They seem more interested in releasing games noone cares about than making another elder scrolls.

I think though, if they don't announce a elder scrolls game soon, people will start rioting.

I'm sick to death of them making every other game and dlc but the one me and thousands of people accross the planet want.

We've all shown (including myself) time and time again that when we have nothing to speculate on, we always and without fail find something to argue about.

Well. that's kinda the point of the internet.

Well, for starters soft shadows were cut, too much for the consoles.

Oh, so most games on consoles these days have soft shadows because consoles were magically upgraded, then? Killzone 2 doesn't look absolutely insane because the the PS3 pixie flew in and zapped the thing to let it play the game?

No, it has always been that Bethesda is terrible at optimizing. Their engines have mostly be unwieldy and slow. There's a reason Morrowind crashed as often as it did, or why Oblivion could slow down to a snail's pace (especially if you knocked a bunch of items into the air).

Perhaps all those upgrades Bethesda claims they made to their engine will help with these issues. I'd really like to see Bethesda answer more questions related to their engine in the coming months. Perhaps that's why I was a bit disappointed with their new podcast. Then again, we're guaranteed to hear something about the engine, their secret game, and all the other good stuff...eventually.

Jokes? What's funny about the question? Have you even played Halo: Reach? Even watched an HD video on youtube of gameplay? Nope? Didn't think so.
Halo: Reach looks pretty damn amazing, 100x better than Fallout 3. I'd say the only game I've seen that looks better than Reach is Crysis.
But yeah, I guess that's funny.

Uncharted 2 surpasses Reach by miles. Just like every single game that came out on the PC in the past year.

Nope:

Nature of game industry. Things change -- you try things, they don't work out, you have to try something else. Calling it lying when things like that change is childish. The game has to run -- and nobody would have accepted the performance hit that that shadow system would have given the game. On ANY computer.
This too shows that you have likely never followed a game's development before. Until yesterday, Bethesda had never given an exact release date. And before yesterday, there were two rough, projected estimates -- Holidays 2005, and early 2006. The delay was announced as soon as we decided the game had to be delayed. The game has to run. It has to work. You have to be able to play it, and it has to be fun. It's not "lying" when you realize that the game isn't going to be in the best possible condition when you initially hope to release it. And we felt it would not be fair to YOU, the CUSTOMER, for us to spend all this time developing the game only to rush it out before it was ready.
And this one shows that you haven't been paying attention. The Construction Set will be available for free download. Free. And it is the same tool that we used to create the game. The "rights" thing you're talking about is related to a SEPARATE tool that is NOT part of the Construction Set. One that you have to have 3D Studio Max -- a professional 3D modeling and animation program that costs hundreds and hundreds of dolloars -- to even access, because the tool is used to export 3D artwork from 3D Studio Max into a format that can be used for Oblivion mods. But no, instead you have jumped to conclusions and made an incorrect assumption out of ignorance. Anyone will be able to download the Construction Set and start making mods for Oblivion right away. It's only if they want to make new artwork that they'd need the exporter tool -- and they'll have to have 3D Studio Max already to do that anyway.
Kneejerk reactions based on ignorance of the facts are not going to win many people to your cause. I think it would be in your best interest to try to actually find out the REAL answers to your concerns before you go mounting a campaign of righteous indignation.

Not as it relates to speculation of TESV, but I found a few things interesting. I wished they had answered more questions. There wasn't anything earth shattering but I found it entertaining and interesting none-the-less.

I heard them talking about werewolf stuff in the 2ns podcast I believe but than they were like hush hush about talking more about that but I never understood why that is O__O

They last game they MADE was Fallout 3. Every single other title coming out after it has been PUBLISHED by them. Yes, even New Vegas. They had little to no involvement making those titles.

Well. that's kinda the point of the internet.

Puhlease. The 360 has 512 MB RAM, my 2003 PC had a gig.

What you are forgetting is that your PC had to run windows on that RAM, the xbox has an system that requires a lot less of the hardware to run. So yes the xbox is more powerful then your PC from 2003 looking at RAM, since I don't know the rest of your 2003 hardware.

Well yes, knowing the fact that the PC is TWO generations ahead of the consoles which Reach is exclusive too, the games on consoles are inferior to PC games graphically. Here you go, a fact that you've asked for.

But on topic, I've just listended to the 2nd episode of the podcast, and is it possible for Arkane to be making an TES related game? :hubbahubba:

Why are we arguing about GRAPHICS, on the Speculation thread? Shouldn't someone create a thread for this?

So, who's with me for a November announcement?...Perhaps Arkane is working on the iPhone version of the game?

I think it's safe to say Arkane isn't working on any Elder Scrolls or Fallout title.
They're probably just doing Arx Fatalis 2 or something that actually suits them.

Sorry for that.

An i'd prefer a PSP2 version really ( http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/09/16/psp2-real-powerful/ ). Hopefully it'll have two anologs. Imagine taking a TES game with you whenever you are... :celebration: But I think they'll announce TES V early 2011, after all the fuss about the other AAA games fades away.

Well, there is no evidence that they're aren't working on a TES game.

Any speculation on OS's released on? Just Cause 2 was windows seven only.. I'm not ready to let go of XP yet. Do I need to be saving for windows 7 as well?

There is so much wrong with what you just said it's hilarious.
Just because something is newer doesn't mean it's superior. Your logic is hugely flawed. I could name games that came out in the last year that don't look near as good as Reach.
My guess: you've never actually played Reach, and have only seen gameplay footage on youtube in 360p. Amirite?

I already went out of my way to post the fact that arkane is developing two games, one of which is well on its way, according to these sources.

According to ZeniMax website, Arkane Studios is working on a game using the Unreal Engine.

Go here http://jobs.zenimax.com/index.php?a=search
And just tick the Arkane Studios box. Click Find Jobs.
Read the bottom part.

Another interesting note, check the Bethesda Game Studios jobs. You can see a Quest Designer job here. I think someone already pointed this out. Just a detail.
And at the bottom, Game Programmer job, with this note :
Bethesda Game Studios is looking for talented programmers to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and future-generation consoles.

edit : And don't forget to click the "MORE INFO" button, some nice bits, seems to tell us they will keep using the same editing tools for the upcoming game (TESCS and GECK)

If I had to guess the recommended OS would be 7 & it would be compatible with Vista, they might support XP but I wouldn't hold my breath. Just out of curiosity why would you want to hang on to XP anyway? (not knocking it or anything just curious.)

The only thing really standing in the way is the cost and I don't see features I care about enough to justify an upgrade :P. It feels like effort for nothing new. Unless of course TES V is vista/7 only.. I guess I'll have to come up with couple hundred (And i can play just cause 2 in the meantime :homestar: )

Well that right there means it's not Elder Scrolls, GameByro engine is stripped down and rebuilt from the bottom up, it also means because they're still using GB it will be cross platform. Though I guess it doesn't rule out an iPhone game.

Almost every person I know who uses PC's prefers XP over 7 or Vista.

Also, I think we can stop speculating about whether or not Bethesda Game Studios is making TES:V or not. I mean, isn't that kind of obvious?
I don't have to tell you that I'm taking a crap in the bathroom, you just know. If it smells like crap, looks like crap, and sounds like crap, chances are, I'm taking a crap.
It's just kind of obvious.
