Official TES V Speculation Thread #70

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:16 pm

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112872-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-177/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Please note that this thread is not a personal chat box and that one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions.

No scans of copy righted material are allowed in this thread. Any claims to having insider information will be removed. All other forum rules apply. You agreed to them, so please read them.

Note that Bethesda Game Studios is NOT working on Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, Brink, or Hunted: The Demon's Forge -- Nor do they develop MMOs.

I just realized we made it through the entire 69th thread without anyone making a single six joke. Bravo guys. :P

Lord knows if this was in the New Vegas forum it would have happened within the first few posts.

So this isn't off topic, I'll say again that I concede that Dota 2, despite being announce on Game Informer's site, may not be the December cover after all, but I just think it's really likely that it will be. The game may not be hugely popular, but Valve is, and an exclusive on a game Valve is developing is sure to sell copies, just like how an exclusive on a Bethesda game would be sure to.

And only a few more days until New Vegas comes out, which, even if you aren't a Fallout fan, is an important day because that's when we should really start expecting them to announce it.

Well, that's the point thought...I really don't think Valve needs a full cover to promote there game, if they had a large article and ES was the next cover they would get plenty of the right audience that way.

They definitely don't need it, but it certainly couldn't hurt. New Vegas didn't need the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of magazine previews it got, but it still got them. More exposure, so long as it's positive, is always useful.

Maybe. But it just seems like they made a better version of that one mod for Warcraft III. I don't know if its cover worthy.
But that probably says more about my opinion of the game, then if it will actual get the cover (HL:EP3 or HL3 please).
Plus I've been wrong before, what with DA2 getting the cover that one time when we all thought it would be TESV. :P

lol, yeah but there was no way it would have been a TES cover because they were promoting FONV.

Sorry, I have to ask this, why in the world would we do something as petty and 3rd grade as a six joke, in possibly the most important thread on this whole forum? I'm not a frequenter of the Fallout forums, so if this is common there I would love to see a link just to get an idea about what you are talking about.

I don't understand why Bethesda needs to use Game Informer to help promote their announcement. The announcement itself should generate a ton of interest and drool

They don't need to. It just magnitudes the awesomeness and helps out a dying brand of video game information that has a strong legacy. There's also an element of tradition involved.

I've been hanging around the New Vegas forums a lot lately and I was simply commenting how if this thread was made there there would be tons of immature people who would say something like that. Basically my comment was complimenting you guys on being more mature than the New Vegas forum, that's all.

Getting back on topic I still think that game will be released next year as a 25th anniversary title, it just makes perfect sense.

To be honest, I have some doubts that DotA 2 will be the cover of the next game informer. Two possibilities remain open for what the December cover might be, I'm just going to speculate that it might be either TESV (which is just me being very hopeful) or it might be Duke Nukem Forever. I think DotA 2 looks about as exciting as a sack of potatoes, and I hope Game Informer knows it.

I just don't think releasing it on their 25th anniversary would help them sell any more copies... whereas if they released it in holiday season 2011 they would get a sales boost from all the people buying it a a gift.

LOL, my friend...they don't need to release it exactly on there Anniversary to make a point, it's still going to be a 25th anniversary release during the 2011 holiday season.

Had i to say something the game will be released when they tire of doing or people tire of playing FALLOUT.
TES is now relegated to second grade, this has been made clear time and again.
so i wouldnt expect anything until 2012

So, because Bethesda picked up another big series and made one, and I stress this, ONE game for that series after the last TES game, TES series has been demoted? Please, back up your claims with some evidence, because that is not true. Where has it "been made clear time and time again"? When did Todd proclaim this? What is your argument to contradict everything we do know, such a certain Skyrim trademark, a certain novel, and Bethesda handing off Fallout to another company temporarily? You think they plan on releasing three Fallout games in a 3-4 year time period? Oblivion is still up there as one of the best-selling, if not the best-selling, WRPGs of all time, last time I checked. Why not make a sure-to-be lucrative sequel?

Lets say that it is Skyrim and that it will be released soon. How does everyone feel about that?

What do you mean? I feel ecstatic as I honestly don't believe the game's release will take place any later than Q1 2012. So, I believe we will all be playing TES V within one year and a half.

Gstaff said this when I PM'd him:

We're being purposefully vague when we say when it's up next. We're still getting in the swing of things, and with Fallout: New Vegas' launch, we've been pressed for time.

So I wouldn't expect it for at least a few days.
