Official TES V Speculation Thread # 50

Post » Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:28 pm

I would like to believe Greg has finished the second book by now, so hopefully they'll announce the book soon.

Its top secret classified.

I think it would make more sense if we speculated the novel. Lets think logically here. They said so themselves that the 2 novels will bridge Oblivion and TESV, the first one is published, so one would think that they would announce TESV after the 2nd novel...

This seems one of the most logical things so far. It makes sense on their behalf too as people will be likely to buy the new novel to get some potential plot details about TESV.

Has there been a release date/rough date given for the second novel? If there has then this could potentially give us some scope on how long it is until Bethesda might announce TESV.

I personally believe the next TES novel will have something to do with TES:V, and at the very least, be the catalyst for the storyline for TES:V.

I think that they would announce TESV without giving away too much and then they would release the novel shortly after. I think the novel would sell a lot better then.

Maybe, but if the novel penultimates the game I think it would make sense if they released the game shortly after the novel is released.

The other possibility is the tight lipped behavior with the book as well means that it is linked with the TES V announcement. Its either tied to the announcement somehow, or Bethesda is extremely arrogant. Either or. I'm hoping its tied to the announcement.

No official dates, but I would think this Christmas (the cold climate=Skyrim?)

Nothing has been revealed in regards to the second novel. It takes a while to write these things, especially if you're writing in someone else's universe and have to conform to their needs. Eight months may not be enough (in fact, I'd be they aren't. Very few authors can churn them out that quick).

I'd think the 2nd novel was well on its way to being finished by the time the 1st novel was announced

Okay, GameInformer knows Mikedzine's Elder Scrolls V page is fake.

Soo... let the speculation regarding ";)" begin? I don't think it adds up to much, as its pretty obvious its not a real account. Still, interesting that they replied at all, and then added that last little bit. If I knew, thats how I'd be teasing.

I thought Greg Keyes said he was well into writing the second novel in an interview shortly after the release of The Infernal City?

Anyway, I kind of figured that we would not hear an announcement about TESV until the second novel was released, especially if it bridges the gap between the two games.

That being said, I think I recall s the novel being brought up again by Bethesda recently. I think I remember seeing a few things about it on the blog, but it seems the blog is down at the moment so I can't look.

Agreed. This brings up something to consider what if the author doesn't finish the book in the time frame he was given. Does that push back announcement? or if it takes way too long even release?

Eh. It could mean something. But it also couldn't. They might just have added that in there to toy around with me because I've written some frustrating things in my twitter about ESV not being announced through GI yet.

I have a new strategy. How about a ton of us tweet to Andy McNamara to give us hints about the next GI cover. If he tells us "okay this time around shooter fans will be happy", we can rest knowing that ESV won't be announced next month, and that Zenimax will abandon the three old trademarks.

Well I'm fresh out of ideas, only thing of note is that the Bethblog seems to be down. I'm guessing they're preparing some filler material for us TES fans before we storm their head office :lmao:

I couldn't help but notice in the article: "how are building and "

But maybe I'm just super desperate at this point and grasping at straws. :P It's probably nothing.

I'd have expected a cover spread, really. After Oblivion and FO3 Bethesda is a major player in the industry.
