Official TES V Speculation Thread #85

Post » Tue Jul 20, 2010 2:01 pm

However I do think the overreaction above to VEDOD's post re the twitter account is quite lame. So lame that I don't even feel the need to explain why. My respect for you guys has fallen.

Way to go, then, for bringing it up when everybody else had stopped caring.

I am definitely going to be reining in my hopes and expectations. Pete's tweet about the GI speculation going on for a while has all but destroyed my hopes of a Feb GI and the VGAs aren't really Bethesda's style. I would be ecstatic to be proven wrong though.

... Wait... So... there will be... no TES 5? :bonk:

There will be...Beth is probably hard at work right now (maybe even harder at work considering everyone's frustration with the FNV bugginess (yes I know Beth did not make FNV I'm simply suggesting that they may be doing more QA on TESV so as to avoid further fallout (punny, heh) over bug issues)) on it. Todd Howard has said that he felt FO fans waiting 10 years for a new FO (this in regards to FO3) is too long...so expect it before 2016. :-)

Its in the works people. Have a little faith and be patient. Play New Vegas or something ;-)

Guys just to clear things up about the Forum change thing I spoke to Rohugh, he said it was just to fix some bugs, keep everything looking nice and shiny and that if there was an announcement there would of been a more significant change.

Ya know... it occurs to me now... Maybe they shouldn't make a TES V. I'll probably get fired if they make a TES V. I won't show up to work. That'd svck. I like my job. It supports my Oblivion habit as-is.

Duh. Obviously there would be a TESV section added in the forums if there was an announcement.
But there hasn't been an announcement yet, has there.
I agree with the overall opinion that something is up, and it's about to happen real soon.
There have just been too many "coincedences", hints, remarks from insiders, etc. in the last few months to ignore.

Guys give him a break, maybe he wasn't here when Mike put up the twitter account, I know that the account is fake, you guys know the account is fake, but that's because we were here when Mike said he put it up. Lets not flame anyone any more please, not Mike for thinking he's a squatter, or the guys mistakenly calling Mike a squatter.

I didn't even know the twitter accounts were connected to this page, I just thought it was some hoax or some guy squatting on domains trying to get some money sorry guys.

Thank you for the apology (respect restored and then some). :icecream: Next time you may want read up on the current conversation before throwing out a defaming comment like that.

Making defaming comments about a member of the forum because you didn't bother to read the preceding posts is not lame. I would have defended you just as rigorously. If you would prefer this to be a place where no one to comes to your defense we can accommodate that. :glare:

Poor Beth, they got themselves some leaks in their fort Knox of a flagship. Look at how many rumours have started wildfires in the past year.

Oookay, JUST got back from my mailbox with the new january issue of Game Informer (nice cover btw), and the last FOUR pages are devoted to Elder Scrolls... Two pages with the devs talking about the previous titles (arena through shivering isles), and two pages covering the geography and where each title has taken place, along with a recap for all the titles.

Now, this is no proof of their next cover (couldn't find any hints this time, but haven't thoroughly looked yet), BUT it is VERY interesting that they are giving their readers a refresher course in ES lore and history now, isn't it?

I cautiously have my fingers crossed for a february cover with a january reveal.

Can you scan those pages into your comp and post the pics? I don't have a subscription and I'd very much like to see this.

Whoa...that is indeed promising! Thank you for posting. I've been very hesitant to claim a date, but a January (Feb. GI Cover) announcement is looking very promising.

I can't confirm this (haven't gotten my copy yet) but if it's true, it's definitely a precursor. The Elder Scrolls series isn't really 'current' enough (yet...) to warrant articles written about it in late 2010, so the fact that Game Informer would put something like that in there is definitely a sign of something to come. I know if I were in their shoes, it'd make sense to remind readers why The Elder Scrolls is exciting right before the reveal of a new entry into that series.

Was there anything said by the devs that could possibly shed a little more light on their current project?

If true, that is almost confirmation that the next cover is ESV. The devs talk chronologically about the titles and their locations. That's basically setting up for the next game.

Holy cow, Forums just jumped way up in people reading. I would love to find out, and it's even right around the VGA...something has got to be up...it's been years since they've mentioned elder scrolls in GI.
