Official TES V Speculation Thread # 58

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:24 am

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1105916-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-172/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

Note that Bethesda Game Studios is NOT working on Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, Brink, or Hunted: The Demon's Forge -- Nor do they develop MMOs.

So true...but I praise Beth for the complete lock down of info...

By this time in another games development some kind of info would be out, but I think that Beth has to keep us out in the cold about it....it creates so much more buzz about it.

I wouldn't mind if they release the game without giving us anything besides a paragraph description of the current events...

That is correct.
But I don't see how it's weird. People have twitter to be followed, that's the entire point of it.

If that's how it plays out, then it will just be a coincidence. Fallout is more popular than The Elder Scrolls, so I fail to see how the mere announcement of a new Elder Scrolls would overshadow the release of a Fallout game. Especially if it comes weeks or even months before New Vegas.

Bioware announced Mass Effect 2 not long before releasing Dragon Age, and I don't think that had any effect whatsoever on Dragon Age's sales. In fact, Bioware even used Dragon Age to promote Mass Effect with that cross-game armor. Maybe Bethesda and Obsidian might have something similar up their sleeves?

By this time in another games development some kind of info would be out, but I think that Beth has to keep us out in the cold about it....it creates so much more buzz about it.

Haha, what buzz? The only buzz about a new Elder Scrolls game is coming from this forum.

Exactly.

I don't have a twitter account but has anyone gotten something out of them besides "Ugh, work sux."

There was a bit of a buzz a couple of months ago with that whole Alinor/Summerset Isle theory. Purely blind shooting on the part of the internetz. (well not really, there were some reasons why that rumor broke out, but I don't want it to start again so I'm not getting into details)

Really. I have a few feeds bookmarked in the hopes that they'll at the very least say something about what goes on at Beth HQ, but following twitter feeds that are updated for the sole purpose of having other people reading them is far from creepy.

a few weeks back the local gaming show here did a 'History of Elder Scrolls' segment, and they gave a short talk about when they think next one will come. People are interested.

I think that if an ESV announcement was going to be brought up at all during QuakeCon, it would be friday because thats when Todd Howard is scheduled to speak with others about "building and industry". Unless he's going to speak at other times thats not listed. I know sunday is the last day but a schedule is yet to be seen for that day. As for the other days, I don't think the schedule is complete.

Good point. No doubt people are going to demand answers about TESV. But seeing how Beth caused an uproar by saying "don't expect TES in the near future" (even though that's what we already knew), I have a feeling that they'll say the same old "We wish we could tell you something, but we can't".

So Quakecon still isn't out of the question for an announcement right? I didn't miss anything?

Even if they don't announce it, I'm pretty interested to see how the handle the inevitable Elder Scrolls questions.

Wouldn't it be {censored} -up if the Elder Scroll V question was asked and we got the usual answer and then half the gamers pack up thier computers and left? What then would Bethesda do? Todd "Ok Ok you win. TESV is in production and will be out sometime next year. (whine) Just please don't leave."

That would be hilarious. It wouldn't happen, but it'd still be hilarious. xD

I'm still hoping that when people get in Quakecon and Todd goes up to speak, he is drowned out by thousands of people throwing their fist in the air, chanting
E!
S!
5!
E!
S!
5!

Because, well, that'd just bring a tear to me eye.
