Official TES V Speculation Thread # 48

Post » Mon Apr 18, 2011 8:17 am

Yeah I don't get that argument though...

Didn't they already release multiple DLC/expansions for it? Yes they did! So this part is fulfilled!

Too soon you say? Didn't we see Assassin's Creed 2 only released last November, and Lo and Behold... we have Assassin's Creed 3 at E3! Hmmm... sounds like we have video game precedence for not being too soon!

I am all for knocking DAII out of the running, to better the chances of TESV making the cover, but I can't go on absolute blind faith.

EDIT: double speak removed!

One expansion =/= multiple expansions.

Plus, there's that date that came with Awakening. I bet they'll wait until then to announce something.

AC: Brotherhood isn't AC3.

I thought it was. Well, that gives me a bit more hope then that the cover isn't DA2.

Maybe it's the release date for the second expansion pack.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Or, they can announce something then.

Whatever that release date is for, I am confident the cover will not be Dragon Age related.

Ya, but they also rented out their adopted kid to other developers.

No, they're letting the biological family have a role in their adopted kid's life. Which is nice.

Also, Alice 2? Really? I played it, I liked it (can't say I loved it, it was just a mediocre platformer/shooter underneath the art direction), but there's no way that "fans of fantasy" care about it.

You know, about the whole Alice thing, it has been noted that the tweet said that the art will make fantasy nuts crap their pants. I never played the original, but from the sounds of it the art direction itself might be pants-crappingly good.

I still think the tweet meant the cover art not concept art in and of itself.

You mean the artwork that would be on the cover of the game box? I can't imagine that would be terribly exciting if it ends up being TES V. I assumed it would be like the cover of the http://worthplaying.com/press/152/elderscrolls4_cover.jpg.

Cover art = art on the cover. GI has a http://gameinformer.com/mag/covers.aspx up, a whole lot of it is really good.

Indeed, the art for the cover of GI is specially made for GI, if I recall correctly.

Come to think of it, there was artwork in Game Informer that made me nearly crap my pants... even though it was a game I'm probably not going to play. Epic Mickey. Just seeing the melting ears... so... freaking creepy. I had near-butt-releasing nightmares after that.

Or Gex...I thought it was so cool so long ago, but now, I look back on it and it makes me cringe.

Game Informer has come a long way...though no art, no matter how good, would make me "crap myself". That's a good thing, too, because I'm tired of buying new boxers.

Can someone give me a breakdown on how skyrim compares to cyrodiil? What would it look like will there still be lush forests, rolling hills and beautiful vegetation and water...

Damn... I was just getting really excited... I got a server error on all Bethesda's sites so I thought: this is it!!!! Turns out it really only was an error.
Back to waiting, and refreshing and some more waiting. :sadvaultboy:

Yeah, but it wasn't just the forum. Bethesda's main site as well as the Elder Scrolls site were down. That's what got me.
Anyway, everything seems up and running again without any major changes.

I'm sure. Nobody knows for certain, there is the lore, I don't care about that though because the lore said Cyrodiil was a jungle. Anyways...what I would go on is Oblivion, Not Oblivion, and Scandinavia.

Oblivion because it was set in a temperate climate, which most games will have some of. Not Oblivion because they want to make it a little different. Scandinavia because the Nords are heavily based around medieval Scandinavians, "vikings" if you will, AND its more Taiga and Tundra than Temperate, which helps satisfy the "not Oblivion" requirement.

Now, some people are worried it will all be snow. Wrong. I'm guessing the very north will be like the arctic, always snowy, it could be flat "frozen desert" or it could be mountainous. The middle will be pine forest with some snow, mountains and valleys. The south may have some plains, hills, etc.

I may be totally wrong, but I'm guessing a mixture of those climates. Probably quite a few bogs as well, less open grassland. Fjords, if you're into that sort of thing.

No.

You probably wouldn't need to ask if there was. There would be forty posts a minute about it for an hour, either way.

Just please announce before the 14th of July. I've got plans for that day, with a somewhat smaller community that will be celebrating something that might be more important to them than TES V is here...

We have what? 3 days left on the presumed cover release window?

All the ones from this year are excellent. They're doing something right.

The ones from the 90s are nostalgia overload.

Just because i don't know, but who exactly is Gstaff ?

Obviously he's someone important, but i currently feel that i'm missing out on something, so any help would be nice.

On the topic of speculation, just so as to allow this post, i don't feel that the game will be DA 2, mainly because of the expansions.
Surely they wouldn't announce something less than a week after releasing a new expansion, it just doesn't make sense.

Following on from earlier, the whole AC 2/3 thing, that scenario is completely different to DA 1/2.
First of all, DA2 would probably need a whole new world, whereas AC only needs a new city.
Secondly,, the second and third AC's gameplay hours put together are roughly 35 hours, whereas DA:O alone is over 100, so it would take a hell of a lot longer to create a game of similar length.
Finally, there are a load more reasons that i currently can't think of. :) (Y) to TES fans!!
