Official TES V Speculation Thread # 57

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:08 am

Not to mention the people who're going to be like:

  • "Who's Martin Septim and why is he mentioned in the trailer?"
  • "What class are you going to be?"
  • "I can't stand waiting anymore! Who else can't?"
  • "What do you think's going to happen in the game?"
  • "I don't understand the difference between Bretons, Imperials, and Nords?"
  • "I read something about this thing called a Daedra, what's that?"

Judging from the content of this last page this seems like a good time to make a first post...

*Places hands where all can see them*

Don't shoot! I've been in love with Elder scrolls since I was a little kid watching my Dad play Daggerfall! My first (and favorite) was Morrowind! I even aware (and saddened) that none of it exists anymore!

I even like Oblivion!

I've lurked these forums for months!

Welcome and have a fishy stick. (Someone else will have to link you though, I have no idea where they keep them.)

On topic:
I'm still not convinced we'll get more than a book announcement at QC, though it would make for great publicity if the announced the game there (with a follow-up on Gamescon being only 3 days later).

Agreed. I think the book announcement will allow them to go for another couple of game venues without TES:V news. "You want more TES news already? We just announced the next book at QuakeCon! Azura's breath!"

On the internet...? Woah! Guys! Why didn't we think of that!?

Or "when do you get guns?" or "Why is Axe blunt?"

okay i am new to elderscrolls i played morrowind slightly and love oblivion but i did have some of those questions but i did research annoying research but still and i did wonder why they didnt create a skill for axes at first because they are not blunt although i do understand it is not a blade and just sharp and it would have been dumb to create a sharp skill specially for axes.

That was posted in 2008, we all observed e3 this year and it seems they're going to milk this 3d motion, Wii style motion sensitive style gaming for a while
I don't believe they will be releasing gen3's for a while judging by the release of that new 360

I really hope TESV Is NOT a console port though

We get posts like yours at least once per thread. Sometimes, once per page. The VAST majority of the information you need to get up to speed is on the very first post of each of these threads. I know you mean well in your contributions, but you really should check the first post when the thread title has the words "Read the first post please" stuck right underneath it.

But welcome! Prepare to lose your mind to the madness of the eternally spiralling speculation thread! :celebration:

Ugh, just think of all the times we are going to have to explain the difference between Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios.

How is that any different than now?

I think people are thinking things are better than they really are on these forums. There's always a topic asking for information on ESV at least once a week, and other such nonsense.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I'd be content with just a book at the moment. It would continue the story of the series as a whole and be publicity to keep us sated for another few weeks while we digest the information.

But yeah, I already shudder to think how awful it'll be when the forums get inundated. We'll miss this, I swear.

:sadvaultboy: I can't contribute, vampires took all of mine.

But yeah, I agree, it'd be nice... until we get the super-trolls.

*thinks about the New Vegas forum*

*shudders*

No, I think we're waaaaay better off without new blood.

I don't mind new members in general but when those members act like how 90% of the new members who joined for New Vegas act, it isn't a good thing.

Depends on if the new blood is tainted or not, if you get my drift. ;)

I suggest we rename the thread. This post actually made me lol.

Aside from that if I don't hear anything come out of Quake Con I think I'll just go into a coma for a while. I'd even be content with just a book release date.

So QuakeCon is in two days and no one from Bethesda has come on here and quashed the QuakeCon rumor like they did with E3. Add that to Pete HInes quote about an announcement being likely at QuakeCon and things are looking up???

Yeah, but they didn't squash the August cover of GI, either. We were all certain that it would be TES V, but it was Dragon Age 2.

They just like to watch us squirm, its like when you were a kid, and played with a magnifying glass, and somehow we all figured out it was fun to destroy ants and dandelions.

They shot down the E3 rumor because someone had been reporting false information. I wasn't here for that, thats the way I've heard it though. Don't ever count on the fact that "they didn't say it wouldn't" because although it is a double negative, it doesn't necessarily mean "it will".
