Official TES V Speculation Thread #66

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 5:23 pm

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112872-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-177/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. Any claims to having insider information will be removed. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

Note that Bethesda Game Studios is NOT working on Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, Brink, or Hunted: The Demon's Forge -- Nor do they develop MMOs.

We could speculate about what the reaction will be to TES:V being announced... I guess.

Or speculate what we think will be in it...

I can speculate that there will be Eldger Scrolls in it. And a V somewhere at the end.

I think it will be based in the waning years of the fourth era and uriel septem(I said septem on purpose because the septims are dead)sends you to the west to hammerfell and you get released in a small town called seya nean and your duties are to go to belmora and the quickest route is to go on a creature called slug slider and the main quest is about a oblivion gate that opened up in senchal and the numideium(spelled wrong on purpose)and the womantella and the orcs also want to be hated again and jagar tharn killed the king of daggerfall who screams tes v every night. The game will have two seasons but not four and the climbing skill will return but only if you press sdsdgfgfgfggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggf tes v can you climb down from wherever you are.It will win the best of e20 award 20990 and you character will be premade.

I kinda want to see Divayth Fyr appear again...or at least M'aiq, if nobody else.

Actually, you know who I want to see more than anyone else? Crassius Curio.

If there's nothing worthwhile to discuss, then it perhaps is best if we just let this thread sit idle until something arises. Not to be a mini-mod, but off-topic discussion is not a good way to start a new thread.

It might actually be a bit to bad that Todd told us all of that information. For the first time in a while we have nothing to speculate on because we know for sure that we are getting an announcement soon. We know the game is big and open world and that it is on the current generation of gaming consoles. We are all pretty sure that this next game will be an Elder Scrolls game because Fallout New Vegas is just being released and why on earth would they make three Fallout games within a span of about five or so years??? BGS is most definitely not working on a new IP either. Unless BGS wants to have only three IPs for their company and ALL of them being huge open world games then thats just weird to me.

We do not have much to speculate on. Someone make a fake interview or email.

Yes.

There is no requirement to post in this thread. :) If the discussion no longer interests someone I'd suggest they drop it until something comes along that they want to discuss. If this thread becomes a discussion on how there's nothing to discuss we will put an end to it first with pinking shears and second with sledgehammers ;)

I'd actually argue the opposite, it's interviews like that which give us something to speculate on. When this thread started it was largely a collection of wishful thinking, ungrounded musing, and the occasional look at Bethesda's past record to try and divine its future moves. I'm often guilty of the latter but between Bethesda Game Studios's expansion in 2005/2006 and Bethesda Softworks more recent expansion those past time tables are of limited reliability. This thread has also seen its fair share of false starts, with the recent Dragon Age sequel being a prominent recent example. Personally I'm much happier with something to keep the discussion grounded. There may be less discussion but it's of a much higher quality.

Certainly now that things have calmed down from the initial activity following those interviews there's even less left to talk about - but I still feel that a slow but productive thread is preferable to an active one which is constantly running in circles chasing nothing. :)

Not that I know of, Bethesda may be at the Tokyo Game Show and Eurogamer but we'll never ever get as much information from a third party convention as we get from QuakeCon. It wouldn't surprise me if the next big interview we get from Todd comes after their big game announcement (and I don't expect that until 2011).

@HD
So you're saying that you don't think TES:V will be announced until after 2011? Or that the interview after the announcement will take place after 2011?

Thank you, I would love it if we heard something within, 2-4 months from now but I kinda doubt that will happen

It's kind of relaxing knowing the game is ready to be shown now and has 2 years worth of development on it. What excites me is what a team nearly twice as big and experienced as oblivion's can do in this amount of time.

They could be making another TES:Adventures game. Or they have their hands full with the merchandise and junk.

Actually there was a rumor going around today that it is indeed Elder Scrolls V. System link had a rumor from one of its insiders and a Sony employ confirming its development. It seems that these are all timed company leaks to keep interest going until after they release New Vegas, since I frequent the rumor mills there has been A LOT more activity and speculation since Quake Con, some people even think a stealth announcement at TGS is possible.
http://systemlink.gamersguidetolife.com/2010/09/rumour-elder-scrolls-v-definitely-in.html Source for first rumor. Don't take it fully though, I would doubt Bethesda would alienate the PC community to such a degree. I would say when Todd say's consuls he means PC, PS3, 360.

Next there will be a rumour that ESA and NASA have abandoned space operations and decided to make netbooks.

I think I can safely say we'll have an announcement by the end of the year, and a release late 2011.
