Official TES V Speculation Thread # 46

Post » Sat Apr 09, 2011 2:33 pm

This is working out perfectly for being TES V IMO.

Even excluding the trademark, we still have TES V as the most likely candidate for the GI cover. And here's why I think we see a reveal in the GI vs Quakecon.

What's a better way to drum up more attendance and attention to Quakecon?

A. A completely secret announcement, revealed on the spot out of the blue at Quakecon

OR

B. A cover reveal in a magazine about a month and a half prior to Quakecon, with diluted info and some art, and then a Beth announcement that there will be more info and maybe a demo at Quakecon?

This. This is quite plausible and if we needed anymore reason to support our claims.

And even if, on the off chance, the GI cover isn't TESV, it could still be at QuakeCon anyhow. Because yes, even to the super-optimist like myself I know there is still a chance it isn't TESV, but the chance is small and ever-shrinking as each new piece of evidence and speculation compiles.

Oh, and just doing a friend a favor: please don't ask Gamestop cashiers what the cover will be. They know no more than us, and at least the ones I used to work with are just as hopeful for TESV as we are.

And this is exactly what most of us proposed as a theory after the Pete Hines interview weeks before E3 2010 began... Man this spiralling speculation thread can be depressing :P

i agree with the above poster this seems the most plausible oppertunity weve had in a long while for an announcment about a month before quakecon a huge magazine known for large reveals like this is the first in a strom of info, much like what Infinity ward did with the first COD MW or what bungie did with ODST, a magazine release with no info prior to it and then a proverbial media blitz to drum up excitment its a fairly common strategy in this industry and GI seems to be a great launching point for it, the evidence is all there as we have seen and the stratagey has been used time and time again to great effect.

Once again, another useless slurry of posts that could have been avoided had at least the last thread been read.,

This and the reason I hesitated when adding it.

Right; she's just a moderator. She probably put that there to inform people who incorrectly believe that BGS might be working on an MMO or one of the other titles. Nothing to worry about there.

I'm sorry everyone I had not read all posts in the last thread and as a result I accused summer cooperating with Beth

Ah yes, the TES V Speculation Thread. The only place in the entire internet where it's not a good thing to cooperate with Bethesda. XD

I've noticed that the local Gamestop store gets it's copies of the new Gameinformer before I get mine in the mail. There's usually a stack of them sitting on the counter. Does this happen to anyone else? If it is a common thing, maybe visiting the stores would pay off.

I assume it all has to do with how close you live to a distribution office.

Not sure if this is much of anything (or if it's already been mentioned, I try to stay up to date with these threads but they move pretty quickly, and usually when I'm asleep :P), but in a news post on the QuakeCon website, it says the following:

About Bethesda Softworks:

Bethesda Softworks, part of the ZeniMax Media Inc. family of companies, is a premier developer and worldwide publisher of interactive entertainment software. Titles from two of the world’s top development studios – Bethesda Game Studios and id Software – are featured under the Bethesda Softworks label and include such blockbuster franchises as DOOM, QUAKE, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein and RAGE. For more information on Bethesda Softworks’ products, visit www.gamesas.com. Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, ZeniMax, Brink, Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, The Elder Scrolls, Oblivion and related logos are trademarks or registered trademarks of ZeniMax Media Inc. in the U.S. and/or other countries. Fallout and Fallout: New Vegas are trademarks or registered trademarks of Bethesda Softworks LLC. in the U.S. and/or other countries. All Rights Reserved.

It's probably nothing. But I do so love to get my hopes up.

hmmm, I see where you are going with this but they also list Oblvion, now I'm pretty sure they are not going to showcase Oblivion again, so it might just be a trademark, copyright type of thing.

How about handing one out to everyone here? It seems we're still in these heated discussions... ;-)
Haven't been here a couple of days. No news on the GI cover from what I understand?

Actually, the July issue has nothing to do with TES V. We're waiting for the August cover, which is almost certain to be revealed this week or next week. We're hoping the August issue of GI is TES V.

And so is the magazine. The July issue was released in June, the June issue released in May, and so on.

Lol, dude, they're just listing their trademarks. That's like going to the Elder Scrolls website, spotting a trademark for "The Elder Scrolls", and using it as proof.

So I think if it's not TESV on GI cover and if it's not at Quakecon, we band together, march on Bethesda Game Studios and take TESV by force, and let modders finish whatever is left.
