I was thinking about the wording of http://twitter.com/GI_AndyMc/status/15659437114 earlier today, and I noticed there was something a bit odd about it. To me at least, referring to TESV as a "giant sequel", while totally appropriate, isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of ways to describe the game. Most of the time when you refer to a game as a "sequel", you're implying that whatever preceded it was
not a sequel - e.g. did not have any predecessors of its own. If I were writing that tweet and it was definitely about TESV, I wouldn't call it a sequel, I'd use another word - "followup" or "installment", for example. Using those words would probably be a bit close to the line of "too much specificity" (since they'd lend a hand in ruling out any games that aren't "installments" - for example, I wouldn't call DAII an "installment" since it's only the second of two games), but they sound so much more appropriate than "sequel" to me.
I'm probably just overanolyzing out of nerd-hype. Convince me I'm wrong, please!
