Official TES V Speculation Thread # 53

Here is another theory

Tausius Theory:
*2nd novel released in early-mid 2011
*ES5 announced in late 2011
*ES5 released in later 2012 for the Holiday rush.

Here is my theory

Joeius Capricornius Theorius:

* 2nd novel announced within next two months, released November/December 2010.
* Elder Scrolls V announced within next five months. With all things considered, if they do GameInformer route, it could be any issue from September to... a while later.
* TESV may get a showing at E3 2011 if it is announced within next five months.
* TESV is released late 2011 at the earliest, although I am always open to possibilities involving it being released earlier than that, maybe even this December, but that is *LOL* a bit unrealistic.
* Dragon Age 2 will svck in comparison to TESV.

My second theory:

Joeius Capricornius Theorius Abridged Versionium:

*TESV will be released in the future.

am i the only person who seems to think the next ES book will have something to do with TES:V? i think we'll get announcement in the book itself, or is that possible? i know beth would have to put it on their website or announce it before it comes out in GI but would they have to do that if the book they're announceing it in is owned by them?

I've been thinking the same thing. I'm hoping TES V will be revealed in the September GI and then shown more at QuakeCon, but if that's not the case, my theory is that the book will be announced/released in the next few months with info on TES V in it.

P.S. There's no way TES V will be next gen. I don't know why people are even mentioning it. It's silly. In 2008, Paul Oughton, Bethesda's publishing executive, said this: "At the moment we've got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there's a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010." A statement like that means that TES V had, at the time, been on Bethesda's minds for quite a while and that they already started working on it. They've probably been working on it since before 2008, but we basically know for sure they've been working on it AT LEAST two years. TES V is more likely than not, almost finished. Add that to the fact that this gen of consoles is gonna last a heck of a lot longer, at least 3 more years, probably more. There's no way Bethesda will delay TES V until then... If they did, not only would their fans, who are already impatient enough with them, be madder than they already are, they would also make so much LESS money. Bethesda is, at its core, a business just like any other. Sure they want to please their fans, but they also want to make as big a profit as they can. Releasing TES V on this gen would achieve both those goals. Waiting till the next gen wouldn't...

Quite the opposite. In the reviewers version of the first book and the first book description (Waterstones and Amazon) stated that the books' story takes place 45 years after the Oblivion crisis and bridges the gap between Oblivion and TES:V. Of course, that was all quickly removed but we're convinced the gaffe was based on real information and not a blind fabrication (see my outdated sig for more information).

EDIT: corrections for bad memory

Quite the opposite. In the reviewers version of the first book and the first book description (can't remember the retailer's name...clearwater?) stated that the books' story takes place 90 years after the Oblivion crisis and bridges the gap between Oblivion and TES:V. It was Waterstones and Amazon.

45 years after the Oblivion crisis is when the book takes place. The reviewers copy said the next game would take place 200 years after Oblivion.

good point, but couldnt they just port it over like they did with the PS3? they originally released oblivion for the Xbox 360 and PC and later ported it over to the PS3 when it was released

Yeah shure. that is absolutely an option. But they still have to wait for 2014/2015 to release TES V, which is 4-5 years from now. That means 8-9 years after Oblivion and 6-7 years after Fallout. Too long time imo. And wouldnt a multiplatform game released simultaneously suit them better? A port is usually worse than the original, and i don`t understand why they cannot develop the game for Xbox and PS3. I don`t know about if we have met the graphical limit with Xbox 360 (i doubt it), but PS3 is still far away from beeing tamed. No way Bethesda make a game that is superior to the PS3.

Okay!

I don't know what do you think, but if we continue like that, we're going to have more than hundred theories and the dialogue will continue like that:

- my theory say released in march 2011
- no no no! MY theorie say release in april 2011
- Come on guys! That is june!

Do you see what i mean?

So for the "theorists" ^^, i suggest to give us some tangible informations with there predictions.

Thank you!

PS: that's only my opinion, i don't want to impose my opinion to anyone...

guess i could have explained better, i meant announcement wise. Like using the second book to announce TES:V.

This isn't ground breaking news, but I like it:

'I have been in video games design and development on two major projects: Fallout 3 and an unannounced RPG led by former Elder Scrolls: Oblivion designer, Ken Rolston. '

We all know TES:V is being developed, but this is probably the first developer I've seen that is this concrete without breaking NDA's. Seems to me like he's saying '... Let's just saaay I'm working with the former Oblvion designer on an unnanounced RPG. *wink* '

I don't get what he means by former oblivion designer doesn't he mean someone who helped make oblivion and quit.

Huh? I thought Ken Rolston wasn't at Bethesda anymore.

And, I can't see the link. It says I need an account basically. Can you tell us who the developer is?

So that quote is basically telling us Rolston is back working at BGS and he's the lead designer on ESV?

Ken Rolston apparently USED to work at Big Huge Games... I searched his name on Google and it brought up his page on BigHugeGames.com. I clicked on it, and it said it could not be found.

Ken Rolston is working on the MMORPG codenamed "Project Mercury" at 38 studios, the gaming company founded by Curt Schilling. Sorry....

I don't know what link Leydenne removed (so I won't post any sources of my own) but I did some digging and basically the developer who said they were working on an unannounced RPG with Ken Rolston was referring to his former work and Big Game Studios, the studio that Ken Rolston now works at.

I hope that clears everything up. This has nothing to do with TES V.

I just want to clarify something, I like to dig around for info... I am not on the next-gen bandwagon, and this is mainly due to either Pete or Todd making a statement after FO3 that they would like to release another game on this current gen. It was a while ago and before I became concerned with keeping a bibliography for any of my posts, so if any of you have the link, I'd like to add it to my collection :)

Also, the single mark application for the few months before an announcement is certainly a nice new tasty bit! Excellent find!!

Wait? What?

Where?

Are you just talking about the new mark with some new stuff on it for Skyrim? If so, why say "few months before an announcement?"

Basically, what are you going on about?

No no no... for Oblivion and other games, they filed for a mark with no description just a month or so before they announced the games... that means we can look for this to appear as an indicator on an impending announcement... it isn't here yet!

EDIT: It was in post #27 of this thread

Ah, yes, I remember now. Yes, if we just keep looking for the No Word Mark then we can predict with relative accuracy that TES V would be around the corner...that is, if it is actually TES V.

Yea there were some really nice looking and great playing games released for ps2 even when the 360 and ps3 first came out. Towards the end of a consoles life cycle is when the best looking games come out because the devs finally know how to harness the power almost fully and they learn new tricks. 360 is almost at it limits but your right the ps3 is no where near being maxed and the cell processor has plenty of juice left in it. Ps3 should have some great games for years to come.

Lots of theories...I'm going to add Khal's since its unique, to all the other theories: those are all too similar to the original theories, I'll surely add them if you add some new spice to it like Khal did. :obliviongate:

And the theory post will always be at the beginning of the thread, page 1, so I don't have to repost new versions.
