Official TES V Speculation Thread # 48

Post » Mon Apr 18, 2011 4:08 am

Perhaps on Friday they change elderscrolls.com to simply display a concept art (kinda like what they did with Fallout) and leave us the whole weekend to go nuts....and announce Monday? This is purely a guess.

It would definitely be strange to see more than one news article every four months.

Here's what's really stupid, there have been 3 fallout games announced since there release of Oblivion, it's like that forgot about thier original child and are spoiling the heck out of the adopted kid. This is just an idea I thought up.

Remember, though, that only one of those three games were developed by Beth.

The discussion has really deteriorated in the past 10 threads and I'm disappointed the rules haven't been more strongly enforced.

Stuff like that happens when you have ten 11-page threads discussing a single tweet.

Yeah, I can't talk about the privileged information I know - way too awesome for the public boards :hehe:

Must you tease me so? :cryvaultboy:

I kid, I kid.

Well yeah, but BGS has only made FO3, not New Vegas or the online game. And BGS is working on a secret project (they said so a while back) and since it's most likely not FO4, it's TES V. :)

There's 3?

Ya, but they also rented out their adopted kid to other developers.

While unlikely, Thief 4 may be a contender for the GI as well. It's been stated before that Eidos Montreal is busy developing Deus Ex 3, but still- they could be hard at work on Thief 4 too. I dunno.

"Eidos Montreal indicated that their studio is 'completely dedicated to 'Deus Ex' at the moment,'" http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010/06/03/thief-4-may-be-coming-to-ps3-but-definitely-not-to-e3-2010/

Thief 4 has the potensial of making me almost as happy as a TES V-announcement.

That's our lot. We're the plebeians of these forums. Hopefully, within the week, we'll be the ones laughing.

Doesn't GI have a pattern of revealing their covers on a Friday? It seems to me that if this is the case, the ninth is the date to look for.

Also, I want it to be known that I called the ninth several threads back. When the cover is revealed on Friday, you may indeed kiss my ring.

I like it! I am gonna be hiking Mt Washington this weekend, so it'll be perfect fodder for my imagination whilst climbing away!

And that adopted kid is getting all of the fun, unlike TES which looks as though it's getting neglected. I only say that cause it seems TES hasn't seen like of day since GotY release.

I'm personally okay with humor, but I believe the real issue is the ridiculous rehashing of old discussions and the ecstatic posts that offer nothing to the real discussion. Once or twice? No problem. Every single freaking thread? That's very annoying and really takes away from the general discussion. The discussion has really deteriorated in the past 10 threads and I'm disappointed the rules haven't been more strongly enforced. However, I understand that people are excited but a simple read through of past threads would clear up many unnecessary posts. This post itself really ought not to have been posted...oh well.

Seriously. I honestly would be ecstatic if the mods locked this thread every hour or so, and unlocked it an hour later. People really need to calm down, we're going through a thread a day and adding absolutely nothing new to our current speculations. What did we accomplish last thread, that Alice 2 is a possibility? And that was on the very last post! Everything else was arguing or discussing the same old thing over and over and over again.

Here's what's really stupid, there have been 3 fallout games announced since there release of Oblivion, it's like that forgot about thier original child and are spoiling the heck out of the adopted kid. This is just an idea I thought up.

To everyone confused, I believe TheRealWolfman is talking about Bethesda "announcing" Fallout 3, 4 and 5 in that interview in the last thread... I think.

We have discussed so many possible games that could be the cover that it worries me the cover may end up something so obscure we overlooked it. Hopefully not but I still think the strongest possibilities are versus xiii, diablo 3 or dragon age 2.

That shows that TES is getting more attention from Beth. Besides, do you want Bethesda to have multiple companies make TES games?

The whole thing on "Fallout getting more fun" doesn't seem to make sense to me. Elder Scrolls isn't getting neglected, I promise you. If anything, it is getting more attention from Beth if they are handing out the Fallout title rights so readily.

Kind of Antibody, I was talking about Fallout 3, New Vegas, Online, now that you mention 4 and 5, that makes five total games, that's almost as many games in the entire ES saga.

They only let Obsidian make New Vegas so they can give Fallout fans a game to play while they work on TES V. At least that's what I believe. I'm sure that come 2013 or so Fallout fans will be clamoring for Fallout 4 just like we are doing right now for TES V. Bethesda isn't treating any series better, they're just covering their bases. The Fallout MMO somebody mentioned earlier is being made by Interplay and is not something Bethesda wanted them to make, or so it seems considering they're currently in a legal battle over it.

Bethesda commissioned two books for us TES fans to read, because they luvs us, but a lot of people on this forum complained about it being poorly written and amateurish. When the first rumors of a TES MMO surfaced, a MMO which is very likely being made whether we like it or not, the vast, vast majority of forum members who posted about it were, well, freaking the hell out, for lack of a better term. Bethesda knows TES fans are picky, and they know that if they let another developer make a TES game, they would have an extremely hard time convincing their fans to accept it. They don't have as much of a problem with their Fallout 3 fans because they're brand new fans to a newly rebooted series.

Some people have said that. But there's no evidence to prove it.

It isn't "supposed" to, no. We have no idea when it could be announced, it could be before, and it could be after, an announcement. My money's on it being announced after TES V is announced to generate more sales of the book and hype for the game. One thing's for sure, it will most definitely come out before TES V is released.

I agree. A fall release is likely as well... great stocking stuffer!

We can discard Dragon Age 2. BioWare has stated that they want to release multiple DLC/expansions for it. Plus, it's way too early for a sequel.

Yeah I don't get that argument though...

Didn't they already release multiple DLC/expansions for it? Yes they did! So this part is fulfilled!

Too soon you say? Didn't we see Assassin's Creed 2 only released last November, and Lo and Behold... we have Assassin's Creed 3 at E3! Hmmm... sounds like we have video game precedence for not being too soon!

I am all for knocking DAII out of the running, to better the chances of TESV making the cover, but I can't go on absolute blind faith.

EDIT: double speak removed!

Hopelessly ninja'd but I'll post anyway.

I believe the second book will be announced after TES:V. The exact timeframe is difficult to pin down, but I'd say either this year in time for the holidays or early next year.
