Official TES V Speculation Thread # 46

Post » Sat Apr 09, 2011 3:56 am

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1090035-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-164/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

We realise that everyone is anxious about news for this game, but the thread is being used as a chat box with a lot of off-topic and spammy posts. The same forum rules apply to this topic as the rest of the boards so please stay on topic.

Note that Bethesda Game Studios is NOT working on Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, Brink, or Hunted: The Demon's Forge -- Nor do they develop MMOs.

Andy McNamara from Game Informer tweeted about the August Game Informer issue: "Got the cover art in today for the next issue. Giant sequel not at E3, and the art...well, fantasy nuts are gonna crap themselves". GI reveals their covers generally between the 5th and 12th of the month.

How so, like, at all?

I'd say considerably higher now that we know GW2 won't be the GI cover.

I speculate that Tuesday is the day to watch for the next GI cover. Good way to come back from a long weekend and get some buzz going for their mag and site at the beginning of the week.

That is pretty reasonable.

I am going to call BGS in the morning just to see if they are open. If they're closed, we can be pretty sure there won't be an announcement on Monday.

Dragon quest is definately a AAA franchise just because you consider it crappy doesn't mean the millions if other fans do as well same goes for kingdom hearts.

Many other people might though. You guys need to step outside of your own perspective sometimes.

Having said that, I think when the dude said "fantasy game" he specifically meant the orcs and elves and swords and magic kind of fantasy.

Thank you exactly what I was thinking. There are millions of fans of the dragon quest and kingdom hearts series some of these peoples perspective are blind and reeks of false hope.

But there's been so much swell of TESV lately, for the August issue of GI to not be TESV would be a sin.

I mean, we've essentially had more speculative fuel given to us in the last month than we've had for 3 years.

I thought Dragon Quest was at E3? Or was it IX that was at E3... I know that IX has been out in Japan, but not in the states yet...

If I were thinking of these two games and had to pick one where the fantasy art had a chance of making me soil myself, it would be Dragon Quest... I love the Kingdom Hearts games, but they are like some psycho dream where Disney meets FF and it is a fun ride for sure, just not "fantasy art".

Just another trademark coincidence with a smidge of crazy numerology:
Interestingly, the international filing date and the listed filing date for the original mark is two weeks after the application date. Why do I find this to be interesting? 7/5/10 is two weeks from the application date of the new mark. 7/5/10 is the earliest we'll see a GI cover reveal...

7+5+10=22
2+2=4
4 Years since the 4th Installment
4+4=8
...wait, where was I going with this?

Oh yeah...

I have concluded that we will only know when they tell us... nothing more.

:)

But while we wait, we might as well have some fun, eh?

Trademark summary:

Zenimax currently holds 4 trademarks without concrete evidence of what they are:

Deathmark
Dishonored
Giant Monster News
Skyrim

Skyrim has trademarks for "clothing" and "publications, such as manuals and guides", as well as two applications covering "video games".
The most recent application is a broader video game trademark filed June 21th (thank you Sylt), as I recall. Note that Oblivion also had two trademark applications covering "video games" concurrently. The broader of the two is the one that was kept alive, but Zenimax also used one for what amounts to "written material about a video game", which is one of the original three Skyrim applications, and does NOT have a new filing currently.

Corrected filing date of newest Skyrim mark reply to this.
