Official TES V Speculation Thread # 43

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 4:03 am

I do however very much care what is on the cover!

I just want to remind people about the postal warehouses... if we are looking at a distribution date of between 7/5 and 7/10 (those being the only mail-deliverable days next week) then we need to be aware that there are two options for GI. They can send them by Friday for distribution with the Mon-Wed bulk cycle or send them Monday for the Thu-Sat bulk cycle. Seeing as how no one at the postal warehouses sign NDA's we could know as early as Friday or as late as Monday what that cover is... Anyone have a relative at an NDC (Network Distrobution Center)?

Just to keep the sanity of this thread somewhat stable (who am I kidding, you folks are beyond help :P) I would like all of you to see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JETdPgQkIbM by the VlogBrothers, to those who do not know, the VlogBrothers are members of Youtube who post wonderful videos ranging from your allegories to real-life problems, to some of the most fascinating (weird?) facts about the world we live in. The key-point I would like to discuss is about 2 minutes into the video, but watch the whole thing to understand everything he's talking about, and lots of stuff he says earlier relates to what has been happening to this thread. Do not read the rest of this post before seeing the video!

Now assuming you have seen the video, you will notice how he talks about how to really appreciate something, you must suffer for it. In the words of Hank of the VlogBrothers "Fun isn't fun, unless you have unfun stuff to compare it with" That frustration, that pain that you are feeling, that intolerable wait for the next cover, that is what would make it so sweet and so amazing when it actually arrives. The more angry and anxious you are the sweeter the success of the announcement will feel. Now I'm not saying go all crazy and suicidal for the game, but whenever you feel it getting that intolerable that you would, as Stain called it, "Swoon like schoolgirls" just remind yourself that when it does come, you will be happy, and that is what's important! I just felt obligated to take action before I find out that one of my fellow speculators has committed suicide :P and if it turns out that the cover isn't TES, that's OK! Because that will make the real announcement even greater!

Take care everyone, and I hope you all have a pleasant week

Heh, the anticipation you'll feel.

Hey it might not work out. I went camping while E3 was going on and came back to almost zilch. The only good thing out of E3 that was actually shown was Portal 2.

you know, i'm really excited and want the game to be announced, however. I was feeling super frustrated and anxious sometime ago, but don't really feel that now. There just isn't any hype and if the game is announced in a few days i'll go, "that's really neat. i can't wait until it comes out. guess i'll go read about what people think about the announcement on beth forums. wo ho." sorry to be a downer, but i'm just not "feel'n it" at the moment. makes me think the game isn't going to be announced just yet. just my thoughts...

This made me fart in joy! :D

I cannot wait until Elder Scrolls VI is announced. Yes, you read that right. I'm going to start waiting.... now.

By the way, if Elder Scrolls V is announced, can the Elder Scrolls VI speculation threads start then? I was just curious.

I hope TESV is announced because it will make me bombastically estatic in lots of ways that are generally unrelated to other lots of ways. :D

I wonder what the expansions will be like, and what lands we get to go to. I hope it has a lot of stuff in it! I hope there is stuff you get to use, and doors you can open with stuff, and chests with stuff, and people saying stuff! I bet it will be in a land with stuff in it, and stuff will be surrounding the player, who will be wearing stuff. There may even be some stuff that can be stuffed inside of stuff with a sprinkling of stuff and a casting of summon stuff! There may even be an Argonian named Stuffs-Stuffing-Stuffer-Stuff and M'aiq the Liar will talk about stuff and there may even be a Khajiit named J'stuff, and an Imperial named Stuffus Stufferson and a Bosmer named Treestuff and I am now getting bored of stuff so I will hit the reply button, drink some stuff, drive somewhere, see stuff, do stuff and then come back and sleep and stuff.

Fallout 3 announcement from Bethesda with actual trailer came out on 6/5/07... The July cover of GI was Fallout 3... so they would have revealed that cover right about 6/5/07... so we if BGS follows the same ploy as FO3, we'll know in just a couple days time. I suspect that GI will reveal the cover likely by Friday so that they can send the mags to the warehouses to begin delivery next week... but I have made speculative date predictions in the not so distant past that have not come true so I don't want to jinx anything!!

I hope the TES trailer is nothing like the Fallout trailer. Told us nothing. Just cruelly teasing.

I'm hoping for a 2-3 minute trailer with in game visuals, nothing pre-rendered. Although I also 'hoped' to win the lottery last night. And the fact that I'm not out buying a monsterously expensive house right now will tell you exactly how my hopes for that one went.

I just happen to have this week off work and instead of getting out and soaking up the sun (or looking for a better job ;) ) I've been checking these forums until the wee hours hoping against hope for a confirmation...how sad!

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure GI always announces what the cover will be on their website a couple days before the mag ships.

More like a month in advance. The August cover will be revealed early July. The July cover was revealed early this month.

And I suppose we would hear about it from the TES website before the Game Informer website yes?

No you are correct, they announce it before it leaves the warehouse. What I am saying is that we are really close to any information, so if GI is going to announce it they have from now until it is shipped from the warehouse. Almost the same thing, but I can be pretty long-winded about it :)

Alright, this whole gameinformer thing has gotten everyone confused. Gameinformer issues are always released in the month BEFORE it's actual issue. (August issue will be released in July, September issue released in August.) And yes, the cover is released early in the month, several days before the actual issue is released, so the August cover will be revealed in early July, then be released about a week later.

Most magazines structure the issues in this fashion. It's kind of like car shopping, you are always looking at the next year's models.

Seem's a bit odd. I used to read a magazine when I lived in the uk called PCZone, and each month at the back would have a short preview of the next month's issue, which always seemed to be 2/3 days earlier to being released than the previous months issue. The magazine ended up being 2/3 months out of whack. Got a bit silly. Anyway, back on track...

I wonder about that assumption myself every time he comes around and we swoon like lonely schoolgirls.

Gstaff works for them, goes to their offices for work and does everything the developers do. He's definitely in on the action, no doubt about that.

FO3 as announced way back in 2004, remember. The magazine came out around the same time as the first trailer, which I guess counts as a pseudo-announcement.
