Official TES V Speculation Thread, #82

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 3:58 pm

I havnt really even talked to you and i feel insulted... :/
Joking...

But I still dont think taking the tweet apart word for word is going to get us anywhere. Im sure every tweet that is like that you can make it into the next TES or any game. "The next cover will be of a game!" OMG i know its TES V... I dont think he would be making hints at it through hidden messages in his words. He probly doesnt have any second thought to what he posts. I know youll come back with but this is the speculation thread... But its one thing to talk about it for a page maby two but ive been seeing people talk about this for a while and i dont think we can get much further with it lol :P :obliviongate:

I think they are ready, lets look at it this way, Todd says he wants to announce it so then they don't... for a while, . Why?! because their secret game as everyone knows and expects is just needing a little longer to built up peoples exitement until the planet starts to riot for TESV also as many have mentioned for the heat of Fallout New vegas to die. Most folk prob dont even know all the jazz that go's with what company made what game like we all do here so its important for people to talk about it by word of mouth and rumour. I speculate that they are waiting for a possible opening for a future game informer cover. So either I hope by the time Santa Clause comes we will hear an announcement if not then the aniversary date looks like the next poss date. "TO MARK X AMOUNT OF YEARS.....And you get the rest..."

Im sorry if this is being repeated but this is the only sense Im making of this thread.

GameInformer does feel like the most reasonable medium through which it will be announced, that is unless it's at the VGA's or in the secret code of a seemingly normal tweet or Eurogamer Denmark is actually BGS in disguise.

I just dont understand how other companies that make big title games that really don't come close to the likes of TES are eager to boast announcements rather than mull over backroom politics, The logical thing to do would be to honour the comments made at Quakecon, Times up Beth! The whole net is buzzng and everyone has heard these different tweets and rumours.

Be great if bethesda commented on the new secret game since the word soon should be replaced with "Eclipse of the 2012 myan angel of dawn purification"

Remember back in August http://twitter.com/GI_AndyMc/status/20397485690 Andy McNamara said "And for the people that keep begging for the next Elder Scrolls....trust me, we want it too. Patience." Then he said http://twitter.com/GI_AndyMc/status/2446334590189568 that we have been begging for February cover 4ever. He uses the same word "begging" in both Tweets. I think he wouldn't have used the same words if the Feb cover wasn't TES V because he knows how sensitive ES fans are and we have been begging for TES V . He would probably use a different word. Remember how Oblivion was announced in September and then the October Game Informer Issue in 2004 had Oblivion as the cover. Would they do the same thing this time? (announcing in late December or early January then following up the February Issue with TES V cover)

Personally I think they won't announce it on their site but on the Bethesda pod cast...it just makes perfect sense on the side of things to announce it on the pod cast so I think maybe the video game awards we won't hear about it but perhaps after, or they will announce it and then have a pod cast devoted to it.

I'm sorry but that's an extremely tenuous link. I highly doubt he puts that much thought into it. :P Besides, the use of the word '4ever' casts the possibility of it being ES V into doubt.

Hey moderator, How about only one thread that is floated?

All of these numerous TES threads are kinda --- CLUTTERING.

anyhoo... What gamesas says is promising... Words you wouldn't want to hear from your favorite developers.... The game is `IFFY, cancelled, our progress has been postponed.

gamesas repeatedly says... They can't discuss it... Thats not a loss, of any kind...

In fact, because I seem to be inadvertently insulting people at the drop of a hat nowadays, if I somehow insult you, PM me. Though considering how easy people are to offend in this thread, I suspect my inbox will fill up rather quickly.

Two years ago on April 1st, 10:08 am, you insulted me something grievous; and ever since, nary a day passes which does not contain a shed tear from the relived nightmare. :P

I believe that people are simply becoming overly sensitive because of the possibility of an incoming announcement, maybe we all need to simply calm down and take a break from the speculation thread for a while, in fact I think I'll do just that. I'm going to ignore this thread for three days and get on with my life, give yourself some breathing space, as well as the thread. I would suggest that everyone else does the same.

People should stop trying to find links in everything the guy tweets. "He used the word 'the' the same amount of times it the tweet! It must be tes v!" Lol not that bad... but he probly doesnt put much thought in them.

I'm always suspicious of tweets. as Antibody has said, they have a limited number of characters and so the attempts to crunch it down may cause people to misinterpret it.

Well, I think we've hit another "all we can do now is wait" thing. We've integrated the Eurogamer article pretty well completely into our overall consciousness and can't do anything to accelerate the February cover reveal, so unless they do a small, site-only announcement first we can do nothing for the next month or so.

No one knows when the next podcast is coming.
As for the tweets, I find interesting that back in August people were begging for TESV and now he says that February issue is the one we've been begging for.

Once again my hopes are high!

That's pretty much what I've been saying this whole time, without more information it all turns into circle talk and wishful thinking.

It's more likely that him not putting much thought into the tweets is the very reason he uses the word "begging" twice in reference to behavior of the fanbase towards TES V.

Obviously the very title 'The Elder Scrolls' is a reference to when they are going to announce TES:V. As you can plainly see, the word 'elder' has five letters in it. This backs up my hypothesis because five letter words are pretty rare. Now, if we translate 'scrolls' loosely into Latin we get 'libros'. I think that it is safe to say that this is a reference to the zodiac sign Libra, which ran from the 23rd September to the 23rd October in this year's western calendar. Obviously we did not receive an announcement in that timeframe, but the Libra sign contains the Greek letter Omega. Omega often denotes 'the end', and so this is clearly a hint by Bethesda's marketing team that they will announce The Elder Scrolls at the end of the year, which is when the VGAs are.

If that is true than wouldnt that have been true of ALL TES games? Not just this one in general?
Not to be mean but don't you think you are looking a bit to MUCH into it?

No no, see: the very word 'elder' is a reference to the fifth game in the series because it is comprised of five letters.

It seems pretty straightforward to me...

How on earth did you take offense to that? If you were being sarcastic, then tell me so. No need to get offended...

I shamed you? By sarcastically responding to your post I shamed you?

I don't even know how to properly respond to that.

Yes, PM me as well if you'd like to talk about this further.

The elder scrolls...
3 5 7.. Possibly a crypted code here that only applies to this fifth game...

So all of those are possible months when TES 5 can be released, basic encrypting stuff here, however the year is a bit confusing, might be any accually...

If we add those numbers together be get 15, possibly meaning TES 5 will come out the 15th of march, 15 of may or 15th of july...

However, 15 beeing the middle number in some months, this could mean elder scrolls comes out on mid-summer, or possiby the 15th of 6th...

Multiplying the numbers: 3x5x7=105, interesting. So here we have two new possible dates, the 10th of may or the 5th of october...

Changing the numbers to the respective letter would give us: CEG, changing these with ascii tabel into Hex would give us 43, 45, 47. Now april is also a possible date of release. Adding these together give us 135, which is really close to 357. Taking the first number here and put it into the code gives us a straight number with a pattern:
1357

Very interesting...

Makes no sence at all.
