So I was curious and dug up some old Archive pages to see what the count-down to Oblivion's announcement looked like. Well, it turns out the URLs from those days still work, at least until the number "eight". So, they started eight days ahead of the announcement date?
The date of announcement was 9/10/2004, the number 7 day is what came up for 9/4/2004.
If the announcement of TESV is done in exactly the same way, with seven or eight days ahead (although the "one" page pretty much revealed the title), for 10/25 to be the date of TESV's announcement, the countdown should start tomorrow.
Now, what if that is not the case? What if the countdown starts on 10/25. That would leave the day of the actual announcement and a week of this thread EXPLODING until 11/1/2010.
I know the 10/25 thing is itself speculation, but that's the point! I like set dates and looking at them, even if they disappoint, because it is just another step in the timeline to look forward to. I look forward to album releases all the time, and often times those get leaked onto the internet way ahead of time.
Last time I ate a banana was in 2008... hmm.
Another possibility, perhaps the announcement is 10/26, which is exactly a week after this Tuesday, the release of New Vegas. For all I know the announcement could even be 10/20, the day after, or 10/19, the day of.
I really don't care for bananas... maybe that's why... hmm.
When I read the Game Informer article about the MMO rumors, I at first smacked my head because it contained nothing new. This was all stuff I already knew - I knew about Zenimax Online Studios and I know that they are definitely separate from Bethesda Game Studios and BGS does not make MMOs (do I get a cookie?), and the rumors started when ZOS first came about and revealed that they are working on an MMO. But, why post an article like this?
I hear bananas are a good source of potassium for praying mantises, madagascar hissing cockroaches and other pet insects. Insects are also really cute! hmm.
What if Game Informer posted that article just to stir the soup a bit (sort of speak) and cause people to start checking the site more often for TES related news. The article itself was old news, but what if it was posted intentionally in anticipation of something new? Like, an announcement of TESV, and the fact that it is NOT a frelling MMO. I like using the word frelling. I don't think I've used the word frelling in a while, but I sure love me some Farscape!
It'd be funny to have a banana weapon mod in Oblivion that was under "Blunt" and did like one point of damage, but it came with a quest that you had to kill a Xivilai with it. The Banana of Terripilation... hmm.
So, I am banking on the next event of major TES related news being 10/25 at the earliest. It'd be nice to get something a day after New Vegas, but I think they might wait a week and be like, "Okay, you guys have been playing this new game Obsidian made for you Fallout fans... enjoying it? Good, because next year you got something else to look forward to... LOLOLOL!!!!" but then end the post there and leave us to speculate more then be like "its TESV btw LOLOLOL!!!" or something.
Well, I'm going to finish this post, then get back to homework, since I want to get everything done before Tuesday so I can spend that entire day playing New Vegas.
