Can you please stop getting butthurt over post in a thread?
You're stating your opinion, I'm stating mine. You have no basis that it's TES:V he's talking about, except this magical theory you've concocted based on no evidence. And you're telling me to stop with the nonsense?

There is almost a 100% chance it is TESV from a marketing standpoint.

God, you turn any discussion into a little argument. Its like anything anyone else says or implies is meaningless. You always have some backhanded comment, not just now, but on almost everything. Lets just move forward and have a discussion without mocking everyone else :vaultboy:

I didn't say you are saying anything crazy,(where did you get that from)what I'm saying is don't mock people mock people speculating, they are actually moving the thread forward(and doing what this thread is about:speculating)while you are mocking people for getting stuff wrong.

To be fair, he's not talking about TES V but he's talking about the new game. However, what remains a fact is that whatever the new game turns out to be, it will take shorter to release than any other game made by Bethesda so far, and for that there is more than enough evidence.

They are going to use a better engine, where did you here that?

They're actually using a modified version of the FO3 engine.
I was expecting for something like Umbra or something, but I guess the engine they'll use is ok.
I still want to get rid of those ugly trees. They look like they were made out of paper or something.

Yeah, agreed there. Hopefully they'll use the updated version of Speedtree

But fallout 3 uses a modified oblivion engine and this new engine is extremely modified.

Gamebryo is the engine, Umbra is middleware, who said they didn't use it? And they won't change the engine for a long time, they used it from Morrowind to Fallout 3 and it worked for what they used it for, so technically we will just be playing a heavily modified Morrowind engine too.

Give me more Gamebryo. For as long as it is an optimized and updated version, which is what Todd howard also says, no complaints here.

I don't think we should see an announcement until after this holiday season...they don't want to kill the hype and sales of FONV during the biggest gift season of the year. I think we will get a book announcement very soon, with a release early next year. The game will be announced just before the book's release to make people want to buy the book to see what happens in the lore, then a game release for the 2011 holiday season, since the turnaround time is going to be so short.

So, we're getting a modified FO3 with swords?

Oh, great... I almost thought they were going to use a better engine.

You idiot, Fallout 3 was like a modified Oblivion with guns. (joke but sort of true)
Todd specifically said that they drastically changed the gambyro engine and that the new game looks like a next generation console game. Something like Crysis.

No one mentioned anything about the game looking like crysis, which by the way is completely impossible for a TES during this generation.

Although we all know BGS started with NetImmerse/GameBryo tech Todd never mentions GameBryo when referring to the engine. Its always 'our' engine as though they bought the source code outright and got a quicky Mexican divorce from Emergent. He's even stated that Emergent has offered new shaders, etc. and that BGS has declined. Now as I see it BGS is commited to getting more out of what they are using. I look forward to seeing what they can do.

Crysis is the one game that looks like it belongs on the next genoration consoles. If what Todd said was true and it DOES look like a next gen game... TES 5 should look like Crysis. I bet that all of the games released then will look like Crysis.

@Hel Borne

Yeah, that is what i thought originally because it was what Todd said in one of his interviews but everyone on the forums was talking about gamebyro on the Suggestions Thread not too long ago.

So you do really believe every word that Todd says? I can tell you that the game doesn't look even slighty like Crysis if you believe otherwise then suit yourself.

Remember how good Oblivion looked for its time? We will eventually remember how good Skyrim looked for its time. I have only Todd's word and that is not THAT much, but you have nothing.

And wii 2 could look cool. But I hate motion control.

Oblivion was nothing special for its time in my opinion and besides we still don't know how the next generation of games will look.

Well then I am surprised......

When I read this, I got so pumped up. I just started laughing and smiling like a creep. I could care less about what engine they're using. The fact that they wanna show their next game soon means that we're one step closer to seeing if the elderscrolls is the game coming up or the game in pre production.

Wait, I didn't gather anything from Todd that said they would announce it soon. They said that it would be the shortest time between announcement and release of their game. That sounds like it won't be announced for a while...

But now we know for a fact that it's on this generation of consoles.

I think people are just trying to make a very ballsy assumption from hearing Todd say they could announce it when ever.
