Bethesda has 3 IPs to manage (The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and IHRA Drag Racing Talking Horses, obviously), but they're only making 2 games. I wonder which one they aren't working on...
Damn... I gotta admit, I really don't think they're working on TES V. They know Fallout will do well, and they know that DRTH will be the game of the decade, so I guess they figured TES V has to take a back seat. I don't blame them though... no developer in their right mind would pass up on DRTH.
Given how well-known the Horse Armor DLC is Bethesda would be stupid not to take this to the next level.
Don't forget the myriad of Terminator games Bethesda made, some even before Arena. The new Terminator film is supposed to be computer animated and in 3D, so maybe Bethesda is working on the tie in for that?
Bethesda hasn't had the Terminator license for years I'm afraid.
Isn't it the least bit possible that Bethesda (Game Studios if I recall) could be developing NEW I.P. that has heretofore not been seen? Why would this project their working have to be, by definition, from an existing franchise?
That is a possibility but in my opinion an unlikely one.
TES III and TES IV were both very popular and received a tremendous amount of critical acclaim - it seems strange that they would decide to let this sit fallow. The Grey Keyes novels also seem like an odd choice if they weren't planning on an Elder Scrolls game in the near future - why pursue a book deal a few years after the last Elder Scrolls game if you weren't planning on something in the relatively near future?
Now it's very possible, I would even say likely, that Zenimax Online Studios is working on an Elder Scrolls MMORPG. I suppose this could be what the books are building up to but given how difficult it is to get in to the MMO market wouldn't it make sense to have TES V in the works at the same time as an Elder Scrolls MMORPG? Let's please remember that this is
not a thread for speculating on a TES MMO, my point is that it makes sense for Bethesda to be working on TES V
if ZOS is working on an Elder Scrolls game.
