Official TES V Speculation Thread #37

Post » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:46 am

But it has true one to one. It can move forwards and backwards on three dimensions unlike the Wii. Look at the sword/shield and archery demos. Could be cool for hack n' slash, but maybe not for TES.

yes, and Nintendo has this thing called a MotionPlus.

Well, motion controls (hopefully) will have nothing to do with TES, so who cares.

Well, since the rest of the conference is Xbox-exclusive and TES will almost certainly be on PCs and PS3 as well as Xbox, that means it almost certainly won't be there.

Oh well. MGS Rising still looked great.

Here's hoping that TES V will be part of that lineup, not at E3 maybe, but perhaps at Quakecon. What I like about this quote is that he realizes that the focus on games shouldn't just be "the latest and greatest hardware" but that the games themselves make themselves good. This is why I like Bethesda as a gaming company moreso than others.

QFT, Bethesda has been my favorite game company since Morrowind and I'm still sticking with them. They've just always come across as one of the few companies that really cares about customer input and playability rather than profit alone. I've even gotten disillusioned with the Creative Assembly for the sham the the Total War series has become. Three games in three years before the first of those is even fixed. Really pathetic of CA. Not to mention their numerous unfulfilled promises and lack of mod support for their games. So yeah, here's the the hope that Bethesda stays true to their good reputation of being a game company that actually cares.

If I was Bethesda right now, I would announce TES V and then go "...Just kidding!" Of course, if they did that, someone would probably die.

Xbox just released new Xbox 360, a redone version of original, with built in wi-fi, ready for kinect, Dang it I wish I was there at teh conference, they got a free one each!!! I wish I had connections :sadvaultboy:

Either way I think this DEFINITELY proves we are a few years out from a new generation Xbox. I think TES V will def be this gen console.

Oh, and no Microsoft TES V announcement.

Well, then. The Microsoft conference is over, and if Natal and the new 360 are any indication, this generation will be going on for some time, which means unless it takes several years for an announcement, I won't need to buy a new console for TESV.

And Natal looks to be exactly what I thought: eleventy billion variations on Wii Sports and a Star Wars game. I'll pass :D

This also means unless they do a random concept art thing like I was hoping, then it is almost certainly the "GI and QuakeCon" deal.

Why are you disappointed? The next GI is almost sure to be ESV, and if not, then the next one. Patience.

I didn't expect any announcement at the M$ conference, as TESV wouldn't be a 360 exclusive.

Well, the conference was a disappointment for more reasons than just a lack of TES. Kinect being one.

And now that we know it's not E3, we are almost certain it is an upcoming GI. I'd rather be certain of the lesser option than waste time and energy juggling two alternatives. Now we know, and can look forward.

Days like this I love being a Nintendo really devoted fan. Waiting for Nintendo 1st party titles makes this kind of wait the blink of an eye. Seriously, I'll barely notice while you all squirm with anticipation :D

I'm gonna go do a "gloating dance" over in the corner :D

But was COD: Black Ops 360 exclusive?

But was COD: Black Ops 360 exclusive?

The first few games were multi-platform. After a few it switched to exclusives. Black Ops was a multi.

A couple of games were not exclusive, but those were already announced games.

I think I've finally accepted the fact it will prob be on the cover of GI, and if not it'll be melting quakecon.

If it's Skyrim, it's not going to be announced at QuakeCon.

I'm still feeling a little uneasy though. It's either ESV or DAII for the next GameInformer, what with DAII apparently being released in February of next year.

is Bethesda Zenimax publicly traded? because that could affect when the information comes out.

I also need to diversify my stock portfolio.
