Everything I read makes it sound like The Last Guardian is not a sequel just the third game made by a certain group(forgive me for not knowing who)

Well Ico is technically the second game in the series with Shadow of Colossus being the prequel. I'm not quite sure where The Last Guardian fits into the mix.

I think all the potentialy pants crapping images for The Last Guardian have already been released.I ave zero interest in the game and ive already seen that feathered dog a hundred times and im guessing he's the title charachter. What else could they put on the cover that would make people crap thier pants?I'm not too worried about this game.

Nobody cares about July cover, it's been known for a while. We're talking about the august cover.

I just hope that the cover for the August issue of GI will not become infamous at all.

Meh we will see I doubt it will be TESV in the first place , *BUZZKILL*
I think this GI cover might not happen with TESV being on it.

A while back when Famitsu came out with the rumor about TESV being shown at E3, I posted on Andrew Reiner's GI online wall that they should look into it. He responeded almost right away with a simple "nope." He could have just been being an [censored], but I think it's because he already knew the rumor was false and that TESV was gonna be the cover story of the August issue. GI also did a whole week of "predictions" for E3. Even though the whole internet was abuzz with TESV speculation, they didn't mention it once. Its probably because they already knew it would be their August cover. These factors, coupled with the expiring Skyrim trademark and the absense of other games Andy McNamara's tweet could be about, give a TESV GI reveal a pretty darn good chance. I don't think the cover will be Dragon Age 2. It's just too soon for that. Plus did't they say they were gonna do a bunch of dlc for Dragon Age Orgins?

I wouldn't have thought so. Game magazines are a dying breed, so being offered the chance for an exclusive would be payment enough, especially with something as huge as TES:V.

That's kinda my point. If they had to choose between showing DA2 and TES V, they'd pick TES V unless there was money under the table. That's what I think, at least.

 No it wasn't.

"The Last Guardian's absence is nearly as mysterious. The upcoming title from Team Ico may very well be one of the industry's most-anticipated games – not only the core PlayStation community's – but there was no mention of it at this year's E3" - IGN

"Its lack of appearance at Sony's press conference was one of the biggest complaints among 1UP's staff and readers." - 1UP

Huh, my bad. It was listed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Entertainment_Expo_2010#Notable_featured_games, so...

But indeed, I do think Bioware will make more DA expansions/DLCs before announcing DA2.

Yes, that issue was revealed earlier in June... We're waiting for the August issue.

Haha, I have the same problem. I get my hopes too invested in these things. I got my hopes up for the Famitsu E3 rumor only to be disappointed by that. And now my hopes are way up for the August issue of GI. I can't take another disappointment. The GI cover better be true.

"Hey Farva, what's the name of that game that was on the cover of the July issue of Game Informer? You know, the one with the lightning powers?"

"You mean Infamous 2?"

Infamous 2...isn't that the game that's going to be released only 2 years after its predecessor? :P How long is the wait between TES games again :whistling:

I keep telling you guys Bethesda's going for a gritty fantasy reboot of IHRA Drag Racing with talking horses. Oh, you laugh now, but we'll see who has the last laugh when the August edition is revealed and the cover is full of pink horses drag racing away from a necromancer. ^_^

*sigh* The second week of July can't come fast enough.

Drag Racing: Narnia

[edit] ohh, read the link. Its nice to hear that the depression over TESV is more than just inside this forum.

What happened to the Where's Waldo remake? Or is that going to be included as a mini-game?

Good news, everyone! I was scouring through the E3 Prediction articles GameInformer was running pre-E3 (Days http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/07/e3-prediction-week-day-one.aspx, http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/08/e3-prediction-week-day-two.aspx, http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/09/e3-prediction-week-day-three.aspx, http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/10/e3-prediction-week-day-four.aspx, and http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/11/e3-prediction-week-day-five.aspx) and I noticed some interesting things:

  • As noted previously in this thread, there was absolutely no prediction of any Elder Scrolls-related reveals. Could this indicate early knowledge that it was not going to show up at the show at all - that a prediction was worthless because they already know it would be gracing their cover in the August issue?
  • The Last Guardian was listed as an E3 prediction in their http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/09/e3-prediction-week-day-three.aspx article. If they had prior knowledge that The Elder Scrolls V was definitely not going to make a showing, then this is a sure indicator that they had no idea whether or not The Last Guardian was going to be at E3. That kills any possibility of a Last Guardian GameInformer cover.

Playing Devil's advocate, if The Last Guardian really is the August cover, then they must have included that to cover their tracks. If so, why in the world would they not predict TESV? It's a huge game and nobody would've been that surprised if we saw it revealed at E3, so what's the deal?

I think it's much more likely that TESV is actually the August cover, and that's why it's absent from the list of predictions, unlike The Last Guardian. Even commenters on the prediction articles complain that TESV is absent from the list.

I guess what it comes down to is which possibility you find more believable: that TESV wasn't predicted because they had prior knowledge that it would be on their cover in August, or that it was forgotten (5 times in a row, no less) and a Last Guardian prediction was included to throw us off the scent. Personally, I'm definitely in the former camp.

That is something worth considering ConfusedCartman. Like alot of things, its not solid on its own, but taken together with all the other circumstantial evidence, it all presents a pretty decent case. Fingers crossed.
