I still think the mods were told to downplay this whole GI thing. Its been a consistent "hardly any chance" from every moderator

Remember to follow the rules, guys. Let's not get this topic locked.

Besides, if it's not Game Informer this month, it could be QuakeCon. Don't give up so soon...

Damn, it's amazing to see so many people instantly lose hope because of a tweet which, as far as we can tell, has nothing to do with Game Informer. Why don't we wait until tomorrow and see if the cover is revealed and shown to be DAII before jumping off the bridge, eh?

As I've said time and time again hope isn't lost until the very instant they announce the GI cover. And even then, we have to wait until the Skryim trademarks expire. Then and only then should we all start freaking out.

C'MON, at the very least, its time to severely lower expectations. What else could this tweet mean?

And I'm off the bridge, there's not pulling me back up

I still think it will be something else from Bioware, definitely not DA2, for the same reasons I explained earlier. It just doesn't make sense, and it would seem the tweet would have said Dragon Age fans instead, or maybe not.

I agree, normally I would think it was no big deal, but since it happened right in the time frame of the GI announcement....

about "game fantasy nuts will crap themselves over".

For me it would be:

1. TES V
2. Kotor III
3. Baldur's Gate III

Could Beyond Good & Evil 2 be a possible candidate for the GI cover ?

Yeah, after seeing that tweet I went to their forums to see what people there thought and while browsing the forum index and seeing the Baldur's Gate forum... Well lets just say I saw how much that game fit the description we thought was TES all along.

Not sure that is what they are talking about however, Baldur's Gate is the "father" to Neverwinter Nights, and the "grandfather" to Dragon Age.

Along with the Ultima series, Baldur's Gate are some of the RPGs I grew up with. However, the two TES games (Morrowind and Oblivion) are hands down my favorites.

Fine, act irrational if you wish. The tweet could mean a lot of things, including an announcement of a new game that isn't the GI cover, the announcement of a new DLC, etc etc. Remember when Bioware put a countdown on their website a few weeks ago, getting everyone all excited, only to reveal the Bioware Bazaar? They could be doing something similarly disappointing. My expectations aren't lowered, because I see no reason to lower them. Now, if this was July 11th, and we still hadn't had the cover revealed yet, then yes, my expectations would be lowered.

I don't know, their last big announcement had a countdown, and was a crappy bazaar, so we might be safe.

...For now.

I don't know much about things like this, so your call is probably best here.

Arx Fatalis 2  Dungeon Keeper 3 ?!

No, no chance actually...
I don't think KOTOR counts as fantasy for the regular person.

Maybe its irrational to think that this tweet means something big from Bioware, and it just so happens to be the 1/3 possible days that a GI cover with a huge fantasy sequel will be revealed...

Now my hoped are slightly raised. :)

But either way, with the whole two trademark thing, I am confident that an announcement of TES V will be soon. Maybe not in the GI, but they did the two trademark thing right before they announced Oblivion, and I think Fallout 3 too.

I assure you, that is not the case. As many of us have stated in the past, we do not get much lead time for any announcement - and sometimes none at all.

I am re-opening the thread, but will keep an eye on it. Guys, you all need to not get so worked up over this sort of speculation - you've filled up half a dozen threads in the past couple of days basically saying the same thing and then drifting off into sidebar discussions and non-contributing posts. It is fun to speculate, but keep a good handle on your common sense too.

The mods know nothing more than we do.

Haven't you read over their posts at all?

BREAKING NEWS!!!

So after I took a little walk, I came back and sat down and checked out my Twitter feed. As you know, we had a mix up yesterday when someone thought they discovered TES V on twitter but to only find that it was one of my URLs.

Well it seems i have fooled another person.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a328/Mikeandike1/LOLatGI.jpg

For online proof http://twitter.com/elderscrolls5 and click followers.

I wonder why they're following me? Do they believe Bethesda has set up a twitter account because the announcement is soon to come in their magazine? Do they think im some sort of speculator? Are they trying to torture me?

Heres one thing I know for sure. They added me after I tweeted about the gameinformer cover..

....I smell some hope.

Isn't it possible that if it isn't on this GI it's on another one in the next few months? There's plenty of chances between QuakeCon and E3 2011.

Hah. At the very least, that's entertaining, regardless of whether things go good or ill.

Not gonna lie, the Bioware tweet is slightly disheartening, but as quite a few others have put forth, it's not a causal link by any means. A suggestive pointer, perhaps, but not concrete.
Oh well. I've been patient for somewhere around 4 years; I can wait another day and quite a while longer beyond that, depending on how things go.

Hm... If you tweeted in your tweet for the next GI cover to be ESV, why would GI possibly add you if that was incorrect and the GI WASN'T ESV?... They would know it's just a fake ESV twitter. This is interesting.

It is very interesting. This is all entertaining, and confusing.
