Official TES V Speculation Thread # 49

^Yeah, mods don't know. Even if they did know they would have to pretend they don't.

She just said that in case it's not TES V. Her post doesn't mean it's not TES V.

Summer just killed my hopes. I know that moderators aren't Beth employees, but that made me think that they know it won't be TESV this GI.

How would the know? They might get news of announcements mere hours before it's announced. Don't give up hope too quickly.

Summer is off for a while, but I am here now and much more of a hardass. The moderators know no more than any of the other members, if there is going to be something we may get a few hours notice of "some news" but we don't get specific information.

Keep this topic within the limits set down in the two OP posts. OK?

The brown Bear is right. We need to get back on topic, and gain our faith back.

I feel that there's too much evidence for this GI to NOT be TES V.

It will not be world of warcraft 2. Blizzard has stated the new MMO they are working on is a new IP.

From a blue post, found this quickly with a google search.

"Games take years to develop from concept to release. Diablo III was in the works for years before being announced. StarCraft II was announced two years ago and isn't even in Beta yet.

We have nothing to advertise for the new MMO because it's a shell of a game thus far. We've already stated it'll be a brand new franchise, which means the lore, art, and game play are being developed entirely from scratch. It's an overwhelming process, but a process through which we excel. Our track record supports this. " -Zarhym

Link to the post http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=16903519279&postId=169024684459&sid=1.

Having said that its possible they could be revealing their new MMO because that quote is over a year old, but as many have said already, if they make an announcement I would expect it at blizzcon as opposed to a GI cover.

Yes, for all of the reasons hat have been rehashed over the last 10 threads. I'm expecting TES V, honestly, almost with certainty.

p.s im in a bad mood and dont even think the GI cover will be tes, so pardon my rudeness.

If v isn't the gi cover and not announced at quakecon what would be the next likely event for an announcement?

I completely understand LOL, I get kind of rude too. But this is getting tiring, and I agree, even if this isn't TES V, I want this GD magazine to come out. (I still think its TES V)

Many of the newer titles have been ruled out, but has anybody ruled out a sequel to a truly classic fantasy RPG - Ultima, Wizardry, Bards Tale, Dungeons and Dragons etc.?

I did read somewhere a while back that someone was working on an Ultima sequel.

This is getting a little chat-boxy, guys.

Anyway, to try to add something (relatively) new, I am quite comfortable in saying that TES V will be announced soon (GI or not) due to their new Skyrim trademark on top of their old one. They did the same type of thing right before they announced Oblivion, and I think, Fallout 3 too.

Dungeons and Dragons

There is currently a legal battle over that, so I doubt it will be the GI cover.

If this is the case, then I think we need to accept that TES V is a long ways off, if they skipped the great opportunity they have now.

I think we decided it couldn't be D&D due to some legal issues.

On a side note, I'm out of here till Friday, probably for the best, I would encourage others to do the same. It probably won't be announced until then and we're just pissing off the mods.

That rules out 1 of the 4 games mentioned that isn't a good percentage. What about ultima, wizardry, or bards tale.

Well we haven't even talked about them yet, I was just rehashing something that has already been said.

We're screwed....

EDIT: On second thought seems like they're referring to a new IP by saying Bioware fans.

Or maybe Dungeons and Dragons will make a return after all. Meh, can't say I would be completely disappointed.

It is indeed. I like Dragon Age and Bioware alright but Dragon Age and the expansion pack has only been out for a small amount of time :S Could easily go 1 year without hearing any news from them, but for TES V we've waited far longer >_<.
