Official TES V Speculation Thread #38

Post » Thu Feb 17, 2011 6:27 pm

Tomorrow is the last day of E3 yes? So, I think we will hear nothing. Is there any interview with Pete, Todd or with somebody from Bethesda anyway?

From http://games.ign.com/articles/109/1093169p1.html

Accompanying it is a pic of the big booth, and nothing else (other than links to the 4 confirmed games).

So there are secrets within the Booth........ that bodes well for a private showing...

That is outside the booth... IGN is reporting that no one can go inside since it is one of the few booths that is "completely private" and only those with pre-scheduled appointments are allowed inside:

If you look at the rest of the pics, the dinosaur is actually part of the FO:New Vegas "Las Vegas" sign.

Thank you. You see, I actually thought that gamesas was working on a Jurassic Park game set in Skyrim. Silly ol me, always jumping to conclusions.

To be honest, I love Beth's secrecy. Even if that booth has nothing even closely related to TES, it gets me even more excited about it.

Has anyone mentioned the rpg site we are not allowed to link to (CODEX :whisper: ) where a forum "discussion" mentions somebody from GI who has tweeted about the next front page?

Fact: a free-roam action-RPG set in Jurassic Park would be one of the coolest things ever.

Fact: Bears eat beets.

Bears beats Elder Scrolls.

Also, yes we've heard of the GI twitter with the "fantasy fans are going to crap themselves" and all that. Getting folks pretty hopeful.

If the next TES is gonna look half as good as RAGE, then I'll be impressed(I 'm not sure if it's made be BETH though)

Rage looks amazing, I must say, and since Bethesda and Id are now the owned by Zenimax, that does allow Bethesda to use IdTech 5, but I doubt they will use it for TESV as they have stated they were going to do some heavy tweaks to their existing engine, which we all know is Gamebryo. Maybe TESVI, but that is like 132 years away at this point...

Cry. There may be a few suicides. But we'll regroup.

keep in mind that only two add any real length to the game, which is fairly short for completing all quests when compared with TES IV.

Operation: Anchorage is actually a fun game-within-a-game that really needs to be replayable :(
The Pitt? maybe 6 hours, if you have issues collecting all the ingots.
Broken Steel makes the game last longer on the MQ and offers new EXP possibilities.
Point Lookout is exactly what I wanted in a DLC: real exploration!
Mothership Zeta is short.

All totalled? Shivering Isles kicks the collective posteriors of Fallout 3's DLC. Even if Point Lookout rocks your socks. And has a T-Rex in it.

You failed to mention that the article clearly indicates that the known line-up (Rage, Brink, et. al) appears to await inside the booth for those with the pre-scheduled appointments. In other words, to see any of the games you need a pre-scheduled appointment.

Yes, that is what "appears" considering the total lack of the Skyrim billboard (they must have forgotten to put that up)... but the important part isn't what is plastered blatantly across for all to see, it is what is not known on the inside... hence that is what I mentioned.

Good news folks! Dragon Age made an appearance (though not DAII) with the announcement of new DLC. This could bode very well for the GI issue since we had Dragon Age a likely contender for the "fantasy" remark.

I am getting pretty stoked for that GI issue now...

Are we sure they're not just going to do a cover spot for Hunted: The Demon's Forge?

Hadn't thought of that, but the art is supposedly of a game not at E3 so that should discount Hunted.

Well no, because it isn't a sequel which was clearly outlined as the game that would be on the cover. There are other games that fit the bill (like Diablo III, Warhammer, etc.) that are sequels with potentially amazing fantasy art, but it is supposed to be a "huge" sequel that will make fantasy fans soil themselves... so the list isn't too long. Also, the game was not supposed to make an appearance at E3, and Demon's Forge is certainly there... come to think of it I think Warhammer is there too... so not a long list of options.

Yeah that link says nothing about Dragon Age...

Edit: Oh, I see now. Hmm, yet another DA DLC that I will not buy.

The more that E3 progresses, the more I can't wait for the GI cover. It really makes me excited as it seems so possible for an ES:V announcement, but I think I would have to buy pills to stop depression if it's something else...
