Believe you me, if I thought I could get away with it I'd be there in a heartbeat. I have a plethora of medical conditions needing some tender loving socialized medicine, and the booze would help with the recovery

So does anybody want to start a pool on what day the GI cover is announced? I'll put five drakes on the ninth.

I thought Americans hated socialism :P

Chilling out and having a drink instead of getting to worked up over TES V.

Only the ones that watch Fox News. I'm too poor to hate socialism, and I'm too intelligent to watch Fox News.

So when Oblivion was announced, how much of a heads up did Bethesda give us before it was announced in GI?

 My favourite part of that debacle was when some genius reported that fantastic minds like Stephen hawking's would have been quashed by the "death panels" if he had been born to a country like the UK with the NHS, nevermind that he was and has been vocal in his thanks to the NHS for all their work and dedication

Everyone knows about Fable 3, so I don't see how that could be considered an exclusive announcement of any sort.

I actually kind of liked fable 2 but it will never replace tes not even on a magazine cover or else  :nuke: :flame: :swear: :toughninja: and I'll :gun: the creators of fable.

Fable 3 was shown at E3, so as long as the twitter announcement's requirements were correct (a sequel not shown at E3), then it can't be Fable 3. Current possibilities are: TES:V; Diablo 3; Dragon Age 2; The Last Guardian; and Guild Wars 3.

And wow, you're really invoking the wrath of the moderators by discussing drinking age and American socialism :o

Gentlemen...you would do well for yourself (and benefit this thread) to refrain from this off-topic discussion. It really becomes annoying when the hype builds around here for that's when the bugs come out of the woodwork to post their useless pvssyr. I know many of you are excited about TES:V (as am I :celebration:) but please avoid posting here unless you truly have something to add to the discussion. I've noticed that we're burning though these threads so fast that the really good posts are quickly getting buried beneath new threads.

They had a countdown on the site 8 days prior to the announcement. As far as I remember the GI article came a week or so after that, but I'm not sure.

Well whatever the cover is, I can tell you i will be getting the limited edition. (sorry if its off topic...)

Anyway, yeah someone mentioned a small little announcement on the websites mainpage, "TES V skyrim is coming" Would that really change anything for us regular posters and/or readers? We all know it is coming, it is extremely unlikely that they havent started work on it by noww...:P

I don't think they would do another countdown for ESV announcement.

Peace of mind is a great thing, and there's a vast gulf between knowing they're working on it and being "pretty sure."

Well, I just fired off an email to a couple of GI staffers asking about the aug cover. Don't expect a response, but I thought it worth the try :). Also, I wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a countdown of elderscrolls.com this time. I mean if a coundown shows up, EVERYONE will know what's next and no one will be suprised. I dunno

No one was really surprised the last time either, but who knows...

The great thing about the countdown was the way the daily clues fueled speculation. Obviously, we knew immediately that something was up, but exactly what? TES IV, obviously, but what did the clues tell us about its content?

Yes that's true, but now that they've done a game announcing countdown, any countdown will be assumed to be that.

Well, the GI cover should be shown in about a week, give or take, right? Well then.

Lady Evenstar is right. We all knew what the countdown was for. What made it interesting was the sort of hints it gave us: the countdown revealed the main antagonist of TESIV, for example.

True, we know (we can be pretty sure) the next game will take place in Skyrim, but what will the story/antagonist be? A countdown could give us hints about that.
Hmm if the akavir were to try and invade, wouldn't they have to go through skyrim?
