Skyrim with the undead at their heels while Altmer levitate and cast ice spells and Orcs swipe the chests of zombies afront the snowy mountain horizon within a butterfly laden fjord. This would make the fantasy crowd crap their pants.

Agreed. TES V will be the cover of GI. I'm so sure of it that I don't even feel the need for this thread anymore.
