I have another red forehead.
Bethesda Softworks publishes games. Bethesda Game Studios is NOT developing Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, Brink, or Hunted: The Demon's Forge.
Bethesda Game Studios is developing a project at the moment, which is granted to be Elder Scrolls V.
I larff at anyone who thinks Bethesda Game Studios is actually developing Rage. Would these same people start believing that they are working on Doom 4, and also made Quake 4, Doom 3, Doom 2, Doom 1, Doom 0, Doom -1 and Quake 9 and Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy?
I know the Skyrim trademark has been tossed around for quite a bit, so people think that TESV will take place in Skyrim... but what if it isn't just Skyrim?
Even if it is just Skyrim, I think they will likely make a game-world considerably bigger than Oblivion. Or at least I hope so.
I wonder where any possible expansion would take place. Another Daedric realm? Summurset Isle? Actually, I wonder if visiting a Daedric realm would be possible in the original game. Such a task was done in Oblivion, although they all took place in Deadlands-type worlds (except for The Shivering Isles), these were still supposed to be the realms of Peryite and Boethiah.
Caves, forts, and mines are pretty much guaranteed in Elder Scrolls V, but what ruins might exist? I'm betting Dwemer, but could there be ruins from Akaviri, or even from the ancient peoples that came from the original land of the Nord? Or... ruins from the snow elves? Did the Ayleid exist in Elder Scrolls lore before Oblivion? If not, then we may be in for something completely new.
Considering the graphics of Fallout 3, I think DirectX 10 may be possible. DirectX 11 as well, but I have doubts about that. If they use Gamebryo, that is. I think it is possible that the graphics will be considerably better, but the system requirements not significantly steeper. Look at Crysis 2, I thought that game wouldn't come out until 2106 and would by then require all sorts of nanotechnological artificial brain virtual reality type stuffs that would plug directly into your brain through your ear... but instead they are saying it has the same requirements as Crysis.
Personally, I am hoping Elder Scrolls V explores Argonia, perhaps even more than one province. Can you imagine what Morrowind must look like considering the events of the Infernal City? Didn't Vvardenfell basically go boom? I wonder if ESV might explore that either directly or through indirect means - consequences that would fan out into the empire.
As for taking place 200 years after Oblivion, that could be a slip, but it could be false. We could all be wrong about Skyrim...
I just want more dragons. Lots more dragons, that you can mount and fly around in. Either official, or someone makes a mod, an Akatosh mount 2.0 of sorts.
