Official TES V Speculation Thread #66

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:32 pm

Next there will be a rumour that ESA and NASA have abandoned space operations and decided to make netbooks.

NASA has actually decided that the private sector should take over R&D for future space faring vehicles, and even more humorous is the fact that the funding for NASA is actually slated towards research that has commercial benefits that while not "netbooks", it might as well be. Also, Pokoyo, there was quite a bit of pvssyr on the interview as we discussed the now more than a year old interview. I suggest taking a read through the last thread.

I think I can safely say we'll have an announcement by the end of the year, and a release late 2011.

Agreed, all signs point to that, I would say a November announcement or probably after the release of Fable III or right before Fable III to make people think twice.

With Bethesda there's typically a year and a half between announcement and release. And expect a several-months postponement after a release date has been announced, too.

Todd said that the time between the announcement and release will be Bethesda's shortest ever, so it will be shorter than a year and a half. I'm expecting a year personally.

Yeah, that would make sense. I would imagine that it will be a November announcement with perhaps a May GI cover followed by a huge E3 event and a release perhaps in july or early August.

I kinda want to see Divayth Fyr appear again...or at least M'aiq, if nobody else.

Actually, you know who I want to see more than anyone else? Crassius Curio.

Hell, you know what? TESV should be nothing but easter eggs and past-game references.

Hey everyone, here's a nutty idea: How about we keep the discussion focused on speculation regarding the announcement/release of TES V? Seriously folks, NASA and Fallout 3 Easter eggs belong in other threads.

To the folks who actually know what they're talking about: Did we decide that the System Link article was valuable in any way? Seems pretty baseless to me.

Well we can't really rule it out, but it seems to me that it may be fake as I don't know why a Sony employee would say that. But even if it is true, we can't know for sure so it doesn't give us any more clues than we already have.

Read sig. It is in development. I found it out from a guy called Falubii who had a link to some interview. It is on the thread 'What if Elder Scrolls was no more?' Pokoyo is excited.

It's also in the last Speculation Thread. I defended the notion that he was spilling the beans but got convinced he didn't. He was just talking in general.

Stay on topic please.
Anyways, sounds like all we've got is rumours so I'm gonna go with the most popular and likely theory, which is a late 2010 announcement and a mid-late 2011 release, maybe earlier if were lucky.

Guys,

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info. I got into the series with Oblivion back when it was released and have played it several times over, more than any other game I have ever played. It is hands down my favorite game of all time, been playing video games since I was a little kid with the Atari 2600. TESV is my most anticipated game ever. The "rumours" you guys have been talking about has given me hope. Thanks again, and looking to lose myself in TESV

You should play Morrowind if you truly want to lose yourself in a game before TES:V comes out.

Morrowind is a much better game as far as immersion goes.
The only thing that would hold you back is the graphics, and the semi-clunky combat system. Stealth is also a huge downgrade in Morrowind, obviously, considering it's 8 years old.
But other than that, as far as being immersed in a world that feels like it's living and breathing, Morrowind>Oblivion for sure.

I think it will be based in the waning years of the fourth era and uriel septem(I said septem on purpose because the septims are dead)sends you to the west to hammerfell and you get released in a small town called seya nean and your duties are to go to belmora and the quickest route is to go on a creature called slug slider and the main quest is about a oblivion gate that opened up in senchal and the numideium(spelled wrong on purpose)and the womantella and the orcs also want to be hated again and jagar tharn killed the king of daggerfall who screams tes v every night. The game will have two seasons but not four and the climbing skill will return but only if you press sdsdgfgfgfggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggf tes v can you climb down from wherever you are.It will win the best of e20 award 20990 and you character will be premade.

...Are you okay? o.O;

I was making a joke saying bethesda are really unoriginal like in the comment I said to the west to hammerfell(slightly changing old phrases) and seeya neen(I forget what I write.)as places in hammerfell (copying old names)basically I was saying bethesda will take everything from the previous games setting, stories, lore, creatures and even ingame names change them slightly and stuff it into tes v p.s and the bad grammar in that post was done on purpose.

But Morrowind WILL seem hopelessly confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it will enthrall you.

Hey I was wandering if you all have looked at Todd Howard's interview in the October EGM yet, a quick scan of the last thread didn't show anything. My read through didn't show anything earth shattering, just a reiteration of what was said in Eurogamer near the end. They did mention that BGS had moved from the basemant to the second story and had room to add 30 more people to their current team of 90 with the new location in the building. Perhaps this bodes well for the new game if they do expand the team.

Thanks, after you said that I went back and found the fairly extensive discussion two threads ago. I was just trying to get the speculation ball rolling around here again anyhow... Oh well.
